Flew the Duke on my favorite route, from Napa to Reno, NV. This route offers a lot of scenery, from bay wetlands, coastal mountains, Sacramento Valley farmland, the Sierra Nevada, and Nevada desert. With Tileproxy photoreal scenery, there's always something different to look at. The Duke covers the flight in less than 45 minutes. Took me just nine minutes to reach my cruising altitude of FL250. Then I settled for a 300KTAS fast cruise in to Reno. Enjoy the screenshots! John Napa County Airport just off the port wing Fairfield, California --Solano Mall just off the port engine Lake Berryessa -- Manmade lake which flooded the old town of…

I've purchased way too much payware in the past several weeks--3 Carenado aircraft. Decided to purchase just one more, the RealAir Turbine Duke to compliment the piston Duke I already have. It's everything members here have said it is--a little rocket that gets up into the flight levels in a hurry and gets where it's going in a bigger hurry. And it can take off and land virtually anywhere. On to the scenery--the first shot is just over Albuquerque, with the Rio Grande below. For the first half of the trip out of Albuquerque, the scenery is high desert puncuated with the occasional bit of farmland. About a hundred miles from Lubbock, the scenery becomes a steady stre…

Going from 6000 ft to 0 ft in this area with this bird ain't easy. I lost 50% of my cargo income due to some aggressive impatient flying I did. ARG! We're up, gotta get down to water..... ...oops, on wrong side of cliff. Ack, going hard right, was too already low to make it up and over left side... ...ah, there's the drop off point. Finally found it. No way I'm gonna decend fast enough from here... ...looking down as I pass over to make a turn around.. ...line it up lowish now coming from other direction.. ..yeah, your Memory Sticks are coming soon.. ...finally made it.. ..now gotta get out of here somehow, good thing …

I haven't explored this area in FSX before, so thought I'd give it a try. Took off from Rapid City and headed west for about ten minutes, then south into the heart of Black Hill country. Tileproxy makes this an enjoyable place to visit. Decided to fly Carenado's Cessna minus the wheel pants. First few shots were taken as I was departing Rapid City, the rest are in hill country. I visited the Black Hills once as a small child, close to 50 years ago. Don't remember anything at all from that trip, so Tileproxy will have to be my experience of the area. Enjoy! John

This is what I have so far,Remember,No Support from PMDG,If you alter these files! Back up your data! go to,Your Drive\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\NavData,to access these text documents. I don't know if it makes a difference in what order these entry's are added, but from looking at PMDG's file structure,it looks like they are filed by latitude. For example this number in the HOMEY KXTA12 fix,(37.233056) At least we can get to the VFR FAF for the runways now,I will try my luck on instrument approaches next. Add to wpNavAPT,(This is for US Cities-X Las Vegas KXTA area 51 airport,I think the default runways are offset a little from this add-on scenery.) …

I had the pleasure of visiting this national park while installing a system at a client in the park in '99. It's an overlooked national park and somewhat isolated--the nearest stoplight is 72 miles away. It's also fairly high in elevation--the Saratoga had to struggle a bit to gain altitude. As usual, the scenery was generated by Tileproxy. And surprise, I am flying something other than the Carenado King Air! In case you want to fly to the park and have Tileproxy, takeoff from runway 13 at Wayne Wonderland airport in Loa and just follow that general heading. Anyway, hope you enjoy the screenshots! John

  17. I normally post screenshots of the liveries I paint in the PMDG Livery Availability forum. These pictures are not based on painting a livery, but just flying in FSX. They highlight how great the experience is flying in FSX using various products available. Departure was from Wrangell, AK (PAWG) and flying the short hop over to Ketchikan (PAKT). PAKT was overcast and based on the wind direction I could not use the ILS approach, so it had to be a manual approach using the terrain avoidance features of the aircraft displays. Departing PAWG: On Final into PAKT (slight crosswind to adjust for): Almost over the threshold: Touchdown: At the end of the…

Carenado's new King Air over the grand canyon. Love this livery, and I think Tileproxy does a good job with the Grand Canyon. A couple of shots capture the muddy Colorado river below. I've always been impressed with FSX's default mesh--they cover the U.S. and much of central Europe very well. Enjoy! John
