Gentlemen, I usually get somewhere around 45-60+ FPS on my machine. 60+ during cruise: i9 9900k OC 5.1 GHz, RTX 2080 Super, DDR4 32GB 3200MHz. However, whenever there is a thick cloud layer around as provided by Active Sky XP the frame rate seems to suffer disproportionately. Here is an image when I was cruising at around 30-35 FPS surrounded by cloud. I understand clouds are difficult to render but these are the default XP-11.41 clouds, I did not touch them or applied any weird shader or anything. Also note it's my CPU that's bottlenecking here, not the GPU. any idea as to why? I am not using the Active Sky cloud textures. Do these perform any better …

Have any of you had this problem? X-Plane 11 (Steam VR, Vive Pro headset) crashes in mid-flight, Event Viewer says the culprit is ntdll.dll. Any aircraft, any region, doesn't matter. Sometimes it happens within the first ten or fifteen minutes, sometimes after an hour. I've re-installed the display drivers (AMD) several times just to be sure but it's still happening. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hello All, I have recently been finding some very good back country air strips to download and add to the custom scenery file in x-plane 11. This all goes fine as usual, download the zip file, extract, check the file then place it into the custom scenery file in x-plane and fly. My problem stems from the fact that a lot of these new sceneries include a .OSM file also to install somewhere in x-plane to make the scenery look even better. The files usually look like this after downloading and extracting. ( +48-123_water.osm etc , it can also be for land or airports instead of the water example.) I have looked in every file in x-plane for .osm files and don't find any.…

Thank you for your previous help. Bearing in mind that I’m not using an auto throttle at the moment, can you tell me why when I arm my auto throttle switch it invariably switches itself off regardless. I’m not sure I understand the relationship between the throttle (not auto) and A/T switch. If using the A/T should the throttle be at idle? Thank you

Good afternoon---I am fairly new to this sim world, but I have had issues with scenery order in the ini file of custom scenery. I have attached mine below, but it is confusing as all the names are not the same in all worlds. I watched a video that said you should get them to load in order so I gave airports an "A" and Objects an "O" and scenery a "Z" and Mesh a "ZZ" because it loads alphabetically in the folder for Custom Scenery. I bought True Earth for NO Cal-So CAL- Oregon-Washington and some airports, but they don't always have all the detail. Thus my frustration at loading the game and nothing showing at KSEA when I have seen it all before. I am sure the order is wro…

G'Day All. I am trying to replace my 'Heath Robinson' triple, odd flat screen, setup with curved one/s, could I be pointed to discussions or start a new one? My main concern is the video driver and minimum requirements. Thank you.

The Honeycomb Alpha Yoke system looks great but I am wondering how anyone else "out there" handles the magneto switch that comes with the unit. It's fine if flying a single piston but what about a twin engine. Is there a way to program the mag control on the yoke to handle starting two engines? Thanks for any suggestions. The world's busiest airport for international travel finally gets the love it deserves. Hello everyone! I've stayed very under the radar the past two years because I've been busy with school as well as some scenery conversion projects for Aerosoft. However, throughout this time, I've also been working on a project that I've kept totally secret from the community. Some community members had asked me if I've been developing anything, and I'm pleased to reveal it today. Dubai Next-Gen will be released for X-Plane 11 and next-gen simulators. Dubai Intl is the world's busiest airport by international passenger traffic, and the world's third busiest by total passenger…

Greetings all! I'm a big fan of P3D and have quite a bit invested in it. I dipped into xplane 10 a couple of years ago and while it showed promise, I felt it wasn't quite ready (for me! Careful with those pitchforks! ;)) Now, after recently getting back into flight Sims after a two year break, things are looking really good for X-Plane. From what I've seen of the recent FFA320 and the news that ActiveSky is coming, this could be a great time to really consider moving over from P3d. I see XP 11 is on sale on Steam at the moment, but is it a better idea to buy direct? Do the steam users have access to beta versions etc? Cheers!

After buying the plugin today I have come to a conclusion that XPRealistic is simply a must buy plugin. It is definitely worth a buy, if not a must. G-Force effects work great and are natural. Sounds do add more immersion into the sim but I mostly bought it because of the G-Force ( Way way ahead of Headshake ) effects and Heading and Roll anticipations. Now sadly for the latter there is a problem if you're using Opentrack. If you have the anticipations turned on you will not be able to move left/right and roll your head. You can still pitch up or down. I already submitted this bug and I have no idea if TrackIR users suffer the same fate. So if you use OpenTrack the b…

Here are some early preview shots of my latest region project, New Zealand. This region has everything, mountains, fjords, lakes, cities, volcanoes, beaches and challenging scenic approaches. Gateway authors have also been busy updating airports and Auckland NZAA is currently being worked on. New Plymouth Hastings Napier Somewhere around Tauranga national park Wellington The scenery includes accurately placed vegetation, roads, buildings, POIs (Windfarms, etc) all with a custom-made theme. The scenery also includes colour-adjusted photoimagery (as long as I can find somewhere to host it).…

Just in case you you missed it, KTPA is now available. IMO Verticalsim is one of the best airport devs for X-Plane 11.

Finally gave up on X-Plane 11. Its erratic taildragger ground handling and cutting of the wind speed near the ground, as a work around for its inability to simulate taildragger handling, has finally fatigued my interest. It took a while to finally grasp why my RF5 Sportavia and other low speed aircraft dive into the ground on approach when flying in a wind. As the plane is flared and slowed within 10 feet of the ground, X-Plane 11 unexpectedly kills the wind and the RF5 stalls-dives irrespective of ground lift effect. This is the culmination of the simulators ground failures.

Hello guys! I am very happy to share with you that I am slowly finishing works on Taba International Airport for X-Plane 11! It should be available soon! The scenery is considered to be payware but don't worry it will be friendly price so everyone can effort this scenery! 🙂 Here are some screens from development!

heloI am new to XPlane, coming from FS9 and FSX.I am learning the use of GPS 430 and 530.When I select a frequency for VOR 1 or 2, I cannot find the distance to these VOR when I fly and navigate. There is no DME in this aircraft ? Can I find this distance in the GPS? Is the DME integrated in the GPS ? How to proceed?thanks for help. Also more generally where can I find good tutorials to navigate in XPlane? The PDF files included for these GPS and FMS are not enough for me, I would need real examples to learn.thanks for help.
