The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

This is miles ahead of any other visual enhancement for XP. Very carefully crafted, does miracles for atmospheric scattering, dusk colors, clouds, water visuals, night lighting. Finally XP can have dusk and water visuals comparable to some of the best of FSX (Teles skytextures + enbseries), with the advantage of atmospheric scattering and better night lighting. I hope the author will be able to overcome the obstacles (there will be some changes in shaders in 11.30) and continue development of this product.

I re-installed the 3rd CS aircraft (L-1011) from my CS depository onto my PC. And, while looking again in the Andes region for another short flight, the vast Lake Titicaca in the border between Peru and Bolivia inside the Andes range, caught my attention. This lake, at 12500', is supposedly the highest navigable lake in the world. Interestingly, La Paz Airport (SLLP), the highest elevation airport in the world, is located southeast of the lake. So, I set up a short (~140 miles) but interesting flight (please see map) from the Peruvian city of Juliaca (SPJL), itself at 12500' elevation, to La Paz airport across Lake Titicaca. CS has coincidentally included a (now-defunct) …

Below are a few shots for a flight with the nostalgic Boeing 727 (100 model - thanks to CS) from SETU Airport to the Cotopaxi Intl Airport (SELT). The short flight (~125 miles) is constantly surrounded by 20000' mountains, and overflies the city of Quito, the Capital of Ecuador. The route-map shot is shown with 6-7 INS waypoints. I'm not sure if all 727 had INS, but I believe at least a few did. The INS add-on suggestion was included in the CS manuals. Cotopaxi Airport is named after the nearby Volcano, which is recorded to have at lest 50 eruptions including one in 2015. It's one of the highest-elevation volcanoes in the world, and considered especially dangerous du…

I've settled on two versions that Ive been working on recently. This is a bright light yellow that ends in a pink. My 'four XP11 shots' should be reproduceable with this. Both of the sunsets are built around using the default orbit sunglow file in place of the default sun glow mount file. This will get rid of all halos but its necessary for the sunsets and its not that bad during the day because you're not supposed to look at the sun anyway right ? So - first make backups. I made a directory on my hard drive called "FSBackups" and in that a directory called XP11 and I just copy the latest SkyColors directory into that. (X-Plane 11/Resources/bitmaps…

I was looking to re-install a couple of Captain Sim aircraft from my years-old archive, and thought the 707 would be interesting. Here is a BA 707 flight from Heathrow to Charles-De-Gaulle. The visibility is set to half-mile. I was a bit anxious (plane or/and CTD perspective) about this somewhat dated add-on, but fortunately everything worked out from T.O. to T.D. as expected. I was also lucky to catch one in-flight shot with the moon in it. Thanks for viewing.

Testing out the Carenado S340 along with Spain North Scenery (MSE V2) flying between Girona (LEGE) and Pamplona (LEPP) - primarily (trying to) track the valleys of the Pyrenees Range. The average flight altitude is 12000 feet. Below are a few shots from the flight. Occasionally I happened to touch the border of France, and what a difference MSE makes (MSE does not have France yet)! All I saw was instant drop to mundane FSX textures even though the Pyrenees Range forms the natural border between these two countries.

Overnight I have been building Wyoming photoreal scenery with FSEarthtiles, which borders the Colorado scenery I have here in Avsim's file library. I am using a high compression ratio to keep the textures crisp while flying, and I love the preliminary results, with about half of Wyoming done. Given P3D's wonderful mesh I could not be happier with the results so far. Love the way P3DV4's cloud shadows play on the scenery, a feature I think the program excels at compared to those sims that have them, and especially the MSFS series which did not. John

Wrapping up the trip to Juneau airport with a quick tour of the airport and vicinity. Below are few sights/screenshots - using 1st Person BOB (FW/Orbx) and Carenado TBM850. The nearby Glacier is the Mendenhall Glacier, listed also on Orbx MAP (maybe one day hope to see it for real!). Thanks for viewing.

I always loved that song by Enya. It was spooky that I first heard it in early 1990. Because some months later, in the 1990 summer, I was sent to Venezuela to do some hotel business systems training. While I was there I decided I should book a trip to Angel Falls and that is exactly what I did. I flew from my project on Margarita Island to Canaima, then was taken into the rain forest to hike along the tributaries that flowed into the Orinoco river. And Enya's prophetic song came rushing back to me. Anyway, I decided to install some HD mesh made by Andras Fabian, and here I am sharing a few screenshots that bring back memories of that otherworldly place I was blessed…

Here are a few (sequential) screenshots for a very short flight from Quintin Lodge (T004) to Milford Sound Airport (NZMF) - flying in moderate fog. While parked in front of the lodge, an orange butterfly kept appearing near the aircraft window in repeating action every 2-3 minutes. I wished it were actually so in real nature, but it's not, and surely for good reasons! But, I found it a nice touch to the ambience of the scenery. Thanks for viewing.
