After so many years of flying FS9 as is, I have decided to spicy it up. Thanks to you guys and the people at World of AI, I resolved my problem with no AI traffic. What I would like to do is to modify and airport so that it looks close to the real thing. Jean-Lessage airport in Quebec is the one I am trying to replicate. I have all the landing plates and parking areas (thanks to VATSIM) and I downloaded FSBuilder. After numerous days debugging the problems with it (.ocx files not installed) I sat down and tried to start it and the only thing I get is this: "you must wait until SBuilder copies some bitmaps. It is easy for us to assume that folks understand not to interfere with stock files. However I have seen several instances of uploaded airport addon files in the last few days which unfortunately make that assumption invalid.In the first instance the read me advised users to remove an APX file from the stock folders along with a BRX and OBX file. A quick check showed that the APX file contained 46 airports - all of which would be lost with the removal of the file. The other files mentioned contained numerous objects etc that would also disappear.In the second instance I found several uploads that had a stock AP file name and the user was advised to save it into the rel…

Hi all,I have been using ADE9x, AFCAD2, Rwy12, and EZ-Scenery in varying degrees to redesign or design scenery for my system (FS9). Anytime I go into one of the Object Library drop-downs to select a building or object to place I usually see the same library listed several times. (If this is confusing I can add a screenshot to a later post). Also, for every file I have in the library, let's say Jetwaysbn.bgl it will be listed 2 or three times plus there will be another entry farther down in the drop down that says library_jetwaysbn.bgl that has the identical objects as jetwaysbn. hello, i was told to come here because i am hoping to get better answers in the scenery section.i currently have ground environment professional for fs9, but i do not think that its a possibility for the problem i have with my ground scenery. 1st pic: then flying over croatia enroute to Istanbul, i noticed something weird, one side of the area is covered in snow and the other is just fine. and there seems to a straight line separating it. note: this snow covered area extends all of the way to germany. 2nd pic, while flying over amsterdam, the shoreline is blocky and square like. it also seems as if the terrain was "extended"?3rd pic: to show coordiantes of am…

I'm starting to work on a project to update the VOR database for Alaska. This includes updating the magnetic variation data, re-locating ones that have moved and etc. I just wanted to see what kind of audience might be interested in using this or helping out with it. (Or not at all:() I tried writing a small perl program that would do this automatically, but I soon realized my coding skills weren't up to the challenge.I'm now doing this by hand.

I am currently running FSX/GOLD, with a bunch of scenery installed, including FSGenesis. UltimateTerrainX, Ground EnvironmentPro, as well as lots of various payware and freeware sceneries.What I am looking for is a utility that will tell me what sceneries are "under" me for a given spot "on the ground" in FSX. It seems that FSX is able to determine which BGL/Txt file to load for aparticular location, so there should most probably be a vehicle that can tell me the same information. I don't care if it interfaces with FSX running, or runs as a separate routine against FSX Scenery configuration while the simulator is not running.Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but …

hi everybody.I am in a very desolate situation. For no known reason all airports on my FSX scenery are not flat anymore and now have mesh breakthrough with trees and houses on them!I have installed FSGenesis mesh 3 years ago and never had any problems. No other mesh. I deactivated all my addon sceneries - still uneven airports.It is as if something is calculating lower airport elevations around the world or the flattening of airports doesn't work anymore.Does anyone have an idea what has happened and how I can find the problem?Reinstalling hundreds of sceneries and programs would be a disaster for me.I would be very thankful for help!Robert Picture of FSX default <Vanc…

