The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Pretty happy with the result! Bought IXEG 737 spontaneously and was not disappointed, as well as Aerosoft EGLL and EHAM. Still misses many good quality airports but I can live with that

  4. It appears to me that Shader Pack and REX4 really shine together - well done  After reading a post to change my P3D.cfg file to edit cloud textures to 256 resolution this has helped a lot with performance - sorry forgot who posted it but thanks

Set 1: Set 2: I tried two test flights today. One using FSGRW and the other one using ASN. Look at the pics and tell me which weather generator created the set 1 or set 2 pics? Thx.

Out of Akrotiri, bound for Masirah - RAF Masirah as was. Someone magically repainted the Victor's RAF camouflage overnight into the blue of the second Victor prototype! Some of you may know, I'm running stock FSX:SE with FS Open Clouds for weather (£5 for world weather) and sometimes it amazes me.

These shots were taken at about FL250, climbing out of Vienna, en-route to Geneva. Noticeable add-ons used were Real Terra Haze, SkyMaxx Pro v3.1.2 (with the 'Fast' clouds rendering, instead of 'Crisp' which is the default), Real Weather Connector and of course, the excellent IXEG 737 Classic v1.0.1. The Austrian and Swiss Alps are visible in the background.

For this flight I used a plane that we rarely see nowadays. It’s a beautiful British made Hawker Siddeley 121 Trident. It’s a native FS9 bird by David Maltby and upgraded for FSX by ricardo_tv. As it comes with a great VC and I can fly it in P3D, I gave it a new PNG texture for my future adventures. Our first flight took me from Auckland to Port Moresby and was a lot of fun, especially the last part We are ready to go What a great countryside Our flight path takes us partly along the Australian east coast. Here we pass by Port Stephens and Nelson Bay. Still a long way to go Does anyone still remember what this big square thingie in the …

Sometimes the beauty of flight sims is in flights of fantasy or fancy, resurrecting Certificates of Airworthiness for aircraft which no longer have them, or indeed using aircraft which never existed (not in this particular case!). A dawn takeoff from Coningsby to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus in my current aircraft flavour-of-the-month, the Handley Page Victor. Thanks Virtaiva (Alphasim freeware). EDIT - must learn to find my way around without Progressive Taxi!

  16. Here's just a few initial at KASN. If there ever was a marriage made in heaven...it would be Departure: ORBX Palm Springs Arrival: LatinVFR KSAN That...is, if you are willing to open up your sim, in the graphics department, and see what is there... With my Carenado G.A. aircraft, I am keeping at 17-33 FPS depending on my viewpoint. Totally acceptable for animation and control. Please also note the full overcast sky at the time the shots were grabbed...and still I generate no less than 17 as the bottom of the range. Totally acceptable performance, for all graphics at 100 percent. The downtown buildings are beautiful to behold, as is most ever…

  19. ...the greatest GENERAL use out of your flight sim experience...that all elements have equal cycle rights...lol. If you can fly a tuber, that has everything you need to depart, cruise, descend, and land...at your destination...and you want to have your visual cake and eat it too...than you decide, if a cockpit with every sub system mapped, and sucking CPU cycles to emulate it, even if you are not directly pressing that button, flipping that switch...they are all still there, little CPU cycle vampires...sucking away...in the background... OR... ...you can use a 737-800 such as this...create your flight plan, have push-back, taxi to active, take-off, obtain cr…
