    I'm stuck here with a problem. I want to add custom grass texture around my airport and use Sbuilder to add a textures polygon. I compiled everything..... and got the neccesary files in my "work" folder including a "temp.bmp" file. I added them to my "...Addon Scenery\Airport\Secenery and Texture folders but the texture didn't show up. Then I resarted SBuilder to check if I missed something. I then got the message that I have to copy my custom texture to my POLYTEX folder. I searched forums and found to create a sbuilder\tools\polytex folder.... I did that and still get the "copy to polytex folder" message and still can't see my custom texture. What am I doing wrong?Thank…

    I have been trying to create my own PhotoScenery in FSX using Photo Scenery Maker. First I went to this url..http://www.ptsim.com/sbuilder/gmaps.asp?La...556&Zoom=14I clicked on the 1600x1200 window and saved the image as a bmp. I opened this bmp in Photo Scenery Maker and specified the coordinates on the page above as the North, South, East, and West Boundaries. Then I go to the Scenery Generation menu and select Run Whole Process. I am then presented with the error "Texture Resolution is too HIGH. Please check texture resolution and try again." I tried zooming in more to zoom 15 on the Google Maps image and then took a screen shot from that and entered the new coord…

    I am relatively new to scenery design and have managed to get some nice photo scenery imported into FSX using SbuilderX. I have looked at Virtual Earth, Google Maps, and Yahoo Map photo tiles for various areas but was wondering if anyone could recommend any other free or inexpensive sources of photo tiles? I tend to prefer the colors and resolution on aerial photos as opposed to satellite images. It would also be nice to find a good source that is freely distributable as I would like to make some nice photo scenery of various areas in the US and distribute them on Avsim. I understand this is not legal with the providers I mentioned above. I looked at Terra Server but the …

    Hi guys, Have been working on an FS9 VFR scenery of Belgrade, given the glaring absence of anything useable for that area. I have created a fair number of custom objects with EOD, textured them and tested them and saved them as API Macros. I then tried placing them with SBuilder 2.05. In a first test only two the buildings showed but with wrong altitudes. In subsequent tests none of them showed. The bgl files are where they should be and my test scenery has the highest priority level. I'm at a loss as to why nothing is visible. Please help. Thanks in advance. Misha

    Hello everyone. I am looking for someone who can create a series of short, high quality animations showing aircraft performing particular ground maneuvers. A flight simulator buff suggested I post my need on this forum. These animations will be used for training and commercial purposes.     How can I increase the LOD/clarity/sharpness of sat scenery downloaded and created with maps2bgl? It seems to be stuck at FS2004 resolution instead of using FSX/high quality resolution.I have the FSX version of maps2bgl, high quality enabled, all scenery sliders to max, etc... it's simply not creating high-quality scenery.

    In hindsight I now realized I should have purchased FSX Deluxe rather than the Standard version. Anyway, I want to be able to place scenery objects around the areas I fly, so should I just get Instant Scenery or should I purchase the FSX Deluxe to get the SDK and then use something like SBuilderX?Thanks,Henry

    Hi,I was just looking at this video tutorial where this guy shows how to put textures on a simple house that had been turned into am editable poly. my question is the following,When he is assigning material ID's, he can select many faces at once, and then assign all those faces the same ID...how does he do that? When i click one face, it doesn't even change color and if i click on a second one, it de-selects the previous one.My other question, when he rotates his model, the whole grid rotates, when i rotate my items here, only my model rotates. How do you rotate without actually changing the properties?Regards,Marc

    Ok I have spent all weekend on this.I have FSX, FSX SDK sp2, GMAX 1.2. I have copied the "FSX_GmaxGamePack" Into the "gamepacks" directory in GMAX. The "FS Tools" button appears in GMAX. Under it I only get these options "AttachPoint", "Animation Manager", "Cloud Tool" and "LODname tool".All I want to do is design buildings to put in FSX, no autogen, no airplanes, just buildings. I can save my file as a .GMAX. But now I want to compile it. How do I do it? From there I am completely lost.HELP PLEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAASE!!!!Thanks in advance!

    Hello AllI wanted to know if it was posible to add a set of airport stairs that would appear with a key imput? I fly the default B737 and as I explore the world most airports don't have jetways...I have not found any FSX aircraft with airstairs so I thought this might be a idea.     Ok I started to read that "Beginners Guide", but I guess too much for what I actually want. First of all I never created an airport for FS2004, but I sure would be able to create one as an AFCAD file for a start. Talking about "starting"... currently I would like to make my own fictional airport. Having all the runways, taxiways, parkings, etc.... and actually being able to fly there is quite nice, but I would also love to add some quality in to it. It doesn't have to be FlyTampa quality, but I'd at least want to have it above default quality (custom ground texture, jetways, some landclass around it and some objects).   17. Hi,I am attempting to add moving jetways to my payware add-on airports that do not have them. Some of the products I have bought have moving jetways (e.g FS DreamTeam scenery) and I want to add jetways to the airports I have bought which just have static ones.For these airports I can add FSX default jetways through AFX or by using the GUID code can add the customised FSDreamTeam jetways (I don't see anything wrong with the latter as I have already paid for the FSDreamTeam airports with those jetways and the add-on airports I am changing.     While I know that the Image Tool is not that extensive, and that many of its functions are self-evident, I am wondering if there is any kind of guide out there to describe Image Tool in depth. For instance, what does 'outline image' or 'overlap' do and how are they used? There are other functions as well like 'fold edges', 'create fallback' and 'make guage' for example.     Hi allPlease tell where can i get good BGL language reference. I had viewed 'Scenery SDK.pdf' docfile from FS SDK 2000 but i'm not quite understand BGL workflow. Im interested primarily on aircraft design and i still not understand what a 'BGL_VFILE_MARKER' instruction does and how variables organized in BGL. The 'Scenery SDK.pdf' doesnt provide a good information about it. Please, if you can, help me!!!

    Hi there,I was building an animated bouye with gmax and placed it in FSX using SBuilder. Everything works just fine, but the bouyes disappear at a low distance already. Is there a way to define a distance when the object is supposed to disappear?I placed an FSX library object beside my bouye - my bouye disappears much earlier, why?Any help is appreciated.GreetingsEddie

    I am building a fictional airport in Alaska with FS9. I have used AFCAD2 to flatten an area using the apron tool. I decided I didn't really need a runway, since this is a small private airport. I have placed a bunch of trees using Instant Scenery. Everything look okay, but while doing test flights form the airport, my airplane mysteriously crashes at the end of the runway almost like it is hitting an invisible force field. :( No trees or other objects in contact with the airplane. Any idea what might be causing this?Thanks,Steve

    It's not uncommon so install an airports whose textures (esp. runways) disappear to grass as you pan or adjust the viewing angle from the cockpit. I often find that making a flatten file to the level of the runway (as per AFCAD2) fixes this, but is there anything to be done when the whole airport's ground textures disappear depending upon which viewing angle you have chosen? A flatten bgl is not always an effective solution. Is there any other way of seeing concrete instead of grass at the apron?Thanks,Martin

    In the project I'm working on (for FS9) I've used GMAX ground polygons and tweaked the .asm files to get rid of flickering and also a trick to get the default autogen show up over the textured polygons.The problem I have is that the autogen trees and houses start sinking into the ground as I climb away.Otherwise everything works fine.Here is the piece of code I used to get the autogen back:ADDCAT OBJECT_0_SCALE, 8 INSTANCE_CALL R, 0, 0, 0 BGL_JUMP_32 OBJECT_0_END R label word BGL_RETURNAnd here is a screenshot of what it looks like:I hope there's some easy fix to this.
