Hi, Just curious on what would be the easiest way to add a runway. I want to add one in the antarctic region near Mcmurdo. I have tried doing it with AFCAD, but it won't add it. Am I missing a step here. I selected ICE as the material for the runway. Any help woudl be appreciated. Thanks,regards,Macs

Hi,this is my first post on this forum,or in fact any forum, so here goes, I want to recreate England/ East Anglia as it was during the latter stages of WW2, pretty much just a giant aircraft carrier, there were basically 2 types of bomber bases, the standard class A layout and the expansion type built in the late 1930s to deal with the looming threat. Hey People,Its been a while since ive posted in the forums (almost a year) and im glad to say im back and ready to help! But first i need a little help.Recently Ive been working on some scenery for Sydney (YSSY) for FSX and have been modelling a brand new frame rate friendly domestic terminal (the default one sucks!)What I want to do is remove the default terminal somehow and replace it using Flight 1's Instant Scenery.Any idea's on how to remove it? I have several airport sceneries installed, and I have noticed that in some areas of them there is never am AI plane parked. I have every WOAI airline installed plus all of the ones available in Flightsim and Avsim plus I have created several airline flight plans of my own.There are specific areas on which FS9 does not place any aircraft. I have used Lee Swordy AFCAD program to verify and correct issues, but I still don't get any aircraft to park there.I first thought the were disconnect nodes on the taxiways but that is not the case. Hello,After FS2004 was released, my local airport had both of its runways extended. I have zero experience with scenery modification or deisgn and have searched the forums but couldn't find any solid advice as to how to extend the runways in FS2004. Hi all,Could someone give some advice on the best product to purchase that will allow me to easily place skyscrapers around sparse FS9 cities. I have used programs that allow me to add oil rigs, cargo ships, small buildings etc, but nothing to place large buildings. I have a very fast system running FS9 so FPS is not an issue, ideally I would like Flytampa style VHHX buildings to place but maybe that's asking for too much.Thanks

HI, Just curious if an addition of an airport is an automatic weather station in FS? In other words, if the name of a new added airport has a corresponding updateable METAR information in real life will there be automatic updating for that newly added airport? In what file is all this information available? Sorry if it sounds so confusing, I'm just not sure how to word it. regards,Masc

Is there a good reference someone can point me to regarding the operation of vehicles (I guess fuel trucks mainly) at airports? I'm making vehicle paths and understand that they need to be connected to aircraft parking paths if they are to service an aircraft. Question is do I have to always use vehicle pathways? In areas where I would not like a surface to be drawn, for example, can I use apron pathways to finish the connection to the vehicle parking path? I've never used a fuel truck in the sim so not familiar with how they work but don't want to be ignorant of other simmers when designing my scenery and I want to make sure I implement their use properly. Good evening,My GMax started doing this 2 days ago. See image for error message... I uninstalled the gamepack fs2004, re-installed, and keep getting the message... it's as if it can't find the right path to the script...My fsx gamepack works fine, only the fs2004 is not working.I have separate startup icons depending which one i am designing for.If i design for fs2004, i start gmax with the gmax for fs2004 icon... so it loads the right startup script...Any help would be appreciatedMarc

Hello,I am working on a airport called ESPA, this airport is next to the shoreline and is tilting downward to the beach in real life. THL 14 = 65ft (ILS CAT I)THL 32 = 21ft (ILS CAT II)Aerodrom elev (in AIP) = 65ft.Apron elevation = around 40ft (give or take 3ft)Runway length = 3350mdistance THL 32 to shoreline = about 270mAt witch altitude would you place the runway (and the airport in general) to get a nice tilt from the THL 32 to the shoreline (with the serviceroads and LOC antennas, approach lights etc.) and to get the best approach to the CAT II approach?The land between THL 32 and the sea could be done with a 3D mdl that is put there...Do anyone know a way to do til…

I've spent the evening trying to get a fence out of the freeware version. I've succeeded in getting the sections to appear and they are along the perimeter of the area I've described. The problem is that each section of fence is offset around 20 degrees to the overall heading of the required fence line. What am I missing? Thanks.

In my professional life I work alot with GIS data, georeferenced aerial photographs and so on as I find sites for large facilities. I have been thinking about the idea of taking Images (they can be geotiffs or any other format) and exporting them draped over detailed mesh (USGS DEM or the local more detailed equivalent) to FSX and doing some visual movies. It seems like a good combination of my two interests (I am a long time flightsimmer and R/W instrument rated pilot)and doesnt appear to be too difficult in concept. What is the best way to change the shape of the grass apron of an airport and not lose the taxiway signs and or other objects? Im familiar with Sbuilder. I can successfully remove the default apron and add my own poly for the apron, but I end up having to exclude the trees which show up from underlying landclass. When I do that exclude with SceneGenX I lose everything including taxiway signs. What I'd like to do is actually edit the default apron. Is that possible with any tools at our disposal? Im talking FS9 here.

Hi folks.I am a complete noob to ADE, but I have some free time and wanted to try improving the look of my home airport. I read the manual, all FAQ's, and the forums, and I cant find an answer to my problem. Hi, i have fsearthtiles, and Ive generated scenery with it before, maybe in January, but one day, it just stopped showing up? i did not install/uninstall anything. well, yesterday i figured i would try to make new scenery for my area, (KSYR), well, i got all the stuff done, put the "Syracuse" folder in my add-on scenery, added it in my flightsim, restarted, and boom, nothing, can you please tell me what im doing wrong?
