I've been using GEP for FS9. I saw the AFS World & Mosaic on simmarket when it was first released, but wasn't sure if I should get it. I've been wanting to try it for a while but couldn't really find anything about it other than the reviews on simmarket. Last night, I decided to buy it, along with AFS Water & Clouds V2. I changed the clouds back to REX for better perf, but I kept the sky and water. They look great. After installation, AFS replaced the default detail1.bmp with a higher res one, but I placed the default one back in. Not sure how AFS did it, but the textures look so much sharper. Is there a definitive [or almost] list of the entries that can be made in the FS9.CFG file? Every now and again someone will ask how something can be amended in the sim and will be told to add this or that entry to the file. Dijvid

Hi, I have just installed the above program and I want to know how to use it regarding corrupted AI textures. That's, which feature should I use to find out whether something goes wrong with an AI texture file and locate it. I have already installed the corresponding patch, but I still need to change my system's time and date to make it work.

Someone posted a month or 2 ago about using a VCR type thing. Said the only thing that wasn't real about it was that you couldn't touch the panel. Anyone remember? Anyone using something like this? Jim CYWG

Hi Guys, I´ve been experiencing some issues on my FS9, turns out that while doing some experiments on FS I figured out that everytime I disable the sound directly on FS (By pressing "Q") I, all of a sudden, get a big FPS boost of about >10 FPS or so. Unfortunately its no fun to fly without the sound. I do have a sound card, which, I really dont use because I use one of those Logitech USB Wireless headset. Searching on google I saw that I should disable my sound card so that the CPU dont use it and dont consume any more FPS or decrease my performance, although Im no expert and I dont exactly know how to disable the sound card. I have been painting in FS9 for years and years and am very familiar with the techniques and programs required by FS9. Recently; however, I re downloaded the SMS Overland Boeing Paint Kits and have come across an inexplicable issue with the 767-300 and MD11 paint kits which has me baffled. In short, after painting a PSD/PSP template from one of those kits, saving it as a BMP, converting it to Extended DXT3 BMP and placing it in the aircraft folder, the template shows up "blank" instead of what has been painted. This is only happening to a couple of the templates though, the "belly and engine" templates in the 767-300 and the fuselage templates in the MD11. Any i…

Hi all, I just installed the GA Traffic tool: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004util&DLID=47722 but I don't see the difference. The utility installed, found the FS installation no problem, I updated airport lists, date etc.. and it ran merrily creating the AI. But I got no finish message and I can't find the traffic-ga.bgl it was supposed to create in scenery/world/scenery. Any help/pointers would be very welcome indeed! Sascha

I subscribe to a feed that lets me know technical problems occurring on flights around the world. On Christmas Day an American Airways B777-200 on flight AA997 ran into some exceptionally bad turbulence - so much so that they ran out of sick bags!! And on another flight across the Atlantic a couple of days ago all the toilets packed up and they had to make an emergency landing at Shannon!! Don't quite know how they cleared two or three hundred desperados with Customs! Dijvid

Have you ever bought a airport that you already had? I did that yesterday! I bought two Taxi2Gate airports, Tijuana and Puerto Vallarta. They were both on sale and I thought that when I bought the airports I would complete the Taxi2Gate collection. I only realized I already had the Tijuana airport after I bought it a second time. Feel a little dumb after I realized what I did! :blush:

I purchased the Capt. Sim C-130 on their site since the FS9 stuff is on sale. I keep getting " error 11" flags and Norton 360 lights up with warnings. I know I can get my money refunded, but the aircraft looks great in their supporting materials. I'm running Windows 10 and have a bunch of payware installed without major problems. Have any of you encountered this error code with CS product installation?

This one is a bit baffling as it's only started happening very recently. It happens regardless of which aircraft I use, which airport I am at or whether it is day or night. I keep getting sudden FPS drops whilst cycling through the views. For example, if I am on 2D cockpit view and have a standard 45fps (setting on nvidia inspector) and then switch to VC view of which I usually have setup looking over the wing using active camera, I notice a sudden FPS drop that is very noticeable and causes a lot of stuttering visually. I might have 45fps in one view then it drops down to like 15fps. This also happens on other views too (not just VC view). When in VC view it might be…

Hi There, Recently I download A freeware Berlin Templehof V3 Airport Scenery from Alexander Helmbold, and a Freeware Berlin Tegel Airport Scenery. When my friend and I flew from Munich Airport going to Templehof, when we tried to do an ILS Approach, tuning the instruments in nothing registered, so we could only do an VFR Approach. I checked the Stock FS2004 Airports of these two, Using AFCAD 2.21 and in the Runway Properties the relevant ILS Identities, 4 Letter code were showing for the relevant runways. But when I loaded the AFCAD Files, for the Freeware Addon versions in AFCAD 2.21, all the boxes were blank for the ILS Identities, yet were showing when I checked the V…

I have a problem with UK2000's Birmingham airport where textures creep along the side of the aircraft as you taxi. You know the sort of thing - it's like grass creeping when you are on an asphalt runway or taxiway. I don't have this problem with any of UK2000's other airports, it's just at Birmingham. I've tried the trick of flattening the airport but that hasn't worked. I raised this issue in UK2000's forum and got a rather short reply that Birmingham has not been technically designed differently to their other offerings. Does anyone have any ideas that I might be able to try out? Dijvid

I wonder if anyone has any ideas why the following has suddenly started happening on my Dreamfleet Bonanza? At the end of a flight I set the fuel tank selector to the "off" position. When I next go flying the selector is already set to the left tank whereas it should still be in the "off" position. I've tried starting up the sim with the default flight, making sure that the tank selector is "off" in the Cessna before I shut down. Then when I get into the Bonanza the pesky fuel tank selector is still in the left tank position. I've tried looking in the aircraft.cfg, fs9.cfg and .flt files to see where the tank selector position is saved but can't find any rec…

Hi guys, Recently a strange issue started to happen at JFK (fsdt). At some point the buildings start to be vague. When I load a flight at the gate everything is fine but after a few moments, especially when I change views there is a kind of blink and the buildings are vague, kind of blur into it. Its very strange and I wonder if you guys have the same experience. Never had this thing, it has been running fine for years.

I've reinstalled this aircraft after many moons of not using it only to find that the "fx_C206engstrt.fx" file is missing. I've done another install to no effect. Although I have a valid receipt for this aircraft it's not listed as a purchase in my account at Carenado so I can't download it again. Does anyone else have this problem? Dear Simmers, If you belong to those, how do lik to operate water- or even amphibous airplanes, then you did noticved allready: independend from the weather, the ocean always and everywhere is flat as it can get, if it comes down to the therm "flat". Now I have an idea how to change that, without having no clue how to programm it. What, if there would be a terra mesh forming waves on the water., I do know, that kind of "hills" wouldn't move, but at least, the would be there. Well it looks like I will not be able to get my Captain Sim C-130 plane working in Windows 7 (Captain Sim was no help and no one seems to know how to fix my problem) so I was hoping someone can recommend a good alternative. Thanks!

I just got their Beech Mentor for $4.24 and plan to go back for more later this evening These are among the best GA aircraft developed for FS9 selling at a fraction of their original price. Tonight I tried to start my FS9 and the sim will not start. It just sits on the splash screen (no errors or anything). I waited 20 minutes for the sim to start but it never did, just sat on the splash screen the whole time.
