FS2CREW: LEONARDO MADDOG (Legacy Version)

I am typically flying the Maddog out of larger airports and have plenty of room to fly with FLEX takeoff. However, in the pre-start check below the line I can't seem to figure out the correct response to the "TRP" challenge. I can certainly get by the challenge by just saying "takeoff", but can't seem to get the response for FLEX takeoff. Per the checklist manual, the response if using FLEX is "___ Takeoff FLEX". I assumed the blank was your assumed OAT, but answering anything on the lines of "49 Takeoff FLEX" gets me no where. I've tried various combinations adding degrees to the temp or not and so forth. I note several people having issues with recognition of some a/p commands, mostly those beginning with 'Set...'. Add me to the list. Bryan commented that this may be related to using SAPI 5.1 under XP and that Win7 is more reliable. Like others, I am not going to go near Win7 for a while, not least because I don't think I could face another FS9 and FSX reinstall with all the trimmings.So, questions for Bryan...how much testing was done with XP? Never complain FS devs never listen...I just added this new command as some of you really seemed to want it for Nav 1 and Nav 2.Syntax: "SET xxx point xx on my side"Syntax: "SET xxx point xx on your side"Example:"Set 109 point 40 on my side""Set 111 point 50 on your side"It'll be in the hot fix.What I really wanted to do was to be able to set Nav 1 via the Identifier of the Navaid.Ie.,"Set Oscar Sierra November on Nav 1".That's a little more tricky.

In the speech setup, I had "Background Adaptation" checked on so that the voice recog would automatically adapt to my voice as I used it more. However, I think this has an unfortunate side effect: for me, all sorts of the MD cockpit sounds get picked up by my mic, and I think that the voice recog tries to interpret them. For example, the trim moving warning sound is interpreted as "Now". So, as you can imagine, every time the trim moving sound goes off, the FO thinks I'm saying "Now" and he sets his altimeter.So, I have shutoff the background adaptation in hopes that this will minimize the unwanted learning by the voice program. E.G. if I want to tell the copilot to set a speed for me, first of all I issue the "Engage speed select" command without any problem. Then I say "Set Speed two two zero", but nothing happens. Same for heading. Does anyone else have trouble with saying "Open" during this checklist item? It always thinks I'm saying "both on". The strange thing is that if I just say "open" for no reason it recognizes "open" and not "both on". The valves are always open after the start, so I just say "checked" instead of "open" but I really wish it worked.Oh well....James

I have set up the aircraft as per the manual, and can get as far as the FO finishing his before start flow. When I call for the before start checklist all seems fine until I come to "Altimeter check". When I answer his challenge with "set and checked", nothing else happens, and the checklist isn't finished.I'm also, from time to time, getting a loop of "wipers off". Any ideas? I'm sure it's user error, I just need some guidance as it's my first FS2Crew purchase.

I'm not sure if I'm getting the phraseology wrong. The engine has recognized nearly every command I've sent so far, albeit sometimes after a couple tries. However, I can not seem to get the engine to recognize the following...1. Engage I A S (speaking it "engage I - A - S"). I'm expecting it to engage the MCP Speed/IAS speed control mode.2. Autothrottle (speaking it "Autothrottle on"). Hello,as you know, 'Z' is the default FS key command for Autopilot On/Off.With FSUIPC I have assigned one button of my CH Product Yoke to this key press 'Z' (it's the button that comes under my left index when holding the yoke).And you know that in the Maddog you need to press one time to disengage autopilot, and then press a second time to reset the blinking alert.I haven't tried the voice command "Autopilot Off" yet, as every time I'm on final I always use my yoke button to disengage the autopilot. Will you guys use these with the MD? Will you run the clean up tool? Hi all. This post is just to share my happyness.I've just finished a flight on VATSIM with a splendid approach in Marseille Provence (LFML) under ATC control with no autopilot at all and with both hands on the yoke.10 changes of headings, 10 steps of altitude, 10 changes of speed and a very short circuit to intercept a very hard 7% GS. All was voice commanded and my satisfaction was quite similar to the one I have when sharing the cockpit with a real human.If you love the Maddog, if you read this post and if you still don't have FS2Crew, DO TRY IT!Cyril

I noticed that the Aux & Trans HYD switches weren't being set to ON prior to pushback. On the checkless it is listed as green (FO) with the As Required response.Since I'm not setting this anywhere, I'm assuming they should be set to on during the prestart flow but that doesn't appear to be the case. Hi all. I think I do a lot of things wrong because I can't make the soft working properly at all. First of all, note that I don't think that it can be a technical problem. My PC is high end and works perfectly, the voice recognition causes no problem (everything I say appears in the green bar) and I don't have other addon which can interfere. I also have to precise that before my first tries, I've read 4 or 5 times all the FS2Crew documents with great caution and that I really know the Maddog quite well. I fly only it since years. Hi.When asking for Wipers Off, the F/O don't use the park position before swiching off so the Wipers stop in the middle of the windshield. It may be easy to make her park them before switching off ?Regards,Cyril

For some reason, the voice recognition software sometimes thinks that I am giving a windows command. For example, during the before start checklist I answer the prompt "Doors..." with "CLOSED". At that time, I get a popup asking me if I want to exit Flight Simulator. I think the software is wondering if I want to close the active window. Similarly, when I say "START RIGHT ENGINE" it thinks that I want to launch a new application (as if I clicked on Start > Programs) and I get a popup of applications to choose from.Does anyone know how to turn this off?
