helloi am looking for a way to get rid of the flattening that coastlines impose to elevated mesh close to them . I dont know how MFS implements this but it seems that areas are flattened even when at a distance from the actual shoreline. So far i have tried to create an exclusion polygon using SBUILDERX and i assigned it to exclude all coastlines intersected by it , but it didnt do anything so must follow a different approach. Any suggestions?

Hi all, I've been working on something in GMAX, but have come across an issue when trying to sort out UVW mapping. When I get all the sides set out on the map, they're far too long to fit onto the square, and if I scale them down they're too small to be able to texture with any accuracy. Should I split this section up into several rectangles? Sorry if I'm not very clear, I'm pretty noobish at this.

I'm getting artifacts in the form of lines running through several areas of photoscenery I've created using maps2bgl. As an example, here's an area I'm working on. I've drawn a red line on the screenshot that parallels the 'seam' I'm talking about. At first I thought maybe this had to do with my water masking (I've had some issues with this which have been resolved by scrutinizing the perimeter edges at high magnification for any artifacts that might screw up the complete selection of an area to be masked), but it appears the gap runs through the land portion as well. We have just put this onto the Download Center (www.downloadcenter.scruffyduck.org.uk).ADE9X is the first version of ADE to support both FS9 and FSX. For FS9 users it brings most of the functionality of ADE for FSX to FS9. for FSX users there are a number of bug fixes and improvements to the program. It provides better handling of imported files (particularly from AFCAD2) and deals better with stock navaids and ILS. We welcome your feedback on this version as we prepare for final release. Please do read the included release notes and remember that this is still a beta product :)

Is anyone making a good dubai airport scenery for fs2004??I know theres flytampa with their fly Dubaibut thats outdated they made it in 2006 and its 2009 everything has changed since then

I used AFCAD221 to move the grass runway at EGLG in FS9 so that it matches the runway shown on my photographic sceneery suiccessfully. However, on creating a flight, the aircraft is still positioned at the end of the orignal default ruway and so is offset from the new one. I've tried; dragging the the stock runway changing changing the co-ordinates of the centre of the runway by typing them in deleting the runway and creating another After each attempt I deleted AF2_EGLG.bgl to give me a clean start.None worked. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, Wanted to add a VOR station to a scenery location that does not have one (see below). In fact, the VOR should be a TACAN, but have seen that that they can be simulated with a VOR. Anyway, what would be the easiset way to do this? I have not messed with scenery since pre FS98! :) Any help woudl be appreciated. regards,Macs :)

I am trying to understand how to add runway markings to an already present add-on scenery file.My exact issue is that I would like to add Field Carrier Landing Practice markings to the NAS North Island Navy base add-on, Miramar, and NAS Jax.If you look at the following google map link, you will see the marking that I am talking about at the end of runway 32 left side.NAS Whidbey IslandThese are the markings I wish to create and add to the runway scenery. The other issue after this is completed would be the "meatball" and how to install it.

Hi, I still struggling with understanding exactly how this works and how we are able to influence what it does and thus the appearance of the scenery in FSX. Hi: I know nothing about imaging as it relates to the scenery files used in FltSim. I fly FSX and I have some scenery files (actually several hundred) that are .bmp files that I want to covert to mipmaps and see how they perform compared to the bmp files when loaded into FSX. I was told that for this particular scenery, mipmaps would work much better - so I want to try it out. I have Microsoft's Image Tool program from the SDK installation. I have done much reading on this but can not get a detailed description of exactly how to do this. Hey guys here's what I want to do, but don't know if its possible.For about the last 6 months I have gotten into using SBuilderX to create photo textures for areas unavailable for purchase from outside vendors. The day textures look great and I am really happy with them. The trouble is that editing the day textures for night use for large areas is proving to be just too much for me to handle. I don't have the time, patience, or skills to make really good looking night textures.So what I would like to do, even though it is kind of hokie, is make the default or in my case for FSX the GEX textures come into play as night fall arrives, thus eliminating the need for me to do n…

Helloi am as new to modifying the FSX class data as i can be.I would simply like to know which is the easiest way to remove water bodies (dams and lakes) from the default scenery .The particular problem with them here is double. First the ones i want to remove are missplaced and then there is the fact that their outline seems to be imposing a flattening of the area which destroyes the sourrounding mesh . will the removal of the water body just solve the water texture presence or will it also remove the associated flattening?

I just made some water class adjustments using SBuilderX and compiled them, but am unsure of where to place these bgl's. I tried placing them in the Addon Scenery/scenery folder with a bunch of my ADE files. When I loaded a flight to check my work the new water classes didn't appear to be corrected in FSX. I then tried placing them in the Scenery/World/Scenery folder and same thing, loaded a flight and nothing had changed.Out of ideas. Do I need to actually make a new folder in the Addon Scenery folder then add them in my scenery cfg?ThanksSean

Hi, Just wondering if anybody knows of a way to fix the seemingly excellent NZCH (Christchurch, New Zealand) scenery by Ian Warren?. The file was downloaded from FScom, but I got another earlier version from here (AVSIM). The problem is I have a building crash everytime I try to load into NZCH, no matter where from. It would be a shame not to be able to use this scenery as it seems very decent is quality and the deault is not very appealing. So, I have made a building in GMAX, my first ever, and not bad IMO. But, now I am at texturing. Problem is, it seems no matter what I am doing, the textures I am making for the uvw thing just arent working, its just very random on where it shows up on the building. If there is anyone who would be willing to maybe texture it for me, that would be great! I would strongly appreciate it. Nothing fancy, just a red roof and some windows on the side. Hello!I have recently been souping up the Killeen, TX airport (KGRK) and trying to make it look like what it looks like in real life (it is empty on FS).And anyways, in real life there in a large hill that is right next to the airport and on the game it is all flat around the airport. Hi.I am trying to change the AFCAD file for my EKCH addon scenery (Swedflight).I want to make rwys 22R and 04R have takeoff only and 22L/04L have landings.I tried to change using the AFCAD app. and going to Runways->Properties.Here I can click "Closed For Landing" or "Closed for takeoff" for each runway end.An easy fix, I thought. Nonono... Changing this to my preference only closed down all runways except 22R for ALL traffic... No matter the wind direction..So.. any fancy AFCAD-guru out there to help me?Thanx in advance.//Johan

Hello all, I'm not exactly new to the forum, i just dont post much, but i have been working on an improved afcad file for FS Dreamteams JFK scenery (greastest ever!). My main problem is terminal 4. I am trying to accurately assign airline parking but it is hard because i know for a fact that at terminal 4- as with the others - airlines have preferred parking spots (i.e concourse B/ or A) :( . So here is my question for any of you in these forums who have detailed- or better than average- knowledge of the airline assignments at JFK's Terminal 4; which airlines have special preferences as to which gate or councourse they park at, and what are those preferences?C…
