The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

  3. This past week I ran into a few pictures of the Saab 900, Saab Group's one of the most popular automobile models...(Side Note: Saab 900 production ceased in 1998). I recall, years ago, I used to occasionally ride-share with a colleague who owned a Saab 900...it had felt like a sleek and nice car...compared to my run-of-the-mill generic mode of transportation...🙂...and, when I caught sight of these Saab 900 pictures, also, I could not help remembering the (iconic) Saab (car) Advertisement by Tony Scott...it was a breathtaking Ad in its own right, at least when, I'd seen it the first time. If you wish to be reminded of it, please search for the 1m:48s video clip "SAAB - 'No…

  5. Thanks to @polosim giving me a hint, I flew from Chilas to Gilgit, small towns in the Himalayas, in Pakistan. Chilas, Gilgit are names which don't ring a bell today. They did when the British Empire ruled the Sub-Continent (the Raj !) as they were frontier cities in a highly volatile region. Actuality they are still in a volatile region disputed between Pakistan, India and China. So I adapted my livery and took the Air America one 😉. Besides, they are in the mighty Indus valley which is a branch of the Silk Road and the path taken by the Indian missionaries who brought Buddhism to China. They were on a major road of trade and civilization.

  7. An allusion of Bernd to Pakistan drove me there, a country I have never been to. I chose the Raj frontier region and did a small flight (42 minutes) from Peshawar OPPS to Saidu Sharif OPSS and I found myself remembering my readings of Kipling or George MacDonald Fraser (Flashman !). This is the end of the flight over the Swat river. Really amazing landscape. Recommended (by me FWIIW). PS I know the livery was not exactly fit for the region 😄

I’m deep in the Maasai Mara Reserve near the Serena Lodge and plan a trip to the East towards the Ngong Hills, made famous in the book and movie “Out of Africa”. I also found an appropriate plane for my trip, a Gipsy Moth with the correct registration. It’s the FSX GAS model, which I ported to MSFS. She flies beautifully and all gauges work. A bit of trivia, if you allow me: Out of Africa's 1929-model Gipsy Moth G-AAMY biplane was shipped to Kenya in 1985 in the back of a DC8 for the filming of the movie. Sir Henry Dalrymple-White, a noted Royal Air Force Wing Commander in WW2, piloted it, soaring high above the Maasai Mara and the Great Rift Valley. …

Beware ! Nothing glamorous in here I'm afraid. No glorious sunset, no artistic blur. You almost don't see the aircraft. Rather crude screenshots if you ask me😄 You may be disappointed. I was not. The beauty of this sim is not only in the visuals. I landed yesterday evening the decidedly very convincing Porter in Porto Indio, a dirt strip in Mato Grosso, Brazil, at the Bolivian border. Forest and lakes. Not really tricky but hemmed in with trees. Gotta be careful. Your usual bush landing. I even didn't take any screenshot. The routine. Then I had a second thought. There were village buildings by the water to welcome me and Porto Indio SSPY written wit…

I start from the Rostock Ritz Desert Lodge airstrip in Namibia. The lodge is located some 190 km south-west of Windhoek, which means, if you want to have something to eat, you either drive some three hours with your four-wheel-drive to the next supermarket or you go hunting. After taking off I head east towards the spectacular Rooiklip or Gamsberg Nature Reserve Thanks for viewing
