I don't fly at night in FS9 much as things are usually so dark I can't see what I am doing. Before I go round scrabbling through dozens of possible settings and trying to change this by trial and error, maybe someone could help me with what they feel may be the most likely suspects. Once upon a time, lighting and night seemed fine but clearly some settings have been altered somehow... In any case, it takes a lot of the pleasure out of flying at night - especially upon arrival at the destination airport, where, even with landing lights on, it's very hard to see where one is going. The screenshots are approach to KJFK (FSDreamTeam version) - not taken over water of cour…

I've got a problem, recently. I switched my AI Traffic over from RetroAI Traffic (what I normally fly with) to modern just for a change of pace. I use GAITraffic 3.03 (BTW, does anyone know what happened to them?). Well, when I loaded the sim up at FSDT KJFK, FPS was, get this, 5 FPS. Five. Unacceptable Slideshow. So, I went on a quest, freeing up over 100 GB of hard drive space, reinstalling the traffic, making sure that the NVIDIA Card I have was running the program, this that and the other, and I managed to get my FPS to a steady 12, but I used to be able to run all the same settings with a solid 30 FPS limited. What's happened? If I kill the AI Traffic, FPS soars to …

Hello All, I was wondering if anyone is, knows of, or is planning on working on an update for FSDT KORD. Just a simple AFCAD update for the new runways and taxiways. It would be amazing if someone would do this (I don't have these skills myself). FSDT has already said they will NOT be doing an AFCAD update for KORD on FS9. Thanks in advance! gmcg

Hi, I am currently considering whether to purchase the PMDG 747 for FS9 for some long haul flying. I am very impressed with the ifly 737 and since the PMDG 747 is now quite old, I was wondering how the two aircraft compare in terms of visuals, systems modelling or any other comparisons that will help me decide whether or not to purchase. Thanks, Kev

OK so in wrld of txtspk 1 "likes" kwik options... ...and OK so maybe it's an idea just to have a button to "agree" or "disagree" rather than have to actually say so. But you know, "Liking" a post outside Facetwit is so ... irrelevant. I don't give a damn if you "like" my post, sir, if that is what you really mean. And to find my post "dumb" is just plain insulting! Perhaps the admin could do a little fine tuning of the idiot button range available to us here?

In the file library there is a new scenery for Ancona Falconara Italy (LIPY). The scenery is very nice! Payware quality. It is a donationware scenery, but if you don't want to donate the readme file tells you what file to delete to get rid of the donationware signs in the scenery. The scenery is made by Gianluca Giovannini and Team Phoenix. The file name is zz_-_ancona_falconara_LIPY_2013_phoenix.zip (just so no one gets confused this is a FS9 scenery)

I have selected "Options>Settings>General>System Time" in the FS9 options, but when FS9 starts up, it is still persisting in starting up with "Flight Time" (Time setting for the flight when it was saved which I can set to any time so desired). I have tried with the fs9 "Other>default flight" Same thing.. I have tried deleting my fs9.cfg file and letting fs9 rebuild it, same thing. Introductory Flight: Same thing. Yes, my system is displaying the correct current time. I am overlooking a line item for this selection in my fs9.cfg file if editing there is needed. There is no such problem with FSX. I can choose either "flight time" or "syst…

Good morning, I seem to have a problem with the textures at Heathrow airport at night. This has only happened in the last few days and only at this airport? I first noticed the problem with Aerosoft Mega Airport Heathrow 2008, uninstalled that, installed UK2000 Heathrow Extreme V2, had the same problem so uninstalled that and still have the same problem with the default heathrow but only when it starts to get dark and at night time? I am completely at a loss as to what the problem could be as I haven't installed anything recently apart from the new version of AES 2.33 and I have uninstalled that too. If anyone can help or have any suggestions, I would be m…

AirDailyX is reporting that RSR has advised PMDG is to release their 737, 747 V2 and 777-2 aircraft for this soon to be released platform. Apparently the Triple 7 is to be 'the first cab off the rank.' With this news there appears to be no impediment (other than the EULA) for P3D to assume the mantle (sorry AMD/ATI) of preferred sim from FSX , and perhaps even FS9 for many of us. Please be aware P3D 2.0 is still a 32bit app.

