Dear Forum Could anyone please recommend a really good IFR equipped Cessna 182 (or similar) for instrument training practice. A2A do a superb C182 for FSX but they don't have an X-Plane version. It must have:- HSI DME ADF Old fashioned round dials This is in order to practice NDB holds, ILS and localiser/DME approaches and to be as similar to my real world plane (Robin President DR500) as possible. Unfortunately, the 'out of the box' C172 doesn't have a DME or an HSI and is a bit slow. Many thanks for your kind advice. Regards, David

I am having some issues with the FMS and Auto Pilot... I figured out how to set the NAV Source Selector as FMS. That should be correct. However when I press NAV to start tracking the FMS (AP is enguaged) Also as I was attempting to engage ALT tracking for example, I did her a tone when I pressed ALT, not sure what that means. When you press NAV for the FMS, HDG to track Heading, etc, I am not seeing anything illuminated to confirm that I have that I have engaged these AP functions correctly. I have flown different planes in FSX like Flight One's ATR, and don't remember having issues, once I found out what to do to engage the FMS. The AP is the onl…

I've had XP11 since the early beta days and recently updated to the newest version with no issues. The other day, I was asked to unlock X-Plane which I tried to do with my product key. When I tried to do so, I was told that the "Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA certificates." I contacted X-Plane support and they promptly responded that it was a firewall issue. I'm using the latest version of Windows 10 (Creators Update) and disabled the Windows Firewall and my anti-virus with the same result. I tried booting into safe mode but XP11 won't start in safe mode. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Hello, I wonder if the scenery on the DVD is up to date as I read on an other post about a new scenery updater that there was a big update a month ago ( around 40gig) for download version some time ago after the official release? I also wonder if you still need the Dvd during the game or from time to time as a check? Best regards, Pierre

Was looking at some videos and was quite impressed with this product and then a couple of comments surfaced about weather creation, which stated it can't be done, nor can you request weather from a certain date. So does this mean if I fly in 1 or 2 states which I love to fly, where the weather this time of year is mostly clear, I am SOL yes?

I have tried to create ortho tiles twice using the BI download for the area off Long Beach Ca. +33 -119 that contains Catalina Island but for some reason Catalina Island has no satellite topography, just all tan with the runway inserted but nothing else. I also created all the adjacent tiles and all the other islands off the coast are rendered with the satellite images as they should be. Has anyone seen this or can someone tell me if they get Catalina Island rendered correctly using Ortho4xp with a Global Scenery Overlay. I have used zoom 17 and BI. All of the rest of the entire West coast of Ca is rendered fine except Catalina Island? Thanks in Advance …

I realize there isn't a proper forum for X-Plane aircraft repaints, so here is what I've done for a somewhat real-life livery. JetSuite operates private jet service, and I thought this repaint would look good on the Eclipse. This is my first real repaint that I followed through on, including some nice red leather seating too. Comments are welcomed and if there is a call for it, I'll try to see how to upload it to the library.

I've been flying in p3d for a couple Of years now and recently tried xplane 11 demo and it feels much more realistic and it looks amazing. P3d looks good with addons but not as good as x plane. But The planes such as pmdg in p3d are well more modelled then in x plane. So are there any good Airlines for x plane? What do you think. Schould I jump over to Xplane and leave p3d.

Just installed it, through Steam... Heck! It loads faster, and it's even easier to manage - add/ remove scenery, ... Didn't yet configure any controllers - next task for the weekend - and only Global Europe scenery installed. Betas enabled. Steam rulezzzzzz!

Hi Guys, After taking my time getting use to XP 11 and flying with the default scenery, now that I have the time I decided to have a go at improving the scenery. I spent some time reading and noted some people had difficulty with Ortho4XP whilst others had what can only be described as brilliant results from the shots I saw posted. I downloaded the program and followed the process to produce one tile near and airport that I like to use. The process went according to all teh scripts I read however when I plugged the files into the custom scenery and validated it with Xorganiser I thought I was good to go. I've got the latest build and its great. Couple things I notice... Ttextures are now the same quality as those that are produced by FSEarthtiles (FSX/P3D). It seems g2xpl tiles always seemed washed out and lacking in contrast and saturation - that's been fixed. And the new ability to draw out the area you want higher res using Google Earth KML files is a gift from heaven. The way it works is this. I draw out my area I want at say ZL18 (60 cm). I then tell g2xpl if I want the remainder of the tile to be Zl15, ZL16, or ZL17. Saves space and time if needs be.

Hamburg, Germany, at zl17/19/2, but now, with added Decals I'm going to convert all my tiles to the Decal specification now turned on...WOW! Left double click on the pictures to bring them up to full screen. The detail is then really displayed! Hope you enjoy my first flight over Germany...many more to come...believe me! :)))))) The following XP11 rendering settings are now my 'leave-alone-and-fly' burnt-in...and won't ever change. This is it, the work is done, and now only to enjoy the sim, no more in-sim fiddling: Just three shots of Hamburg, Germany near the airport...

Hello, I read that I can move the XP10 folder freely as there is no others files needed outside of that folder. My question is : What will happen with licences such as IXEG or Xenviro? I am also using xorganiser. Can I move this folder as well? My folder is already 480go due to ortho scenery. What is the best way to move such a big folder? Simple copy/paste or is there a utility that may help? Best regards, Pierre

I purchased X-Plane 11 yesterday, very impressed, but have a couple questions. 1. how to set sky color as default? I've been mostly using the Orbit selection, but have to tick it every time I start. 2. rudder/yaw. I'm enjoying the default 172, but I don't have rudder pedals and find it hard to stay on the runway during takeoff. I end up "exploring" areas where I didn't want to be. Is there a way to lessen or even disable the p-factor?

After installing XP11 Steam, and the Europe and North America Global Scenery only, I noticed there was only KSEA Demo and Paris CDG on my "Custom Scenery" folder ( ??? ) Well, I found the culprit - having opted for public beta !
