Why are flap maneuver speeds for the 767(unlike the 737) given as a function of VREF, for example, Vm Flaps 15 = VREF30+20? I assume it is because VREF is dependent on weight, thus the flap maneuver speeds will also vary in proportion to the weight of the aircraft? But, then, how do I "Accelerate and climb at VREF30+80 knots" after takeoff, as instructed in the 767 Flight Manual? How do I derive a VREF value at this stage in the flight? Can I use the FMC Approach Page?BR,Frank

Guys:As of two days ago, Internet Explorer crashes about 90% of the time when I try to open a post on the LDS forum.I have three separate computers on my LAN and IE crashes on all three!! And it's a hard crash. I get the "IE caused a prob and must close" message, but I can usually just move it out of the way and continue; not on the LDS forum. It's locked up tighter than a boot-jack.Any ideas?I sent an e-mail to Steve Halpern advising him, but, as always, I assume it's something on my end.I did install SB3 the other day and messed around with my router ports trying to get it to work (never did... it's been uninstalled). That's the only thing I changed, but after blowi…

Hi all,My question is about area navigation:We have a route in Israel which is used as is, but sometimes due to traffic concerns, ATC direct stations to fly "offset" the route - the is 1 mile east (or west - depends on flight direction) to the route. Is the PIC FMS capable of doing so? how? and if not, any clue how is it done in real life aviation? Thanks!

Please refrain from buying this product.I have spent good money and have asked for a refund.Patching a product should not take this long.Developers are just plain rude and treat customers very bad and use faul language.I will start this campaign against Level-dAnthony Vos

Hi folks,I've been flying the PIC767 for a while now, but I'm still not able to perform a descent cross wind landing when the wind is above 10kts. I don't have peddles and a yoke, yet. Perhaps my wife will pick up on my subtle hints for a x-mas gift. For know I'm stuck with my MS Sidewinder twist stick.I would appreciate it if someone could point me towards a tutorial for cross wind landings. I am turning off the Right Yaw Damper and trying to stay lined up on the rwy with rudder/role control, but I always seem to get blown too far downwind and have trouble getting lined back up again.Do you try to keep the wings level and just use rudder control or do you drop the wi…

Where is the right point in the approach to set the landingconfiguration? - precision approachI've found out in some manuals that when GS comes alive beforedescent the PF calls for gear and flaps 30 and the landing speed isset (Vref 30 + 5).But some of my friends say this is not the way of working in reallive. They say that the B767 normaly fly with at least 160kts to4nm to touch down and only then slow down to landing speed - thatassumes that the flaps also have to be set to 30 only at this point. Please - is there a real pilot who can clarify this for me?happy landings,Rainer MeiselAustrian Virtual Airlineshttp://www.aua.com/virtual

Those of you who enjoy flying real-world routes might like to know that I've just uploaded 130 B767 flight plans in *.rte format which are usable in both the LDS and the PIC FMCs. These are real plans that have all been flown during the past 4 weeks and they should be available soon from both Avsim and Flightsim as ldsfplv1.zip.The plans cover a wide selection of flights from a 37 minute positioning flight to 10 hour plus "long-haulers" from Europe to the US and Caribbean. If you really have some time to spare there's also a 13 hour 24 minute plan from Heathrow to Singapore to try! Also in the zip file is an identical set of plans in *.pln format for use with the FS2002/0…

Hi all! first post on the PIC forum.I have been doing a few flights with PIC and PmFlightPlanner. I always however end up with burning far less fuel than the plan says, and was wondering if there is any way, via the CFG files that I can tweak the fuel burn rate? Thanks!

"Airlines must add 10 pounds to the estimated weight of each passenger and 5 pounds for each checked bag to ensure that planes do not take off overweight and unsafe, the Federal Aviation Administration announced Wednesday." (Airdisaster.com) ...so it's 190lbs per PAX, PLUS baggage + 5 lbs per bag. This will result in some empty seats/cargo area on those long hauls. In winter, an additional 5 lbs is required...for the winter clothes, etc.For very-fat people flights, such as ACA856....just change the standard units to Kg's ;-)FYI.-----------------------------"I'm gonna put you in my belly"Fat Bar-stad, 2001

I can't seem to get the climb power to work. I set up the FMC, turn on A/T, press climb then N1 the aircraft keeps accelorating right past V2+15 and keeps on going. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I thought that N1 was suppose to hold V2+15.

Hello to all, I was shooting the River visual into KDCA and it was pretty easy until I started the left and right turns, I felt like I was going to call the ball on the aircraft carrier. I manage to stay over the river away from P56 but this approach has got to scare the pants out of passengers. Do 767's shoot this approach? The larger the plane the harder I assume it would be to fly these approaches, I know 757
