The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Here are some grabs of a flight I did earlier this week starting at Dortmund EDLW in Western Germany and flying East towards Magdeburg, Berlin and over the Oder into Poland before landing at Babmost Zielona Góra. Shortly after take off in Dortmund, there is quite a bit of turbulence, so I try to climb above it, eventually getting to 8,000 feet and cruising towards Magdeburg After passing Magdeburg, we head towards Berlin, passing along the south of it. Brandeburg airport can be seen to the left and it's starting to get dark, and traffic is picking up on the autobahn below Finally, we r…

After vowing to never go back to FSX... I refunded P3D v2, skipped going back to 1.4 and went back to FSX.. Having a MUCH better time then I did a year ago on an AMD card and having actual fun again with great results. Mix of DX9/DX10

  6. Just a few shots from my first actual flight in P3D2. Please note: I have purposely reduced sliders and check boxes in P3D2 to their minimum or near minimum settings whilst I test the impact of all of the new features on my machine, hence the thread title. This is not meant as a showcase of what it can look like, just an example of where it is when you crank things down. All default scenery (not that you won't see that clearly  ) custom traffic, OpusFSX, and the AXE only.

  8. Hey All Recently I have become interested in learning how to fly helicopters, which X-plane does quite well. I have a selection of heli to choose from but keep coming back to the ND art BK 117 for it's aesthetics and flyability. I also recently decided to make a "chopper playground" for myself. Since I had Aerosoft Chicago from back in the day, I converted it with FS2Xplane and then added some nice photoscenery with G2XPL and voila, my playground is ready. I am trying to get the slow maneuvers down, basically hover, hover taxi and take/off and landing. I though what better place to get it right than on top of some building helipads. Departing Meigs Fiel…

  9. Just got P3DV2 installed a couple of hours ago, after some fiddling around with the settings I've gone out for a test flight in the Iris F22 Raptor (U2 Special). Took off with a high performance climb out, afterburners and a 70 degree nose up attitude. This bird sure can perform . Beyond that just regular AP testing, and then back down to KJFK. Frames were good all-around, 30-ish FPS at KJFK, settings all maxed out except building shadows disabled and AI road traffic/boats down to 15%. In cruise at FL600 I was getting about 65-70 frames, pretty nice. No addons installed whatsoever, no editing whatsoever. This is the game completely stock. Can't wait to s…

Prepar3d v2 is delightful for slower GA flights. I still use FS X for "heavy artillery" stuff like tubeliners, but in time I will - like many others - probably give up on FSX when most of the airliners function properly. Anyways, here some shots from a flight between ESSA - ESGG ...Cloud surfing. I did experience a bug with carburator icing despite the Bonanza using direct fuel injection. It doesn't have a carburator. Here you can see the load on the graphics card. When we can use PMDG airliners I will probably have to reduce some settings, otherwise my card will take a pounding. ILS21 approach loaded nicely in the GPS Little bit…

This post is an addendum for this post: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/427529-simple-solution-for-shadows-and-loss-of-fps-or-the-tweaking-has-begun/ 1. The distance of the shadows by default As you will see the differences are very obvious. Ultra High Medium Low 2. The distance of the shadows all set to 12000 in the cfg As you will see the differences are far less obvious. Performance goes up though with each lower setting! Ultra High Medium Low 3. The distance of the shadows above New York As you will see there there seems to be no difference at all. You will have to download the pictures and view them one a…
