I am searching on the net for reviews etc, unfortunately all gaming sites only benchmark and review the latest laptops for Doom etc.. not Fs9. So, which laptops do simmers love? Yes, I have heard the new Dell XPS 2 is phenomenal yet it only has a P4M 2.0 gZ processor. What's with that? How can it be any good to compare with all the other laptops that offer P4 3.0+ GZs? Also, I have a P4 3.0 with 1 GIG and Radeon 9800 pro desktop, how would simming on a new laptop that is powerful compare to that? Help! thanks!!

Hi,Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the prop pitch input on the CH Yoke USB is not being implemented in FS9 lately?All lever functions (Throttle, Prop pitch and Mixture) appear to be working correctly under Game Controllers and Z rotation has been assigned to prop axis in FS9, yet there is no movement of the lever on any a/c fitted with same in FS9. The mixture lever (Y Rotation) works fine as does the throttle.I am using version 3.48 (registered) of FSUIPC and I note there is no response when trying to calibrate the prop pitch control, yet all works as before with the throttle and mixture controls.I've checked and find no conflicts with Rudder Pedal assignme…

On my older DELL P3, Windows 98 (plain vanilla, never updated or patched) always worked wonderfully well and rarely crashed. But about 4 months ago, it started to boot up horribly slowly and took about 3-4 mins to reach the desktop. I packed it up in early March as I have too many PCs in the house now (!) but I recently turned it on for the kids to let them use it for games. I forgot how horribly slowly it boots up. It runs great after booting up and shuts down in 3-5 seconds normally (not like Win XP in this regard!) but I am baffled, why does it take an eternity to boot up?Using EnditAll, I see that from time to time, it shows Win 32 core kernel as open or active. …

I have seen that FS9 is compatible with the Win XP 64, but how is it with all addon products? I have noticed that many payware addon states for Win XP only. Can we then conclude that it won't work with Win XP 64?

At last I got the CH rudder pedals to maximize the realism in FS9. It takes a lil getting used to at first but it definitely makes an amazing difference. Anyway, I was wondering if there is any additional material I can read regarding uncoordinated flight as well as various maneuvers using the rudder. Any particular flight lessons that I can try besides the ones included in FS9? Thank you.

I have reformated my hard drive reinstalled windows several time still with no avail, FS9 still is not performing the way it should. I was just wondering if there i a driver that needs to be installed that I'm forgetting about. hi all, as you may know i upgraded to the system as stated below today, and after alot of installations of various software and problem solving i managed to install FS2004 and im very disappointed in the PMDG VC, i means the frame rates inside the VC and virtually the same as they were with my old AMD 2100.i know there is a few things i need to tweak but can anyone shine some light on what areas i need to look at?thx!ps i must add that there is these 1 - 2 second pauses in the PMDG 737 800 VC however the default 737 is smooth as silk.

hi allis there a distinct disadvantage by placing a tower case on its belly like a desktop, i was thinkin of placing the tower case flat instead of vertical would this cause problems to the components inside the computer?

I have been flying with Track IR Pro Version 4 for about 6 weeks now and about a month ago I added the Vector expansion. This FS add on has been a dismal failure in my opinion. The centering and calibration of the unit keeps drifting all over the place, requiring more fussing with the Track IR than flying the aircraft. If you glance over at your keyboard to push a button, then look back at the monitor, you find yourself looking down the cushion on your pilots seat requiring another recentering of the view. I usually wind up just disabling it and flying with the normal view hat switch on my yoke and the zoom key. Save yourself $200 and pass on this add-on.

I wonder how much the selected screen resolution in FS9 affects fps and performence? For example if changing from 1024*768*32 to 1280*1024*768 how much would that affect fps and overall performence?
