Hi folks,Altough I made many repaints for FLYII , I am not familiar with all the in and outs of making repaints for MSFS 2004.Importing -converting etc. with DXTBmp is something I never did before.My problem.I have a normal (looking) BMP file ,size 4 mb.1024x1024When I load it into DXTBmp and sent it to the editor( PSP )I can repaint the file.Reloaded in DXTBmp and can see my results. So far OK.When I want to save the file I cannot keep the filsesize at 4 mb.I can get it bigger and smaller but not the same size.When I load these files in MSFS the result looks very blurred.Please give me the golden tip?RegardsLeen de JagerPS Just opening the file in PSP and saving it , re…

I don't really understand this, and I'm sure it's a stupid question for you guys who do this all the time.I repainted a 747 once (meljet) and it worked fine. I actually repainted it in Paint. I have learned later that Paint is not the preffered program to do this in, and I figured that's why it's so hard to open any of the .bmp files in paint, and when I do, the a/c turns out just blank in FS if saved from Paint.So I went ahead and downloaded a trial version of Photo Shop CS. Now when I try to open the files, it still tells me it can't read the files.What am I doing wrong? and what is the best aircraft for me as a newbie to try to repaint?Please help!Thanks,Best regards,

I created some chrome effects using an alpha channel in Photoshop. When I turn on the exterior lighting on my aircraft, the chrome effect disappears. It reappears when I turn the exterior lighting off. Anyone else come across the problem?Tommy

The Military AI Project (MAIP) has the goal of developing frame rate friendly AI packages to populate the MSFS skies with military aircraft, including tankers, cargo, training, VIP and combat types. The project will attempt to use existing models (and new ones as they are released) with many repaints to represent various units of the military. The current plan is to release packages for each major command (ACC, AETC, AMC, ANG, AFRES, USAFE, PACAF, generally in that order. How many of you painters use a Wacom tablet of some sort. I know I use the mouse to draw my repaints and it really is not the best tool. I have been thinking about buying a Graphire 3 tablet so I can use the pen to draw. I would love to hear some feedback from painters on this.Mark.

HelloIm new at painting and I am trying to use the Paint Kit released by PMDG for the PMDG B737-800. I am using Paint Shop Pro ver 7. I do some paint work and then save it and put it in the proper texture folder. It is saved as a bmp.The problem is non of my paint work apprears. The aircraft is totally blank, no paint work.It may be the settings in Paint Shop Pro.Any help would be appreciated.Tom Jones

Hi to all,lets see if I can explain my problem well.I'm doing a repaint wich consists basicly in a front to back strip (rectangle shape) and the text identifying the Club. I've been trying to paint the new excellent freeware PWDT L-410 ( pwdt_l410fg.zip ) using the repaint kit that comes with it. The paint's included in the package is split into FG_fuse1.bmp and FG_wing1.bmp in the texture folder, but the FG_Repaint_Kit1.psd is one file with both of these included in the sheet.How do I split the FG_Repaint_Kit1.psd into FG_fuse1.bmp and FG_wing1.bmp when I'm done painting so that they show correctly on the aircraft? I use Photoshop.Any help appreciated.

Does anyone understand the paint kit that comes with Robert Versluys's 7E7? Am I supposed to paint it in pieces, or do I piece the nose, fuselage, and aft part of the plant together first? And if that's the case, how do I do that?I'm using Photoshop 7.0FS 2004Thanks, Nathan

Does Ai-Aardvark have reflective models for all of their aircraft? I repainted one to Western colors (It's here), but I don't have a reflective model, so if i used alpha channels, It shows up translucent!thx