I'd be curious to know what keeps creating these cfg files in my main FS9 folder. They all have names which use non-standard characters - ÿÿÿÿ.CFG and the like. They contain just this: [engine.0] accumulated_time=0.000000 [engine.1] accumulated_time=0.000000 Googling it didn't lead to anything... but I know I am the world's worst 'Googler'! Anyone else have the same kind of thing? Martin

When landing with Nav on, touchdowns at some airports have always been slilghtly off. (Portland is always right) But now others are now also slightly (100 ft.) right. KSEA has always been right on, as is KPHX, and others. Any idea what's up?

I have tried to source them by looking for missing alpha textures in scenery textures, ai textures with no result. What could it be? Note that I don't get such issue at Flytampa's. Thanks G.V.

Good evenig, I am still having problems with my Heathrow scenery. Since last week half the AI aircaft are blank textures and I don't know why? I haven't added any other traffic files for few weeks and can't figure it out. I really need some help. I uninstalled the whole of FS9 and reinstalled making sure the FS9.1 update was installed but still have the same problem. Seems to be a texture problem. I have a screenshot with UK2000 Heathrow Extreme but after uninstalling that still same problem with default scenery. I look forward to replies Kind Regards Gavin Moss Here is screenshot:

Dear friends, Since a few weeks I get a complete erronous heading indication on my RMI and magnetic compass. This happens in every aircraft from Cessna to iFly B737 or PMDG 747-400F At the runway 34 at Seattle the real heading (of the runway) is 340°, the compass and RMI indicates 290° At runway 26 at EBOS the actual heading is 260° and I read on my compass and RMI 124° Flying a iFly 737 from Brussels to Birmingham the aircraft is following the programmed course in the FMC - tot the wast but the indication on the display is completely out of course... the heading is about 175° to the southeast... Is it possible that my FS2004 lost his geographical north? …

Hi, I am looking for an Airbus A319 which shoud have the model most closest to the real thing. I have looked at Wilco but I am not too sure if the Wilco is worth it . I have PA Airbuses but those are without VC. What If I buy the Wilco can I merge the VC with the PA's ? And will have free nav data ? FS Labs has a WIP. I want it for FS9 as right now I am using that on my laptop as my dekstop which was running FSX has a burnt mobo VRM and is currently under replacement and knowing Gigabyte I do not expect them to return it within 10-15 days.

Hmm, yes it is definitly more! I went from FS98/FS2000/FS2004/FSX. Bought computers to match up, but when I add some nice scenery, some planes, and such in FSX, even my i7 comes to a halt. And yes, tried a lot of tweaks, and some actually do something. But still, somewhere I miss fluidity. Just for the heck of it, installed FS2004 again, throwed in the heaviest planes and scenery I had, and hey!, fluid and top notch frames! Whatever I do, it keeps going and going. Weather, clouds density to 12, max AI planes, fsnav, all kind of tools, sceneries, you name it. It still gives me a smooth ride! With everything to to max, added SweetFX, and behold, its a dream …

Hi Flight Sim Buffs, As many may know, over at the Ford Tri-Motor Project site we had 88 electronic Jigsaw Puzzles. The puzzles are of course focussed FS2004 and the images created for the Project Site. But that does not limit the entertainment you will enjoy from tinkering with these puzzles no matter what sim you fly. . The current puzzles have proved to be very popular with over 24,000 downloads to date and many seem to have enjoyed most, if not all, of them. This thread is to advise that we, Edward Moore and I, have put in a bucket of time and effort and have now more than doubled the number of puzzles available - added 123 new ones - yes 123!!! - now a…

Hello there! I'm eager to fly the maddog with the fully analogue panel. However, there's no documentation around which explains the programming of the INS (it's different from the CIVA). Furthermore, do I even need to setup the INS since I'm able to program the Route into the CMA900? And what do I need to do to set the autopilot up to follow the CMA/INS?. I hope someone out there knows more about this topic and is willing to share his knowledge! Best regards, Felician

Hi All I have the TDS 787 with my chosen panel all set up and flying great, however, one thing bugs me and that is the brightness of the default beacon, nav and strobe lights it's really low although I think the landing lights are not too bad. Can anyone help me please with the required editing of the lights in the cfg to make them brighter please. I just don't know how to do this myself. Many thanks in advance. Malcolm "Rooster" Hancock

Simmers ... although I personally operate with a TripleHead2Go outfit I am curious as to whether any of you are using (or have seen used) FS9 on the 21:9 ultrawide 29" monitors typically available from ASUS, Dell and LG and which run at 2560 x 1080 resolution. Any comments welcomed.
