Hello, So I am working on a repaint of the PMDG 747-8 and was curious to know what font size you use for the registration number so that it looks realistic on the aircraft and not too large or small? Also, I have an American flag image I would like to use as well to add to the fuselage but not sure what size to make that either. Thanks

  2. Hello, I recently purchased the commercial version of the FSPXAI Aorbus A350-900. I have Prepar3D V4 and i used the instructions for V4 for the installation. I downloaded and install some liveries and I found that all liveries look darker than they should be, It is like they are seen through a photographic neutral density filter. All other FSPXAI (A330-200/300, B787-8/9) are fine. Does anybody knows what could be happening? Thanks Juan

  3. Hi, I really enjoy flying the stock Mooney Bravo so I decided to paint a version in my own colours. It has been a significant learning curve as I’ve never done it before and far from an expert in Gimp, however, I now have something half decent which will keep me happy for a few days... lol BUT, unless I’m missing something, the Mooney Bravo is only ‘half’ modelled and then the sides are replicated to match, which is fine as I have worked out which bits go where for my colours (with a LOT of trial and error). Unless I’m missing something. So, my key question is: I have added my registration to the lower rear fuselage in a nicer format than the fsx default BU…

Haven't been on here for some time... So what have I been doing? I started reworking and updating my Majestic Software Dash-8 Q400 Flybe liveries I released the week around Valentines Day 2018. Currently back at the paintshop are: G-ECOD, G-ECOE, G-ECOH, G-ECOI, G-FLBD, G-JECG, G-JECP, G-JECY, G-JEDP, G-JEDR, G-JEDT, G-JEDU, G-JEDV, G-JEDW, G-KKEV and G-PRPG They need some more editing as some parts aren't as immersive as I would like them to be. Flybe G-ECOB already is available at my Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uwzFO7DZ5iK_wcJ8IC_eVRXE1kI4GT5z Some previews of the upcoming new and reworked liveries: G-ECOI exterior with cust…

Hello guys I am using MT6 currently. I was searching for a method to add liveries in it. Altough it contains all the liveries except very few, which is not a big problem for me but was still trying to add liveries. It turns out that there is no such way for MT6 as it is in UT2 and WOAI but i did find some paintkits provided by the develepor himself. Now i have the paintkit but a bit confused on how to create a realworld airline livery. Is there any specific software or program that is designed particularly for aircraft repaints? I tried using a program called Paint.net which was a big dissapointment. Is there any good software?

I am looking for miltary a/c fonts for my repaints--I need fonts for: RAF, ROYAL NAVY (and its FLEET AIR ARM aircaft) US NAVY, USAF, USAAF, LUFTWAFFE, FRENCH AIR FORCE AND NAVY. Simmer's Paint Shop no longer exists, it seems--or am I wrong? Any help would be appreciated. If you have some fonts you can send me, pm me and I will give my email address--you can then make a zip and send it using the free service of https://www.filemail.com/ Thanks

I have a repaint that I am trying to use on a Faib 737-300...... I opened the bmp image with DXTBMP and I believe the image is DXt3 1024x1024 16 bit...by default..I am guessing. This is saved and this is what I get. https://imgur.com/F0qV8Pl Its got purple on it and the cockpit glass is missing. This is for p3dv4.3.......Do I need to convert it or can I to something else to get this right. Piedmont is no longer operating..I worked for them 1970-1971 and just trying to populate some of the old airports with some of their "old" stuff.. Any ideas or suggestions, would be most grateful. Good evening ! Just a small question about the paintkit. Is it able that the two winglets can be painted different from each other ? I don´t talk about the big base part of the winglet, I mean the curve on the lower side. Actually I´m painting Air Berlin/TUIfly´s 'D-ABMU' which has the red Air Berlin winglet on the right and the yellow TUI winglet on the left side. The lower side can be painted in the "pmdg_737NGX_fuselage_3" texture but is only available one time. Actually it looks so: I think you all know what I´m talking about Help would be nice

Hello, so recently I decided to download the paint kit for the 747 so I could start trying to make my own livery's. I followed a video on youtube which was for the 777 and was able to figure out how to do it. I started by making a simple unmarked version of the 747-400erf in all white so that I can pretend to do test flights and such and was able to load it in P3D I used the text tool to add a registration number to the exterrior but that's it. Now I want to make a new livery that has color on it but not sure how to do that in Photoshop. So can anyone familiar with repainting tell me what's the best tool in PS to select an area of the plane and fill it in with a color o…

