The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Prepar3D v2.0 doesn't need any tweaking out of the box like FSX did, but for a lower end system like mine (2.53Ghz processor and GTX 470 graphics card), there is a bit of trial and error required to find the best balance of visual quality and performance. Here are some shots I have taken while messing around with the settings. Keep in mind that in some shots, I turned things way up to see what things looked like, even if I couldn't run it very well. HDR is on in all shots, I believe (minus the one of the Extra VC and F-22...those don't appear to have it on).

Flying over California, between LA and Central California headed north. The route is one of the most heavily traveled air routes in the world. Hope you enjoy the screenshots--a nice clear day with great visibility... John

This edition includes additional airports both American and European. You shoud make out the new European FSX AI, unfortunately it's at Aerosofts worst/poorly made Mega Airport Amsterdam. Usually Aerosoft products are of very good to excellent quality. Should tell you, no editing involved except in sizing and sharpening. I hope you enjoyed this pictorial, as always commentary is greatly appreciated...Darryl

Just tried adding OSM and photo scenery for my home town. Looks pretty good actually. The shape and position of most buildings are very accurate, although they obviously look a bit generic. Still it's very easy to recognize not just the city but individual neighborhoods and even buildings.
