The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Here are some random shots using SweetFX 1.4 in DX10 with my own adjustments to the SweetFX settings. These are the original shots with no editing. I particularly like how SweetFX allows you to obtain more realistic colouring. EDIT: MODERATOR WARNING: Large Images Cheers Steve

A brand new service starts in the UK soon with Virgin Little Red offering services from Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Manchester to London Heathrow, this will bring about some much needed competition with the current BA monopoly on regional routes into London. So, I decided to paint the expected livery of the aircraft EI-DEO, the aircraft currently belongs to Aer Lingus and will be leased to Virgin for the operation of the route. She will be on Avsim very soon if anyone wants to replicate the first flight starting Sunday the 31st of March.

I dont know if I am the only nutter who does this but after flying 20 hours from Singapore back to Atlanta today, promptly fired up FS9 to repeat part of my real world flights this week running between Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Sorry about the image quality of the real shots, but my iphone 5 doesnt work that well taking pictures during take off! This is a set of Real and Simulated pictures of Cathay flight 735 which I flew on March 19th. The real jet was a B744, but as I like flying the old B742's, thats what I flew in FS9 tonight :-)

There is something very satisfying after a flight to minimums, then manually greasing on a 150 MT airplane in moderate snow and low vis. Flight into Montreal (CYUL) this evening from Halifax -_- :

Just a couple of pic... Im flying on an old Dell XPS (quad core) I bought used, an old computer I built years ago, an old laptop passed around the family, an Nvidia Geforce GT 610 graphics card, a couple of Saitek Throttles, an old CH Products yoke, OpusFX (great program), REX textures, megasceneryearth's Tennessee tiles and a nice comfortable spot down in the basement.. It's amazing how real this can look. I like the default CRJ, using the Project Magenta software I bought years ago, and some GoFlight stuff I also have had lying around for years. Everything is smooth as silk... I think Ill stop tweaking and just fly for a while.

Cue the Ride of the Valkyries music... No, its not out yet. these are just shots of the external model used as ai in a mission done with the mission builder. Since its not out yet, theses are just shots of the external views, no cockpit yet. However, it should be out soon and if its as good as previous DCS titles, it should be fantastic! This is the only DCS aircraft, where I can say Ive had the privilege to fly back in the early 90's, so I'm naturally curious to see how it flies and what is modeled. It was a long time ago and I forgot a lot of it so its time to dig out my old manuals somewhere in the attic. Rob

Taking my 'personal' P-40 out for a ride in the NZ sunset. Don't Panic!, there is a trek and hitchhiker's guide reference or two on the plane. This one was taken awhile ago, but was just a particularly nice moody shot of the plane. Cheers TJ
