I'm more or less new to this, was given an USB brick for my birthday present containing a Boeing 767 with a virtual copilot that you talk with. However, is there any way to use it without speaking too loud because I have a flatmate and it's so embarassing for her to see me talking with a virtual machine pretending to fly an airplane for hours... The aircraft is Level D 767. Stupid questions, but would like to know if there is ways to use flight simulator as quietly as possible. Anyone else embarrassed of the hobby? And sorry my english, I'm trying to learn...

Why are you still using FS2004? Why haven't you switched to FSX?

Everytime I start FS9, my heading is about 30-45 degrees off. I thought the culprit might be some recent scenery I installed/activated, but I uninstalled and still the same issue. I have deleted fs9.cfg and allowed it to build a new one, and the issue remains. Also tried to start with default (C172/KSEA) and no change. This one really has me stumped. Any ideas? I've recently got back into simming and already have purchased an addon or two, but now looking to upgrade the visuals. I am looking at installing REX for FS9. Would people say this is a worthwhile investment? Are there better similar products out there? What is the flight planner like, is it good? Also while i can run FS9 and the iFly 737NG smoothly (25fps) at the minute with default weather, i would like to know if REX would give me a framerate hit! Sorry for lots of questions!

Anyone know why my aircraft suddenly pitches up when about to intercept an ILS? I am on a 30 degree angle approaching the localizer and the GS needle is above me. As soon as the localizer needle starts to move the aircraft turns to intercept and suddenly pitches up. I have to push the yoke and increase throttle to regain control. My intercept speed is about 130 knots. I must be doing something wrong. BTW I have trying to complete my registration on the Eaglesoft website for 2 days and have not received my confirmation email. Anybody know what's the most up to date traffic program? I'm currently using Flight1's Ultimate Traffic. Traffic density is excellent at 100% but a lot of the liveries are now old. I'm looking for payware because I would rather pay to have an all in one package than install new stuff into my UT installation which I don't even know how to do. I fly airliners so I don't mind if it doesn't have military. Any help greatly appreciated

Hi Forever I've used an on-board sound card. Today I installed a dedicated PCI sound card, disabled the on-board sound in the bios setting and noticed that I can now add an additional cloud layer with no drop in frame rates. Sim was already running silky smooth - this has just allowed more cloud detail. Cheers Jont

Hi, I bought an application that requires FS2004 to run in windowed mode. I recall, In the (distant) past I had an application/module(?) installed that would hide the top window bar. Does anyone know what application I mean, because I clearly have forgotten it. Thanks, Egbert P.S. I use Windows 7

I'm thinking about giving the Captain Sim 727 a shot. I have a thing for tri-jets. I have checked out several reviews but still unable to find some of the info I'm looking for. Is it considered a "lite" aircraft? What I mean is, are the flight plans and way points automatically inserted into the aircraft's navigation system like on CLS planes? I came across one review that mentioned there is no V speed calculation. How are you guys getting your V speeds? I hear the Dream Fleet version is suppose to be better with a more in-depth system simulation. I will probably end up getting that as well but when I'm not doing a serious flight, I enjoy the 'lite' plane…

Hi all. I posted this question in the scenery forum a couple of weeks ago but got no response so thought I'd try here where us traditionalists hang out. Since tidying up my user and AI aircraft I started experimenting with some payware airports which were short of mipmaps and decided to take a picture of something I've often noticed but never investigated- the effect had by some chainlink fences. The fence texture is just a plain 8 bit bmp. The user and AI planes are identical- they're both Microsoft's original C172. The effect has been apparent for as long as I remember but it seems some objects don't cause it. What is it about the fence that allows AI to res…

Hi I reinstalled my CalClassics C-46 today to use along with my other Buffalo aircraft. I also installed the Marcus Hellwig repaints for the CalClassics C-46 but both of them will not initialize in the aircraft selection window. Would anyone have any answers for that please. Hey mates, I'm using the nice Tel Aviv scenery and just made a flight in/out. But everytime I'm experiencing the same problems with the frames. When approaching (doesn't matter which RWY or approach) or when departing frames going down. It's not a slight show but you sometimes see it. Normally having locked 40fps. But at LLBG they are going down to 15-25fps depending on aircraft. Is there a change to bring up the frames? Maybe with deleting some useless .bgl? Well, I downloaded the installer and the Air France package it was supposedly installed correctly, but when I start fs9 and go to the Paris airport all I see is default AI no Air France. What am I doing wrong?

Hi everyone, I have downloaded the Kalitta Posky Boeing 747-200 Freighter for FS2004. I am also using AES from Aerosoft and would like to use this ground service equipment for this aircraft but just realised that this model also come with here default gse. So using both woud result in overlapping gse, only for the lowerdeck compartments that means. I can keep the default gse for the maindeck and the bulk hold, because that is not simulated in AES. I have checked this aircraft.cfg but cannot find a line where this is mentioned and can be removed. Has anyone here experience with his? 'Cause I would love to know how to remove it. Nice to see they are rethinking the whole business. Amongst other things, I would sorely miss the ability to generate AI traffic by airport, using their wonderful utility. I'm sure this may have something to do with the nearly 81,000 downloads of the WOAI installer this year! Dear readers! I was wondering about the visibility in fs9. Is it possible to program it where below weather clouds are 10 m visibility, but clear visibility above the clouds (where is no weather) like in reality? For now, when I change the visibility to 40 miles fx in 30.000 ft everything from 0 ft and up are with the same visibility. Regards, ÞS

Hi all, I am bashing my head against the wall trying to install the (now closed) Project Opensky Wedgetail for FS9. The file from the archive website (link below) only includes the model file and textures, but not the base package required. Is their any way to reduce the closest point of approach in radar contact for waypoints? it seems that my autopilot wants to start turns early and as a result doesn't pass close enough to the waypoint for radar contact to validate the waypoint. This leads to the ATC going balistic and directing me back to the missed waypoint. It seems at the moment I have to pass within 1 mile of the way point. Is there a way to increase this distance? cheers allio
