Hello, I've just started to try and make a livery for the PMDG 747, its going well but I've got a slight issue. I can't seem to find a template for the thumbnail like is included in other PMDG aircraft. Is there one around or do I just have to make one from scratch? Thanks

Hello guys. This is my first post here, even though I've been lurking for quite a while now... This is a post to announce a new livery for the 747-400ER Qotsll V3: South African Airways "new" paint. After wanting to fly through Africa, Europe and Middle East I looked for a nice SAA livery, but all I could find was some squishy models with inaccurate color palette and logo distortions (not saying mine is perfect). I then decided to give it a try and here it is. I chose the words (from a real SAA 747 by the way) SHOSHOLOZA for this livery and here is what it means (just copy pasted from Wikipedia): "Shosholoza" is a Fanagalo song that was sung by the mixed tribes …

Title says it all - anyone know of one. I'm thinking of something similar to a p_51 or Connie bare metal aircraft. How would someone paint that? I've seen several tutorials on creating brushed metal etc using the gradient tool which works "partially" but the foe and aft sections do not line up properly. I assume I can/should spend some time tweaking fore and aft until the do. just wondering if there's a slicker (easier?) way. Thanx, Vic

I haven't managed a lift-off on a repaint yet and my biggest problem seems to lie in the initial preps to set up the start of the project. I have the Paint Kit (Aerosoft Otter), the DXTBMP file converter, a copy of SketchBook and Paint.net, a fairly good idea of how I want to re-paint the Otter but what do I do first and next ? Is there a good starter tutorial you might recommend that covers the moves you should or have to make before you reach for the paint bucket? I saw one fellow go straight to the Airplane.cfg and make a copy of a plane and set it up as what I guessed was going to be his paint target, I'm not sure if he took the Paint Kit files , exploded the…

Just purchased the Milviz 310Redux but my favoprite model was an all black version that is not available in this release so I've decided to take a shot at repainting it myself. Hey, I know this is a pretty (read:very) big request, and there's no time limit, but can someone give me a complete tutorial on how to use Photoshop to repaint the PMDG 747 v3? All those tutorials online I've found assumes that you know how to use Photoshop already, and it's not helpful. Basically, what I'm asking is that you teach me like I've never even heard of Photoshop before. Thanks!!

(FS Version: FS2004) I have been repainting the PA A320. Occasionally, the mid section (fuse_2) appears blurry. I have to zoom right in and then out again for it to sharpen up. It happens every time a change back to spot plane view and also whenever I switch between full screen and windowed screen. It is saved in the same DXT format as all the other texture files are (extended 32 bit 888-8). Any help would be much appreciated. See attached screenshot. Regards, George

I do remember there was some old adverts that used to be up, but as time has gone a lot of ASW UK photos and branding seems to have disappeared off the internet. Thanks for any help.

Well I put a request in the forum for some N number changes on the A2A birds but decided to give it a shot myself. I started out with Gimp but I decided to get the latest PhotoShop instead to finish it out. I am using Photoshop and dxtbmp for these paints if it matters to answer my question. Thank you to scottb613 for helping me get this far. I have changed the N number and have been able to successfully get the paint into P3Dv3 but the spinner is a matte grey instead of chrome. How do I go about fixing this or just painting it to a certain color if I can't have the chrome look back?

I'm brand new to painting and I decided my first would be on the Alabeo C177. I finished my piant, then pasted it onto a blank hd layer (white kit) then put another white layer on top to create an HD texture. It looked fantastic in the paint kit, but it the sim it just comes out as a very odd dull Matte, i'd really like it shine like the other paints that come with the 177. Well... my version of it :) Should be up in the library soon. 788 & 789. GE engines as default but RR textures included so you can manually edit .ini & .cfg files. If anybody wants to use this as a foundation and create RL spec one then let me know and I'll send you the link to a PSD with what I did. All vector files here so quality as good as it can be.

Hello everyone. My dad is busy working on a around the world flight, and finishing up some requested paints for the A2A Mustang. And I would like to do up a couple of repaints for the M.A.A.M sim B25. Does anyone know if their is a paint kit out for it I am sorry to be asking, but I have looked all over the net trying to find one with no luck, and I am not good at working on already made repaints. ( I should say at modifying an existing repaint.) Anyone help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Amanda.
