I have painted up the -900 OK by first painting the 900 Left and Right full then splitting up the paint into the Left and Right Side -800 files (not sure why 800 is in the 900 kit but..). Everything worked fine.I then tried the 800 and ran into a problem. Painted up the -800 full left/right and again split up the paint and pasted on the left/right -800 files inlcuded in the -800 kit. Problem is the 800 full must be too long becuase nothing aligns properly. I have manually fixed it but the back of the plane just simple will not line up 100%. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix.Mark

I'm kind of teaching myself how to do repaints and I think I'm getting the hang of it. I do have one question though. what's the easiest way to take the full left and right fuselage images and turn them into the single image with the fuselage "quartered"? I've tried cutting and pasting, but lining up the images is difficult. also, do I need to flatten the full fuselage images before bring them over? thanks in advance for any input

Hi allI have scanned in & imported a tailfin graphic for an aircraft that I am repainting. I have made a separate "Layer" in PaintShop Pro in which to apply my imported graphic. My question is how can I make this graphic semi tramsparent so that rivet lines and seams from the base models tailfin to show through the graphic?Can any of you advanced repainters out there tell me how this is done...I'm using Paintshop Pro 7.CheersGus

Hope u paint guru's can lend a hand. I'm new to repaints and know just enough to get myself into trouble. The picture is a C130 I just painted..note the blue bleed thru at the texture seam on the top of the fuselage (I assume this is from the blue fuselage belly stripe).What causes this & how does one correct it? Hi guys, this is my first ever post in an Avsim forum and hopefully the start of a very enjoyable hobby in aircraft repainting! Only one problem though - i dont know where to begin!! I've always wanted to take up repainting but it all looks and sounds so daunting, which is why im desperate for help! I'd like to know of any comprehensive tutorials that could help me get going and also advice on the best program(s) i will need to be using please! I had an Aerostar, a 602P. It's N-number was N602AC and it is now N700WG, as I sold it.I have plenty of pictures, and can e-mail anyone the pictures so you can make the texture.....I'd really like to have N602AC in my virtual hangar!Thanks!

What I want to do is make the side panels of my interior look like some kind of cloth, vinyl, or preferably, a quilted sound deadening blanket. I have PSP7 but I am no painter, and all I have is an ugly, plain flat color.Could someone suggest how I could give the panel a texture? The textures that come with PSP are too limited. I have tried downloading photos of some materials but they expand or contract when applied to panels of different size, so the effect is not very good.Thanks,John Woodward

I thought I'd get started by doing something easy, like changing the 2D interior views of my favorite repaint. Thought it would be easy.Wrong...Afer 2 hours, I figured out how to use the fill tool but it's all one color. The original uses some texturing and shadowing to give perspective to bends and contours in the vinyl and the view of the exterior don't have the reflective shine that the original did. Like a flat finish.I picked up the color from the re-paint but the 2d panel bitmaps don't look right.Would someone mind coaching me, step by step on how to go about doing this?? Hi,I'm pretty much a newbie to adding textures to planes. I have Photo Shop Pro (which I'm still trying to figure out) and I've downloaded textures for the new Eaglesoft Cessna IIS/P which are provided free.My problem is converting the downloaded files that are in *.psp format to *.bmp files that can be used by my addon program and FS2004. I can't figure out if the conversion is done in Photo Shop Pro or if I have to use another program to convert the files. I have an addon program that will add the textures to the aircraft but, here again, the files have to be *.bmp files. I'm new to this so forgive me if I sound ignorant to flight sim etiquette. My brothers and I have started a new virtual airline to amuse ourselves and would like to get a few planes painted. Problem is we have no logo's or design yet so that would be part of the job. I'm not sure what the etiquette is on having someone paint a plane for you in the flight sim community but in the sim racing community most guys do it for free. Hi there. I've been working on a repaint of Dimitri Samborski's excellent AN-24, and everything has gone well except for the propellor hub. When the propellor is not moving, everything is fine, but when it turns, for some reason, the hub gets a super-reflective surface.I've checked the alpha on both the stationary and moving prop bmp's, and there doesn't seem to be anything unusual. The hub texture itself is, as far as I can see, only on one bmp, which would make the difference between moving and stationary a puzzle.Unless there is a different texture for the moving prop hub? If so, I can't find it, and I've done a number of repaints before, although on different aircraft…

Just beginning to repaint acft. On my 2nd acft the lettering on the fuselage when viewed from an angle are blurred. Looking right at the fuselage frm either wing tip and the ltrs are perfect but as u pan fwd or aft they begin to blur.What causes this and how do u correct it?Tks for taking the time with a newbie painter.Joe
