Anyone tried this new airport for YAMB? I'm getting one of those nondescript CTDs which doesn't provide a .DLL where FS9 is abating. I simply load the airport at military ramp 1, then use the joystick hat button to look out of the starboard window of the default C172...and it's CTD city. Mark

Hello: This may already be discussed somewhere but my search did not turn up anything. In FS9, using the built-in air traffic control, I am sometimes within five minutes of an airport before I can contact it. It is really frustrating, especially if there are a lot of smaller fields around that show up first. Is there a way to determine what runway you will be directed to (VFR) before you get on the glidescope and finally manage to contact the tower? Also, can you change the runway FS9 uses. eg: Thunder Bay, ON - In real life the winds are normally out of the west but FS9 insists we land and take off on rwy 7. Hello all, I have noticed on rare occasions while flying a FS9 IFR flight plan that at some point, after ATC has begun commanding altitude and heading changes for approach, ATC will cancel the flight plan for no apparent reason. Since it is rare it is only a minor nuisance, but I'm curious to know the cause. Any thoughts, ideas, theories or knowledge on the subject would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I did do the customary search on the AVSIM forums with no luck, so if there is a thread somewhere that I missed please pardon me. I want to increase engine power in the aircraft.cfg because my C-130 doesn't increase speed, just slows down, even at 1500ft/min! Can I just know how to increase power so it doesn't stall while climbing etc.Please, just tell me what to change guys...

How easy is it to edit a model's animations? Here's my situation:I have an aircraft, and it's designed so that when the gear is raised, the wings flex up. So there is not dynamic wingflex. However, i would like to change that, and make it so that when the aircraft reaches "X" knots, the wings flex up. Is this possible?Is there somesort of payware MDL viewers I could get that would allow me to look at the variable that controls when the wing animations takes place, and then change it?Thanks!

This is something I have wondered for a long time: On GA VFR flights, How does one determine the distance you are from your destination airport when announcing your position and intention to land? Now if there is a DME at the airport or close by, that can be used to determine your distance. But what if there is no DME nav aid nearby and/or your aircraft is not equipped with a DME guage? Some of my GA craft and WWII warbirds are not so equipped and when trying to use SUPER ATC or MCE for ATC communication one is to announce that he is so many miles from the destination airport. But how can you do that?Love to hear some ideas.Jim D.

I have an issue with the loadedit function for the PSS 777's. Trying to fix this has become a nightmare which obviously was a great bit of overkill as the bird flies fine without this feature. The issue seems to be tied to the registry entries which never show up in regedit on my system (Win XP Pro 64 bit). I strongly suspect that there really is no problem except that the loadedit function for the bird in question is not geared for a 64 bit system. (Yea, I know about assumptions).I highly suspect that this is a WinXPPro 64 bit related issue. Hi allThis problem just started happening to me. My FS9 sim is pausing all by itself about every 15 min or so--I know that this sometimes happens out of the blue so to speak but for the first time in my memory it is happening on a regular basis--this makes long virtual airlines flights a big problem--CAN ANYBODY HELPThanks for any ideas

Yes, I use the default MS ATC. Tried RC and PFE and they're just as bad in their own way IMO. Don't have time for Vatsim.So, I really never fly into KDEN for whatever reason, at least in the last year and a half, however, I flew into KDEN over the weekend and when given the lousy approach vectors for ILS, I preceded to pick my GPS or RNAV approach so I could make a more realistic flight by following the IAP. Well, the problem? Every single GPS and RNAV approach was missing a transition list. All they offered were vectors, which is just as bad as the ILS method. Got them all back except this one and as the company has long since gone I was wondering if some kind soul would PM me with a serial number. I have recently downloaded alot of addons for FS9 including airport upgrades city and provincial Lanclasses and scenery ect. Most all of these addons have gone to the (Addon Scenery Folder) low and behold in my some-what organized filing system in an attempt to ease "House Cleaning" and Trouble shooting or what ever may arise. The latest that I am working on installing are some Railway, Roadway and Water textures; however the authors state to place these files in the World scenery folders replacing the default MS ones. What I am wondering is will these upgrades work if I install them dirrectly to my add on scenery folder? I am wondering weather the add on folder would…

Hello (also posted at the 'add on developers forum'),I like flying MSFS 2004 and fsx with the military add ons. But it seems those are the hardest to model realistic. MSFS, after all those years, still isn't ment to fly with military aircraft. One very obvious thing is that a lot of them are to powerfull. They accellerate way to fast and the thing that bothers me the most is their capability to fly max speed (mach 2) at sea level! I've even read reviews that state it is fun to fly trough valley's at mach 2! Well, it might be fun but incredible unrealistic! A lot of the fastest fighters in real life can't fly faster then mach 1.2 at sea level. It is above 35000 ft that the…

FS Screen has always worked in the past but on my new comp (windows 7) it won't take a shot on what's diplayed in the sim, it only takes what's on the desktop. ie when I take a shot I get a pic of all my open programs but no what's happening in FS9. I Have tried a couple of other screen shot tools but they all do the same thing.Anyone know how to fix this?CheersAndy S

I'm normally using Active Camera to pan around the VC views in all aircraft I have. The pan toggle on/off is assigned to the middle mouse button.Having installed the MD 2008 I noticed that my middle mouse button is inactive in the VC. To be exact, I am able to use it if I load a flight that defaults to the VC. One visit to the 2D panel and back, and the middle mouse can't be used anymore.Does this have something to do with the special functions Leonardo has assigned to the middle mouse button? Are they somehow conflicting with Active Camera?

Hi I have downloaded the above packages and am using the texture for the new US Airways color schemeFor some reason when in the cockpit, regardless of the panel used, there are grey blocked out views for all sight views except forward and right and left.Any idea what i need to adjust to remove this?

Please helpppp:)I have spend thousaands of dllars to upgrade to FSX and new machine, yet I cant get a very simple thing to work: all my downloaded aircraft do not exhibit cabin light and external light at night. This is SO frustrating...I have copied all effects in to teh effects folder , yet to no avail.I will really appreciate help .

Imagine KATL is elevated like a postage stamp above surrounding scenery--I have UT/FSGenesis and now Megacity Atlanta--I know that elevated airports are an FS9 anomoly but has anyone been able to find a work around specific to KATL? Thanks!Rich Perry

Hope someone can help.I've installed the overland 767 to FS9 from the Overland Package (FS2004).. I've installed the Gauges and the only thing I've changed is the sound, but there is a problem with the panel. When on the main cockpit screen (Not virtual cockpit), a section of it just goes blank, same with the boxes for A/P features are also blank, but when flicking on virtual cockpit, they work. The images showing it are below. CYDF Deer lake is the major airport on the west coast of the province of Newfoundland.Centered along side one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world.This scenery has taken a year to create.We have tried to make it as detailed and realistic as possible.The scenery includes a long stretch of realistc buildings on the approach to 07.Traffic into CYDF includes West jet, Air Canada, Provincial Air, Evas and Sunwing .This scenery will be great for the airline pilot and a treat for the low and slow.There is also a FSX version in the works due early in the new year.Scenery in BETA testing and release date is looking at sometime in December.Keep an eye on the Flight Ontario we…
