Hi there I have decided to switch to an LCD monitor but before i ditch my monster of a 21" CRT I need some feedback from those of you that currently use LCD for playinf FS. what features do I need to look for? I have noticed tha there is a big difference in picture qulaity from one LCD to another. also ther seems to be a fair bit of ghossing on a lot of the LCD's. can u guys provide me with some brand names that make good qulaity monitors that work well with games? thanks

I got a 14" ELO touch screen monitor from e-bay for $85 + $15 for a serial cable. and man is it awesome.I was planning to get Go Flight or something similar for operating the GPS. and talking to Alex (he comes here) he suggested touchscreens. I didn't get any performance increase when I upgraded my P4 3GHz to a FX-55 at 1600x1200 4x AA 8x AF and overcast clouds. It seems like my video card is the bottleneck in this situation as I overclocked my 6800 Ultra from 425 to 445 core and 1100 to 1150 mem and went from 16 fps to 17 fps but prefer to keep it at stock for stability. I might consider upgrading 2 6800 Ultras in the future and a DFI NForce Ultra 4 motherboard or just upgrade to an ATI x850 XT PE AGP if that will give me much better performance. Hi guys,I have just ordered a new Athlon 64 motherboard and CPU to replace my Athlon XP cpu and mobo.Do I need to reinstall everything on the HD or will it all be ok? Dell has sent me a replacment PC for the machine I bought about 2 months ago, that has had constant problems. The orginal PC had a Nvidia GT 6800 256 Meg video card. The replacement PC has a ATI-Radeon X850 XT. My question is, are these card comparable or is this new ATI not as good as the Nvidia GT 6800?

Ok folks here's the deal.I'm planning on getting a new mobo/CPU and have been thinking of the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum/AMD Athlon 64 3200. The thing is my current Graphics card is a Sapphire (Radeon) 9800Pro Atlantis (which I've had for about a year).But I'm wondering if spending 400 quid on pursuing the AGP route will be wasted, if Dual PCI is the way to go now, especially with WinXP 64 on the horizon?Any advice would be appreciated.Rgds,Chris.

I had a long post a couple days ago about my hardware, but I have a new question about the sound card. I have found a lot of people having massive FPS drops from their soundcard. I am basically planning to re-build everything else except use the soundcard, CD-Rom drive, and floppy from my old computer. The soundcard need not be amazing quality since I only need it for FS ambient noises, my USB headset will be for ATC and such in FS. My question is, should I use my old soundcard or use the sound jacks on the mobo. Thanks!Andras

I helped a friend fix up his CH throttle quadrant today--using FSUIPC which was a life saver for this stuff--and then flew the default 747-400 by hand up and down and to landing. I was very impressed. It worked real well, detent, forward thrust, reverse, differential thrust,....I am tempted to buy one for myself now. I wondered however if anybody here has tried the GoFlight throttle quadrant which is a lot more expensive. Appreciate any posts, thanks.JS

I am asking for help in determining why I do not get frame rates as I expect with my system.My current setup is:1. ASUS P4S800 motherboard, with Intel P4 3.0e 3Ghz processor, standard (no overclock) configuration, hyperthread enabled with set affinity=CPU0, FSB 800 mhz2. After nearly 2 years loyal service, my trusty Graphics Card is to be retired :)In it's place will shortly be a Gainward GeForce 6600GT Golden Sample "GLH".My question is this; Do I have to install the drivers for this Card? I quote the remarks from a friend "Should be easy to install - no drivers to change as it is Nvidia". This Drivers I have installed are 66.93 WHQL will these drivers be OK? I finally bit the bullet & upgraded my old GF3 Ti200 VC to an ATI X700Pro AGP card (my 1st ATI card btw). Install went fine but device manager shows the card residing in a PCI slot instead of the AGP slot. This can't be normal. Before installing the new ATI I removed my Nvidia through device manager, uninstalled the drivers with "Add/Remove" programs, rebooted & then ran Detonator R.I.P. This might not be the right forum, but it's the closest I could find. My comp crashed the other day--well, I was working around the back of it and accidently hit the power switch, doh--so ran chkdsk a couple of times and everything seems fine except that Explorer crashes to desktop (sound familiar) on some sites. I've deleted all internet files, and even downloaded Firefox, but stupidly imported my settings from Explorer so it crashes as well. What settings or files could be doing this if I've deleted all Internet files? There has to be something corrupt in there that is crashing it but I've no idea what it is, and there's no way to uninstall Explorer and reinstall. Any t…

I am also running WinXP Pro 32bit, and i want to upgrade to WinXP Pro 64bit.
