Hi guys, I am sure you have heard this before but after a system crash i decided to start from scratch so i just spent a huge amount of money upgrading my whole system for FSX. Now all my software on my system runs like silk except for FSX, so i have decided to go back to FS9 and purchase all the mesh, texture addons i have always wanted but couldn't run before. My Aircraft of Choice has been the amazing PMDG 747 but i've decided to go for one of the new A320's that are either out or soon to be released so i could stick to short hauls around europe. Does anyone know of little tutorial or guide on how to deal with these duplicate afcad files? I have many example as my use of Scan AFD shows but I don't quite know how to deal with them.Many of the files are from my Ultimate Traffic Add on.Many files are the default ones.Many files came from new add ons.Many of the duplicate files seem to have different purposes, ie they deal with different aspects of the airport.Then there is the level/priority issue. $50 US for the A320? $50!Call me a cheapskate, call me whatever you want, but prices for add-ons are getting out of hand.$50 is too much, evidenced this time by the company screwing the pooch on the initial distribution. This was another sign that super-premium prices do not guarantee super premium service or content. Super-premium prices are popping up too often on products that do not justify the cost. The Aeroplane Heaven/JustFlight Lancaster was a pooch with a super-premium price of $40. Proof of poochyness was the 125 meg patch they had to release for the 160 meg plane.Likewise their Tiger Moth, a very nice plane in this case, is also a super-premium $40. At $20 this…

There is a lot of comment on the pros/cons of FS2004 and X-plane (for example - the main 2 - FU3 is also Finite element analysis), much of this is very caustic without real understanding of the underlying technology . I am well aware of the flight models of the two systems (I am a scientist) : FS2004 based on a set of parameterised lookup and equations that define the acceleration at a point in time of the model. The parameters are optimised to give the appearence of the correct flight characteristics. Hello Guys,I have installed MyTraffic (for FS2004) years ago. Today, I would like to de-install it to install another AI traffic add-on. The problem is... I don't know how to remove MyTraffic.In my FSSceneryWorldscenery directory, I have a file called "MyTraffic2.bgl". Do I just need to remove this file? Obviously I will also have to remove the AI traffic aircrafts.I am surprised because I also have "Traffic_eg58.bgl" and "Traffic_LTU2005_LGKO.bgl". Does it mean we can have several AI traffic files that work together?Please don't tell me I just need to uninstall throught the control panel (add/remove programs). GentsWilco has finally released Airbus Vol1 (318-321 versions). Website is jammed with folks downloading so expect @2hrs to download either standard or deluxe versions. Have done a few flights and it's VERY impressive--incredible detail and superb flight model--if you have backgound in the Airbus you know how system intensive it is--they've done a great job in providing one of the most detailed handbooks I've seen.Little short in liveries but more will be released soon according to website. I downloaded for FS9 but I believe it is FSX compatible as well. CheersRake

Couple of things with FS Navigator.On larger airports I often get "too many waypoints found" and I don't always see all the gates or runways at a given airport. Specifically, the Fly Tampa Miami International scenery. None of the runways show up in the display window of available gate spaces, etc. When I save a flight and it asks me where I want to place my plane, I only see a few gate spaces at Miami. Have I maxed out FS Navigator's database?Also, I can't seem to add any new aircraft to the aircraft configuration area. I can see them in the aircraft.ini file but cannot see them in the actual display window that shows the aircraft.I was able to add some before. …

Hello,I need some advice. I own the Carenado Cherokee 180F payware aircraft. As such, with the gauges that come with this aircraft, it is VFR. That is, there is a two axis VOR and ADF but no DME and no glideslope. I would like to know if I bought and installed the Reality-XP Flight Line N series (VOR1/VOR2, etc) gauges and installed them in this aircraft according to the directions, would that allow me to fly the 180F in IFR conditions (using the three axis VOR and DME included w/ the Reality-XP Flight Line gauge pack)? In other words, does the actual gauges in an aircraft represent the abilities/limitations of said aircraft, or are the limitations something that is p…

The falling snow effect looks great when I'm stopped or moving slowly, but above about 100 knots, the snow effect on my system gets kind of glitchy--it stutters and flickers, and generally looks bad. Any tweaks to improve this? Or to make the snow animation "disappear" at higher airspeeds?

4 months into FSX and we're still seeing this kind of stuff for FS9. http://www.bush-pilots.net/viewtopic.php?t=1350Free add-on's like this (and KBOS V2.1) make it easier to stay put with FS9 for awhile longer (maybe until FS11 depending on the various FSX patches). Who says GA is dead in FS9 now that FSX is on the market (and the performance is outstanding as well)??? ;-)I know I'm not saying anything new but this new add-on is outstanding, the wonderful dusk/dawn shots with full ground lighting makes me wonder how FSX will look if that bug ever get's fixed.

This is one of my favorite freeware sceneries but today I discovered that when I select it, FS9 crashes when the loading bar reaches 100% but only when I select a parking position. I have been running both FS9 and FSX and switching back and forth between them as each are totally viable. Yeah, FSX is slower than my 30 + frames via FS9, but its 'doable'But FS9 still kicks butt!I bought last week four season albums for B.E.V. Hi allMaybe getting paranoid but I do think its a little surprising that the minute a BA Virtual member announces in these forums there are screenshots of the Feelthere A320 package on the airline's forums the entire BA Virtual website goes down. Greetings. I'm planning on flying the B377 in the Around The World Race but have encountered some oddities. Others who use this plane can fly it at any speed below the max 305KIAS without problem. At cruise alititude of 20,500 I get an overspeed warning at 240KIAS. I reduced cargo and fuel to 108,000lbs and no change. It was suggested that I swap out the ASI gauge for one that doesn't have an overspeed needle which I did, also with no change. Cowls closed. Anyone fly this plane and have an idea on what's up? Is there a particular version that flies faster? I love flying this plane and want to keep it in the race. Any suggestions welcome. ThanksMiller

Hi all,Having just upgraded from FS2000 to 2004 I wondered if anyone could share their thoughts on what are the 'must-haves' re: add-ons?My level of expertise is not too high - I can navigate using VOR and manage ILS approaches etc., but don't have the time to really get stuck in and learn IFR inside out. I want to learn as I go along. I also don't have the confidence, or ability as yet, to take full advantage of virtual ATC. I also quite like the idea of joining a virtual airline as there is a positive purpose to each flight.
