The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

These weren't 'staged' screenshots; they're just spontanous points where I hit the 'V' key during the departure. I had really heavy weather & clouds throughout and P3D2 just was not phased in the slightest.

I've set these up as the desktop background for my PC I have dedicated for FSX. Quite enjoying have my desktop rotate through these, so I thought I'd offer them to anyone else who may wish to use them (or copy the idea with shots of there own!): Enjoy!

Takeoff from San Diego with rare T storms-cumulus T storms finally look real-that was a bolt going off in the bottom of the cloud way back! Overfly of some nice free San Diego freeware with nice smooth fps Shot of the God rays now possible with SkyMaxx High def mesh really makes a difference with great default textures Great clouds that move and can be seen well from the ground and great lighting effects

Even without editing, I thought this screenshot was beautiful, especially considering that this is stock P3D v2. Before editing: After editing: The lens dust texture came from Gabriel Rodrigues's wonderful lens flare mod for FSX that I have yet to try in P3D, though I'm sure it works. Bonus screenshots! The original screenshot was the result of me experimenting with the Time Preview feature. This is certainly a wonderful tool for screenshot artists, allowing us to set the lighting up just right for the intended mood. Here are some screenshots with the time set to different points throughout the day. HDR does wonders to almost any scene …
