Hello guys i need some help in order to convert some good fs9 airports i have in fsx. I am using AFX and ADEX. My problem is this. I open a fs9 airport with afx or ade and then i convert it inside afx for example to fsx format. Then i use the regular method to install it to fsx ( i copy this inside addon scenery inside fsx and then i install it to fsx library ). I start fsx in the new airport. Ok until now everything is working perfect all scenery objects and approns e.t.c. are visible and in correct placement as it was in fs9 but when after i enter inside the runway and starting to increasing speed for take off i see the textures of the runway bellow starting to dissapea…

0I am just getting "Airport Design Editor 9x" WORKING. Totaly new so I will be reading more here. So here is a bsic stupid question. I am only ZAanhancing my local small town airport. Just adding trees and other stuff to make it more homely for now. Alot of these scenery objects dont show thumb pics in the editor, Just wanted to go look in the directory for a look. Type of file, extension. ect.So where are these objects stored in FSX, been swimming but can't find.Thanks

Good day,First of all I have no real scenery design question, but by using google to search for a solution to my problem I frequently was taken to this forum. HiI just downloaded a nice airport scenery for Phuket (phukt_95.zip). There is a problem with the alpha of the tree textures - it's showing black. What is the process for fixing these textures please?RegardsJason

When I go to the tools menu and select Object Placement, the object placement dialogue window appears but I can't move this window to get to the alt menu behind it, in order to change the view. It seems the window is locked in the top left corner. Any ideas?

I have been following the lesson that John Hockings put out and all is going well until i get to creating the blend mask. on page 13 of the tutorial he says when creating a blend mask "Again, Show/Hide all other layers" and shows a picture of a black outer area with a white area where the photoscenery is. I can get the black outer area fine but i still see the photoscenery, and not a white area covering it. I am using photoshop 7.0 to do the blend and the water mask- and i have the same issue with the water mask. In johns picture you only see the layer with the water, i cant seem to separate when doing water. when i use FSX i can see my photoscenery fine but the ble…

Hello, Apologies if I am posting in the wrong forum...I've been unable to resolve my question.I have been enjoying FSX and Tongass Fjords X a great deal; lately I am flying almost exclusively in this region. My question is, I would like to use some FS9 add on sceneries that worked in Tongass Fjords (FS9) but don't appear to in TFX. Can anyone recommend the best way to adapt these sceneries (such as Port Walter Fish Hatchery) for FSX (for my own use)? I have no experience in scenery design, but will learn if that's the best option (either starting from scratch or converting FS9 bgls to FSX). Thanks very much! Jeff

I use a beautiful FS9 addon scenery for Reykjavik (BIRK) which is spoiled by over-bright floodlights at night.There are two screenshots taken from exactly the same place. It is almost impossible to taxi to the apron after a night landing. I have tried to dissemble the .bgl but neither NewbglAnalyze nor bglxml work - I get an 'old file' message. I am not at all experienced with this sort of thing but I wondered if there was some way I could cheat the scenery into thinking it was day time 24/7. There is some sort of switch in the .bgl which turns the floodlights off at exactly 0908Z.If anyone is willing to advise I'd be grateful. John

Looking for a solution to an issue I have, I have read a topic in this forum about countryside without grass. It describes my query exaclty except I am talking about the UK !I have FSX. Windows XP. DeLuxe Edition. No other added scenery except Global.Scenery 2008. SP 1 and 2. I am not prone to fiddlingwith files etc so it 'as is ' straight from the box.I purchased Flight 1 Global 2008 in 2009 and I have found it very satisfactory. I'm probably missing something but the "Landclass values" list at the bottom of the grid doesn't seem to have a complete list eg 068 is missing and just shows up as a blank square in the .bgl instead of green fields.The ones listed show up OK.Any suggestions?

Greetings all,I'm not a designer so please forgive my ignorance. I downloaded a scenery for KLEX (Lexington KY) that was made with AED9 and it's my first time installing this type. The installation documentation was written for someone with more experience I suppose. I managed to find and install the required scenery objects and now the scenery is showing-up, but the new ILS information isn't working.The last line of the install notes is "Don't forget your AFCAD AF2_KLEX.bgl should be disabled or deleted" How do I find this file? Hello guys i just need some assistance about scenery creation. A few months ago i discover tileproxy and after i installed it in fsx i found a new wolrd of simulator. I am flying in real life " ppl " so when i test fsx with tileproxy i was recognizing all the terrain as in real flight. Amazing! For the first time the terrain of fs has become so alive! I have used SBX to create what i thought would be photo scenery for Jersey (channel islands)My method so far,1. Open SBX and show background,2.Zoom to 12 to capture the whole island and add map from background.3.Draw a box to capture the island and select zoom of 15, giving 1410 tiles at 47 x 30 grid.4.Save5.Right click, click backgroun and compile - this gives 266 cells being compiled and a compressed bitmap of lesser quality than i was hoping for.Having originally created a bitmap from step 3, (approx 300mb but higher resolution) i modified the INF file to reflect the larger bmp file, in addition i used GIMP to produce both water and land masks by blacking/whiting out a…

I have created a new airport with grass rwy in FS9 using ADE9 and Rwy12 and would like to install radio cotrolled rwy lights. I have only got so far asbeing able to see how they work when i select tex{1T1},however I'm not sure how to place these lights? Can I use ADE9 ? I have been using ADE9x to redesign airports in FS9, especially ones that have added a new runway or significantly changed an existing runway. The current one I am working on is KGSO to add 5L/23R. I am getting quite comfortable with Jon's ADE from Scruffyduck and only recently starting using the "Approach Mode" for ADE9x. Hi all,I'm trying to adapt David Cuvillier's FS2004 Paro (VQPR) scenery to FSX and Holger's excellent Himalayas mesh, but the flatten for the airport is not working well. There's definitely flattening going on, but the elevation it's actually flattening to is a good 200 feet higher than the elevation called for by the flatten (and the real airport height). What makes it even more frustrating is that the real altitude would clearly work pretty well with the mesh, if the flatten would actually flatten to that height! Instead I end up with a plateau (pictures below). Any ideas of what might be going wrong or how I can fix this? I don't know a whole lot about working with mes…

I recently started playing around with ADE9X to modify a local airport. I also have Megascenery X Socal and noticed that it has the same airport identifier bgl file in it. This is the file I have used to do my changes as Megascenery has done most of the heavy lifting of changing the taxiway alinements and moving the signage and buildings to match the photo scenery. I have done some minor tweaking of a runway and some PAPI and VASI lighting and it looks really good. One thing I have noticed though is that Megascenery's bgl file contains only the items that Megascenery worked on, but does not contain any of the buildings, execpt the tower, and is missing one runway that are…

I have some AFCADs titled, for example, "afcad-RKCP". Is it possible to change the name of the AFCAD .bgl to the standard "AF2_RKCP" without screwing things up? I would like to have them all in the same format for organizational purposes if possible.