Hi allI'm trying to change to the new XML-Design. I've got a question concerning the new exclude functionality.My Taxiway/Apron areas are photo-relalistic texture DXT1 Format & transparency. I also created a mask so that the grass texture can show through depending on the seasons. I've also created a new AFCAD File for the AI-Traffic. With the old style exclude no texture of the AFCAD Taxiways and APRONs showed up. With the new style exclude the AFCAD texture are visible at the borders of my photo-realistic textures (small parts because of differences AFCAD at for example curves)Is there a way to create invisble Taxiways in AFCAD? HiIm just wondering What software is out there to create airports.i want to make a small airstrip in a town near where i live, and im just wondering what software to use. its not a large airstrip, grass runway + taxiway, enough to land my DA42 at with about 3 or 4 parking spaces.Any suggestions/Help would be appreciated, or if someone offers to create it for me, even better :DHeres the Sketch of the airfield, the runway is 2000ft long, but the ramp is not to scale, not sure what size ramp i need to fit atleast 3 DA42's + 1 inside a hangar If anyone does offer to create this strip, i will provide more info on location etc etc... I have been having great difficulty with the SDK upgrade to the SP2 Acceleration version, despite following several tutorials I come up against a problem not mentioned, and that is this error message.Could not open key UKNOWN\components\1FA18F7974E099CD0AF18C3B9B1A1EE8\BFF381227A8CO47448A7DD2EA724B3FI was able without difficulty to install the SP1a version, but when I tried to install the SP2 version on the Acceleration disk I got this error, thinking to remove the whole SDK and start again, using add remove programs I got the very same error message. I have been using ADE9x to modify a stock airport by adding a newly activated runway. I have added the runway, but the gound textures are bleeding through at one end.I am being told this is because I did not "flatten" the terrain before I placed the runway.According to everything I've read, ADE9x allows you to use polygons to create a "flattened" area. But after going through the entire 199 page manual all I can find are references to ADE9x's ability to create a flatten, but no step by step instructions on how to do it?Straight from the manual: In the manual, the properties page of the example identify it as a "Flatten". Hi all, I have several freeware Fs9 airports which have really nice approach lighting structures. I would like to be able to add similar objects to other airports. Does anyone have a group of files making this possible with any of the object placer programs? I've looked into trying to make this myself, but it's beyond my limited understanding. Hi Folks,I am new to scenery design and now have ADE9X. I fly into an airport using FS9 and have realised that it is not accurate as per the charts and Google Earth. I have made some adjustments to it and also discovered how to add static aircraft, which is a big thing for me to do. Anyway, this is a 3rd party airport and the custom made scenery does not show in ADE. I checked using a default scenery airport and all the buildings showed up, so I am puzzled as to why the custom built ones do not. I have tried using the various managers etc to add them to the library like I have done with the static aircraft but nothing works. Some of these buildings are situated wrongly an…

Hi folks.I am currently reworking an airfield using ADE9X. This is still a work in progress. I have placed some new buildings and static aircraft but so far all I have in the new airfield scenery folder is the ADE9X bgl file no other bgl's and nothing at all in the texture folder.What do I do now so that I can then pass this new field onto some friends to try out? I am assuming that without any other bgl's and texture files they will not see any scenery at all.I am confused as to what happens now. I have obviously saved and compiled the field within ADE9X and see it ok in my own sim.

I'd like to adjust the overall shape of a default airport I'm working on. The grass texture extends way too far at one end of the runway. There must be a way an airport shape can be adjusted so that is doesn't cover underlying scenery. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

HiI have FSX Deluxe and SDK. However i do not have the Object Placement Tool sub-folder in the SDK Mission Creation folder. For some reason this is missing and thus no OPT at all.I installed SDK SP1A which uninstalled SDK and then installed SP1A. I then installed SDK SP2 (I have FSX Deluxe SP2) and this uninstalled SP1A and installed it to SP2.I thought this might have resolved the problem but again i see no OPT sub folder anywhere and so nothing shows in FSX tools.Does anyone know why the folder could be missing or am i missing something in not looking in the right place?I have the following folders in my SDK folder:-Core Utilities Folder--sub folders of SimConnectSimPro…

hi EverybodyI have experienced a problem with photo scenery maker. i have used the excellent tutorial from old hangar which have guided me most of the way. until now.i have calibrated the points (the two point calibration) i have exported it to the right folders, I have used both FS2000 Terrain SDK and imagetool. but for some reason the scenery doesn't show in FS9. its added in the library, and i have checked that both the BGL file in the scenery folder and the 256x256 pictures are in their folders.I have found quite a few topics about the same problem, but none of the solutions have helped me. any suggestions?Best RegardsLukas Agerskov

Hello,I am interested in creating scenery with the FSX Object placer tool. I cannot make the scenery appear where I have placed it. I have saved the scenery and it shows up as a .XML file in the folder where I have saved it. How can you convert it to create a .BGL file and what folder should it be placed in?

I discovered a few airports in an area of the world I have an interest in (Philippines) like Iloilo (RPVI). In Iloilo they have built a new International airport at a new location. The problem I run into when moving the airport is:1) the terrain is MUCH lower than in reality. How do I plateau the area of the airport?2) how do I get FSX to recognize the new airport and ignore the old one?I have tried moving the airport designator, the tower and completely rebuilding an airfield. No matter what I do AI fail to use the new airfield.I also failed to locate information on how to insert things like the airport designator and tower designator. Is it possible with ADE?Thanks in a…

Ok so heres what i want to do. I've created a photoreal scenery of Sydney Airport with FsEarthTiles, but its just a massive square block of photoreal ground with no blending back into the ORBX ground textures. What I want to do is somehow turn the water in the photoreal image into FSX water and blend the photoreal land back into the FSX Orbx Land textures.I've tried nothing, and I'm all out of ideas.I cant add alphas to the photoreal image either because all of the tiles seem to be contained in a BGL file.Any help would be appreciated. I don't know about you guys, but I think Southern California needs a nicely done GA airport for FS9. If you think about it, the only descent ones are from Shez Ansari such as Burbank and Long Beach. I would like to see someone do possibly Van Nuys, Santa Monica, or Camarillo. That would be great and it would definitly get a lot of interest on Avsim. Just a thought, what do you guys think?Chris A.
