The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Here are a few (random) screenshots from a few test flights across Colorado (with MSE Colorado V3, says 2017 imagery), roughly tracking the Rockies range from Fort Collins (KFNL) to Durango (KDRO). The average flight altitude is 25k feet. Thanks for viewing.

Xplane11's default night lighting is incredible, so realistic. And there is no better place to show it off than flying over the LA basin with millions of twinkling lights. My first general aviation flight was a night flight over the San Francisco Bay Area out of Napa with a high school friend, who is still a Facebook buddy today. I was at the airport with another friend, he saw us, and said "wanna go up?" Who could refuse such a question. We soared over the north bay, over San Francisco's Pier 39, watching the fog along the coast in the distance on the moonlit night. The air was calm and the ride felt like that of a jet at altitude, smooth as glass, as we made our …

This is what Im working on. Its a sunset (two versions) that requires a modified sun glow file. The reason is that the sunset is mostly in those files and you have to delete parts of it in order to see what Ive done. Modify as follows: On the top row are the sun halos. the rightmost 256 x 256 element is the daytime halo. repaint this element by creating a large round brush with soft edge=0, width 240 or so, color = RGB 209 209 209. I tried 229,229,229 but it was too bright with the dataref change (later). The element next to this element is used to color the sky when the sun is setting but above the horizon. repaint it to RGB 255 242 199. The next element…

Hi All: Returning to SIM after a break of nearly 4 years (twins in the family). I see that so many things have changed..so many new options are available..it's truly amazing! FSW has come and gone! I'm still with good old FSX, though. Re-installed a few aircraft (on my not-so-powerful computer) and got a couple of MSE titles. I am just discovering the beauty of high-altitude flying with the ground scenery that's now available. Below are few images from a LSGG-LIPZ flight in PMDG 747 via Sion, Urlichen, Samedan, etc. and finally descent into the flatlands past the Italian Alps over Bolzano valley...from 33000' over the Alps to 7' at Venice Airport...just wished to share th…

Flying the new Alabeo Cessna 421 into Reno. Arguably one of the most beautiful routes to fly in the US, with the contrast of alpine and desert scenery. The Alabeo Cessna 421 handles gracefully and does greaser landings, it is enjoyable both on auto pilot and in hand flying. The photoscenery is MSE V2, California and Nevada. John

My city is talking about cancelling fireworks this evening due to bad weather... and the weather isn't great this morning either. Anyway here are some shots from the recently released Aerostar for XP11. I climbed above the weather for some better "lighting" hehe. For the price it feels like a pretty good product. The VC/interior is modeled better than the external imo... and the external has a lot of jaggies even with maximum AA... so it's a bit frustrating to take shots with. But the VC is very readable, however most of the gauge knobs are not mouse wheel operable... a bit annoying imo. This is the 601P so it's pressurized and has plenty of power. With a li…

Decided to challenge myself a bit more and make a 777 repaint. I think I need to tweak my HDR lighting a bit. Kinda distorts the colors. What do you guys think?

But I think I had a video driver crash. Monitors went to standby but my PC was still running. So here's a few pics of the Zibo 737 in XP11. I had been flying a route from DLH to MSP and had issues capturing the localizer so I got a re-vector back. I decided to share just the few pics anyway. I kinda liked the lighting. A touch and go at 11S then onwards to Port Angeles. I had a scenery issue at 11S.... no buildings maybe due to 4.3 update. And my prop on the cirrus looks a little odd from a direct side on view... Otherwise I love this paint job!
