Yes they exist, nevertheless is a vage phenomena. Some days ago I saw a plane being advertised as "having High Resolution textures." I downloaded hopefully a set of textures for the plane and was terribly disappointed. The cabin-windows had a size of 22x26 pixels , text on the plane was hardly readable. How come? This was advertised as High Res Textures. The explanation is simple and disappointing the same time. The publisher has no idea what he is talking about Using 4096x4096 texture-sheets is not per definition HighRes/High Defintion it depends on how many pixel per meter aircraft is available. Yes, we should not speak about texturesizes, we only should speak abou…

Just want to let you guys know I just picked this up and I cannot tell you how amazing it is. An actual touch screen inside (well simulated, but sure adds to immersion). Harranssor's work is nothing shy of brilliant. I have his eclipse and DA42 witch are also great planes. Im pretty much in heaven now Its at the X-org store now.

  3. I'm presently in an absolutely stutter and/or pause-free flight today from KFNT to CYTZ. I'm at the mid-way point in the flight plan. I just don't get it... I really don't.... Why....WHY...won't ORBX and REX Studios and ASN, NOT get out their products, for this platform. It runs STUTTER-FREE....and I know..if I could get the ORBX Global textures, and the REX4 Direct textures applied to this sim....well...it would be a 'no-brainer' as to what sim would be fired up first, or perhaps...ONLY for the round of F S'ing. Can anybody who enjoys XPX.30...can you imagine having all the best graphics that FSX/P3D has to offer with the above mentioned developers.…

I am using X Plane 10 own real weather and i download at start of each flight But during any flight, any region or any time i have never seen any harsh wind conditions or turbulance. All the planes fly like a train wihtout any movement or turbulance effect. I am reading the real weather conditions during the flights the turbulance is always at zero Am i missing something ?

  6. What I would like to do, and I know it's a stretch, is fly the XPFW 757 (which I converted from XP9 to 10), using the exterior model of the FF757 Professional. I doubt that is possible, but if someone has an idea that points in that direction, please let me know. My problem with the FF757 is that it can't be flow using XP10s native MCP / FMC - which I need to do because I am accessing the "knobs" through external hardware. If you have any other idea that would "dumb down" the plane to use XP10s native MCP / FMC, also please let me know.

  7. ...is this: In XPX.30, as you pull back your throttles for descent, you will notice that the timbre of the props/engine changes, ONLY as your air-speed deteriorates, as in RL and not in sound-phases, but in real time. Also, NOT...set to the throttle position as in FSX/P3D. The sound...rasp/timbre of the props being driven through atmospherics is tied to just that...you are flying in XPX,through real virtually-simulated, air and its density. Just another 'subtle' thing to differentiate sim platforms. Sonically....XPX is superior to all others. Sometimes, it is so real...so subtle, you might even not be consciously aware of it...

Evening chaps, Planning on picking up XPX on Steam, just wanted to know if the stuff I DL from the .org will still work and install the same way..? Also, will stuff like the FF 757 work? I'm quite confused as to how XPX is handling the addons now that we have Steam.. Thanks for your help, I look forward to enjoying XPX with y'all

Hi guys, I know this is not a new issue, but it is still not fixed. Modern 3rd party planes like the 320neo use SASL and it works fine, but not if you turn AI planes on :-( . They get stuck on ground, fly very funny circles in the sky or simply crash without warning :-( . Is there a workaround or what do the devs of the planes say to this? This bug is really annoying :-( . Best regards, Oli

Hi guys Newbie here - we're spending a bit of time with X-Plane and I've got a real world 757-200 pilot coming to see us later this week to give the platform the once over. One thing I miss a lot from FSX is Ezdok, which has that lovely damped mouse pan that gives a nice cinematic quality to panning around inside the VC, or indeed outside. So far as I can see, X Plane doesn't have anything like this and despite being able set view points with smooth transitions, I'm finding that the 3D look around with the mouse is a bit jerky, and needs a steady hand. This isn't a hardware/frame rate issue - we're running a Titan with an over clocked i7 3970x which is gi…

  13. anyone else have this issue? before 10.30 final the plane worked fine throughout all the betas.

