The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Here's one of a long list of paints I'm working on. Fictional repaint of course. It's really sad that Air Jamaica is not around anymore, because they had a brilliant paint scheme. Straight from my fsx, no edits.

I've set out yesterday to try and improve the appearance of the clouds I've been getting in FSX, particularly the cumulus. I made a 'minor' change and bam! Finally got some nice, volumous clouds happening. Saw a particularly big-arse one form up so I buzzed around it and took a few screen shots. All I changed in the default 'Fair Weather' settings was the ceiling on the cumulus, to 25500 ft, and while most of the clouds never get anywhere near that height, this one did, and it's made a huge difference to the overall appearance of my cumulus clouds. These particular clouds are FEX 'String of Pearls', but I don't think the particular texture is all that i…

Hi guys, these are screenshots of my first Buffalo flight. In fact this was my first flight for a virtual airline ever, so just a short hop! Flight BFL1011 from Yellowknife CYZF to Hay River CYHY, just a ways across the Great Slave Lake, 55min is the listed time. The aircraft is DC-3 G-GPNR, with a paintjob by Markus Hellwig. Taxiing to runway 33 in front of Yellowknife Tower. Climbing out, after a long left turn. Clear weather, no wind - ideal conditions for my first flight. About to get my feet wet. I decide to fly west of the direct route to stay above land for as long as possible. That water looks cold! Nothing much happening. Droning …

I'll let these brief hastily taken shots speak for themselves. (the only thing I did for these shots was use SweetFX 1.5 with SMAA injection, LumaSharpen, and a bit of Sepia toning to give the sunlight some life) In short, I can't see myself EVER going back to FSX after this experience. The best part that you can't see from the screenshots is how SMOOTH the sim is. Even with all the night lighting, I'm getting 30+ frames and it's silky buttery smooth with no stutters or choppiness. I still can't describe the feeling this is giving. I'm completely and totally blown away.

A selection of raw screen grabs from P3D2; note the lovely lighting effect from the shadows feature, in Pic 2. That is what P3D2 is all about; increasing immersion. In case anyone notes that there is not a lot of autogen in the first screenies it is because they are in the Canadian Arctic (Inuvik), so although there's not a huge amount to see, it's actually pretty visual for a default depiction of the Arctic (albeit with FTXG textures). FPS in all of these shots is at 33.9 (I set P3D2 frames to unlimited, and lock at 34 FPS using RadeonPro). Vsync is on and there are no stutters; my P3D2 set up is the smoothest, highest performing sim I have yet enjoyed in 1…

I tried a bunch of SweetFX presets and felt every single one of them was terrible. They all tried too hard IMO and were overly dramatic with the settings.. Everything I tried looked fake when FSX only really needed just a "slight" change.. Just a little *umph* to tighten things up.. This is my attempt at dealing with it.. It might be worse for you.. Who knows.. For me though.. This is perfect. Link to presets: https://www.mediafire.com/?4pgv5kkc6g944xl Sorta hard to see the differences in resized forum screenshots until you load it and toggle between the two.