Hello I would like to customize an AIR FRANCE Caravelle created by late AFG group to make it similar to the one we have here at our club in Avignon. I know how to make the modifications on the textures files because I'm good at Photoshop, and I tried but can't save the modifications on the livery because they say the file is locked... Being dummy at Windows, I'm looking for help. Modifications would be Simple : first level is modify the name and registration numbers (cabin, wings..) Second level lighten the metal texture who looks dirty, and apply a coat of white painting on 3/4 rear of the upper side of the wings. Any volunteer ?Thanks in advance

  15. Hello! I'm attempting my first repaint. It's a Carenado C206, and I'm using the blank BMP textures downloaded from Carendo's website. I've done a good bit of research into tutorials, examples, etc. in order to get just this far. My process has been as follows: -Open the BMP file with DXTBmp -Send to editor (in my case, GIMP) -Repaint in GIMP, adding layers in multiply mode -Save in GIMP (overwriting the imported file norm.bmp) -Reload after edit in DXTBmp -Test DDS (they all look OK - or at least, they look like the original BMP files) -Flip image & alpha -Save as DDS3 The aircraft textures in FSX will appear as desired. The problem i…

Hello, I was just wondering if any body might have a solution to this issue. I am in the process of creating a livery for myself and all was going really well for my first time. However after i saved the files but using the template files PMDG gave us the fuselage textures would not show up in game. The tail textures is created showed up perfectly fine but the fuselage would always be see through. This first link is a picture of the livery file within the SimObjects folder for the correct aircraft Livery file This second link is what keeps appearing in the game when trying to load the livery that i have created. In game photo As you…

  19. On May 25, 2018 a strong advocate of vintage aviation died in an accident in a D-17 Staggerwing outside Albuquerque/Santa Fe, New Mexico. The cause of the crash is under investigation with a final report yet to be issued. Pat Napolitano was a unique individual & genuine nice guy. You can read a lot about him online simply by googling. My challenge is this. Is anyone willing to create a repaint of the Mid-Continent Instruments & Avionics Beechcraft Staggerwing D-17S NC79091, nick named "Queenie" The Alabeo Staggerwing would make a great platform for said repaint & a fitting tribute to an aviation icon that we lost too soon. If anyone takes on the ch…

I finally finished my base for the freighter, however still a couple windows that QW didn't fix that needs to be plugged, but they aren't very noticeable. The Prime Air has been uploaded and awaiting approval along with a Prime Air PMDG 737-800BCF I did. Started working on the second QW 787 which will be FedEx. Think I'll do a base FedEx and probably a Panda one to accompany the 747's I did. After these will probably do Atlas, Polar and Polar DHL, maybe DHL after that. Will see if Stevedra wants todo the UPS one if there's interest. Prime Air FedEx

Hi Folks. I have been simming a long time and am able to change reg. numbers on the fuselage of aircraft. However, I'd like to change the reg. on the engines of the Carenado Phenom 300. The engines are split into two different panels with part of the reg. on the top half and the remainder on the bottom half of the engine cowling. Not only that, the two parts are curved as are the reg. letters. I am thinking about making selections and pasting a new image to work on and then pasting back onto the texture sheet but there is a lot to think about. I would appreciate any hints and tips. I am using PSP 2018 Ultimate and DXT2bmp. There does not seem to be a paint kit f…

  22. I have repainted the 742 and the underside of the aircraft is grey and off-white. There is a very distinct white square on the underside of the aircraft which, for the life of me, I can't find which one it is so I could paint it the correct color. Please see attached photo. https://s8.postimg.cc/ur0o03t11/CLS_747-200_white_box.jpg If anyone here can advise me on how to fix this problem, I'd appreciate it.

  25. Hi. I'm back with another series of 70's paints, this time for the fantastic A2A Piper Cherokee 180. I hope to do another 6 or so of classic styles from pictures I've found all over internet. Many of the designs will have that classic look from the late 60's into the late 70's when these planes looked their best (in my opinoin... lol). Look for them soon... in the mean time, here's the first two to roll out of my paint hangar. 36M and 75J. Both will come with wheel pant paints as will many that I do based on the original designs. All the best, James