  14. Started by aplanedrvr,

Forgive me if this has been addressed before, as I hadn't seen the post if one exists. Is there a command line or something that can be done to stabilize the airspeed indicator? I'm a real world pilot flying real world 737's and various GA aircraft. None of the aircraft I fly have airspeed indicators as sensitive as XPlane's indicator. There must be a way to dampen the airspeed fluctuations such that it is more stable and auto-throttles won't keep chasing the airspeed. I know some will say, "Yea, but that's how it is in real life." It actually is not like that in real life unless you're in a serious mountain wave or the winds are gusting at the surface. T…

Pilots, I have fallen in love with flying in Canada especially in Vancouver / Alert Bay / Terrace and now Stewart and flying the Bush Wagon along with the Twin Otter. Anyone from Canada or real / mountain pilots could tell me other beautiful places especially in XPX . As in XPX all of Canada does not look that good or maybe I am missing something. I have the Z17 photoscenery and CYYZ airport for Toronto (thought I would visit my cousin there:) ) and it looks horrible, so downloading the HD Mesh 2 for Toronto area. Appreciate all inputs.

  16. There is a first preview - this time a video on youtube (instead of "just" screenshots) - for the next, "version 3" of the HD mesh Scenery "series". Planned release is around the end of 2014. It will be more of an evolution - instead of a revolution - over the current "version 2" bringing: many fixes (see known issues list on my website for HD mesh Scenery v2) landclass improvements increased resolution (yes, the mesh res will increase a bit again) and most importantly fresh OSM (openstreetmap data) from autumn 2014. additionally, in Canada, instead of the OSM lakes it will use CanVec based lakes (which should bring a more or less complete and consistent lake/river cov…

  17. The "Quick Look" utility is described under the heading of USING THE QUICK LOOK FEATURE in the Manual. By following the instructions I have no problem when using a PC keyboard. However my Apple keyboard has no NUM Pad key (as required in the instructions) as the only numbers are along the top of the keyboard. Is it possible to create a "Quick View" using the Apple keyboard? I fly with an iMac 27 inch and X-Plane 10.30. Cliff

  18. Will get to it later. Anyone experienced changes in XPX performance?

Am I correct in thinking that the version 10.30 includes eight new views? If so how do we access them please? Cliff

  22. I'm at present, at 10,000 feet off of Honolulu, Hawaii, just off the coast, about where my last screenshot was taken. Well..I have been banking towards the coast...and today for the very first time...and due to the most deadly-smooth animation I have ever enjoyed (look at my sustained 29-30 FPS, locked, in sim with the real-weather injected cloud bases...amazing on their own part...) at any time, upon any sim platform...I just now experienced motion-sickness!!!! I mean, it...truly! As I banked left in and amongst the cloud banks, and looking out my left cabin window, I started to feel queasy. It is amazing in how our conscious mind will parse visual informat…

  23. Man I'm so annoyed that this is still an issue. Love to hear any workaround with NI or something. I have my install running 4k resolutions with HDR AA settings on 8x, Shadow detail on "melt" and Reflections on max... ...and still the water reflections are a jaggy mess, even though the chunk of land you are seeing a "reflection" of is nicely smoothed. Just absolutely kills me. So much else looks amazing in the game - I don't understand why the reflections have to look so awful. :-(

Hello, flying to SBSP tonight, during the cruise my XPX crashed to desktop with an error message related to : facade/forest/beach facades/slopedHouse4b I am using Simheaven OSM South America dated 17FEB2014 In my log.txt, there are some references to some missing stuff : Does anyone already encountered this problem ? Any solutions other than disabled the OSM scenery ? Stephane

Hi all, I'm working on some scenery and have got a bit stuck in regards to the HDR lighting. I was pointed in the direction of "Resources/bitmaps/worlds/lites/lights.txt" which is great and i managed to get some street lights working but most of what i tried just didn't work and didn't generate an error message (or not that i could find). Does anybody have a tutorial? I'm trying to light up buildings mainly but don't want the big spill i get with the street lights so any tips of which lights to use and how to get the spill size to change also any easy way on placing/aligning the lights. Thanks Paul
