Hi Folks:As Ian indicated, I had some trouble with my f/p at the start of the Nairobi/Tel Aviv Fly In.He received the f/p, but only my callsign was there. The route did not show up. Eventually he had to enter the f/p for me, so that I could get on my way.I remembered that this was the second time that I had this difficulty and that both times, it had happened when I tried to file via the internet facility. It goes like this. I prepare my f/p, check it twice (:-)), and file it via the Internet. It comes back full of red letters telling me that there is an error (does not specify which one) and that the f/p was not filed. I check everything again (twice :-)) and try to re-fi…

Come out in force and enjoy the wine, women and fun, virtually of course..Well two out of three ain't bad.Un-fortunatly I will not be able to be there, as I am going to the AVSIM conference. I may catch the end of it and give my regards to the sucker who's getting married!

As we drift along through life, we occasionally come upon events that may be worthy of celebration, or at least worth noting. Like when legally being able to drive, a round numbered birthday, the year 2000, my first flight with other people on a network, my first 1000 hours flying on VATSIM, or the first time I had --- no I won

Hello all :-wave Getting ready to cross the Atlantic in my trusty 76 for the first time. Been studying up with what online information I can find, but want to know what real world charts (and where to get it) people are using for the North Atlantic part (with lats/longs, appropriate intersections, etc.). I usually get my charts through Sporty's and have all the US charts. I can find the high altitude charts for Europe area in their catalog and will be ordering those soon, but nothing that really seems to fit other than maybe a Global Navigation Chart (GNC3).Thanks in advance :-cool Travis Normandin

Hi guys!I've been wondering about this:Let's assume an aircraft, that is on the ground, parking brakes on and engines off, however with all 3 IRU's aligned. Now I know that IRU's drift over time, and that position offsets occur aswell as groundspeed indications will become less accurate over time. But what if an aircraft is not moving? Will the groundspeed drift over time aswell? Let's assume this aircraft has just flown for an hour, returns to it's base, and the IRU's keep operating in NAV mode. The residual groundspeed after setting the parking brakes is 7 kts. Will this increase if the aircraft is not moved?I know you can "reset" the GS by simply quick aligning the IRS…

I mean I could have left well enough alone that fateful day over two years ago. But no, I had to go ahead and buy this PIC add-on thingy to see what all the hoopla was about.Ladies and Gentlemen - it has ruined me. I simply cannot purchase other 'high quality' airplane packages without the inevitable comparison. All have failed, come close yes, but still miss the mark for me atleast. Sometimes I truly wish I could get that 'little kid' excited feeling again knowing that I am about to learn a great deal from an excellent package with true immersion over a long period of time. Well it been over two years and a lot of money spent trying to regain that.I know that PIC is…

Well I finally got a few flights in online, 5 actually with 1 being across the pond with a NAT. It wasnt as hard as I thought it was going to be, and my concerns on knowing what to say were foolish as it turned out to be common sense.Although some told me to do flights from less busy airports than my home base Heathrow, I found Heathrow to be easy maybe due to the fact that I am very familar with the airport. And the controllers are great there. esp Lon Ctr. I have found other airports to be somewhat of a challenge though LOL..lets see I am here rwy is there taxi this way la la la opps I am lost LOLSo hopefully I will be able to join the PIC guys in a fly-in sometime.Bria…

Hello all. After hearing the news of plans for a new PIC, I thought I'd show my support and order the old one, I decided I'd continue to use it with FS2002(which isn't going anywhere for awhile, though I have FS9 as well). I've heard about and read about PIC for a long time, but for some reason or another never ordered it. Have I ever been missing out. Randy, (crvm), told me nothing compared to PIC long ago, but I *sigh* didn't listen. Well, I must now make up for lost time. There is such a definite difference, in the way the aircraft and panel behave in comparison to every other add-on, but it is hard to describe. All I can say is that I am very happy with this "old" vers…

What do you guys think of this?http://www.simradar.com/contributors_rankings.htmlThe question is, would any of you be interested in participating if you get somehing for being in 1st place in the ALL YEAR Top Contributions? This is an awards program, but in order to go forward it is neccesary to determine if people is really interested in Harware/Software or instead they rather get Paid for their contributions... can you help me survey what people would rather have? in return I promise I will give the PIC forums the heads up when this rewards program starts. As some of you know this site http://www.simradar.com it's a general flightsim community, but for the moment with a…

I've been trying to make a point of taking lots of screenshots of these events. During the Nairobi run my program malfunctioned and I ended up with 130 photos of the same thing ;-(. Too bad because I had some great screenshots of everyone from the radar scope while working Ground. This time I ended up missing many opportunities due to my time manning the ATC scopes in Memphis and Las Vegas (Note - I was NOT the Memphis controller on arrival - only on the way out).Anyhow - these are the ones I thought turned out best. They are all under 40K so please excuse any quality issues.Landing runway 6R at Alaska on the way in from KLAX. Great Scenery.http://forums.avsim.net/user_fil…
