When attempting to create a bgl fil for FS 2004 with Abacus FSDS 3.0 I get the following erroor "Failed To Create Log File" earlier today I was successful in creating a file the only change was to reposition 180 degrees and a slight change to the concordances... I have check with Abacus forums and find no immediate sollution... Thanks Randy

Hello everyoneI was trying to made a Mesh with SBuilder but no successI dowloaded the .HGT files from the NASA website, converted it to .BSQ and .BMP, then used the .BMP as a map, calibration was correct because was the original calibration from the .HGT fileAnd for a unknow reason, SBuilder modified the calibration of the mesh map and it looks very small now after clicking the Mesh buttonThen click in one of the tiles where the mesh map is and I got this messageHelp please

I have a Ft. Lauderdale downtown scenery that was made for FS9 however it also works in FSX. The only problem is that although it does have night textures included, they dont come on at night. It looks fine in the day, but I would love to be able to view the buildings lit up at night.Are there any tools I could use to somehow manipulate the bgls that are included to call the night textures in FSX? The scenery is comprised of about 20 bgl's that are responsible for one building each. Honestly I would be happy to just get one of the building to light up at night, that one building being the Auto Nation building that is very visible at KFLL due to its purple lighting.Any hel…

Hello everyone!I am looking for some assistance.I have a small local field by my home that I want to create a realistic scenery for.Why do I say this?Simple. I need help. I would love to get an realistic scenery made of my local airport, KVNC, here in Venice, FL. It is a small GA airport, just not at all realistic in FSX...Is anyone out there interested in creating a small, simple scenery for this airport?I am not looking for fancy opening hanger doors and the like...I would prefer buildings in their correct location! HiI generated some photo tiles using sbuilder. I just had summer season to start. Decided to get adventurous and try lightmaps. If I click summer and lightmap in the photo tile options box it generates the bgl and the two sets of textures, but FS9 crashes when trying to load the area at any time of day. If I generate the bgl again with just summer checked, then FS9 works OK, but of course black squares at night.Perhaps I am going the wrong way about it with lightmaps. Any help appreciated.editThought I should maybe point sbuilder to a different bmp for the lightmap on the photo background property tab. Hello all,I've just spent a little time over at the 'FSDeveloper.com' forums trying to work my way through making some RNAV STARs for DXB in accordance to the latest 2011 charts. After reading the topic over and over again I'm still having trouble enabling the approaches. The best I can do is add the Terminal Waypoints for the approach according to the 2011 Jeppesen Charts. If someone could please inform me via a 'Step by Step' method of how to allow these approaches to be flown in FS2004 would be much appreciated. I have spent countless hours searching and playing around on ADE9x and getting as far as adding the waypoints. Thanks in advance, EK433B77W.

Hello All --- well I am trying to make my first island, and cannot even get to first base with SBuilderX. I understand the work flow needed to make an island, fundamentally. But, I cannot even get an exclusion rectangle to clear sea water in order to get started.I have read a number of writeups by people who have done this, but even following what they did, I can't get to even view seabottom.Here is what I have tried: (all my locations are set correctly).1. I have been recently unemployed so in my downtime until I find new work I have decided to takle an old project I started and lost due to a hard drive crash a few years back that I think the FS community will be happy to have.I am planning on making this for use in FS9 however I like to build it in FS 2002 and then tweek it for FS9 also FS2002 lets me have a faster/smoother workflow. In places like lower New York, theres still snow on the ground late March and everything is all white. I find this very unrealistic, and I have to move the date up to mid-April or so to get the scenery all green. The truth is it's there is very little white in any part of March in lower New York especially Long Island in particular.What I want to do is change the setting that tells FS that in march to display the winter/snow ground textures. I would rather it display the green spring textures. Well I would rather it did a fallish texture that is more dead foliage or such and then late march/early april would be the green. I've built a scenery with ADE and all is well except that the exclusion box will not work for whatever reason on the original airport taxi signs. Now I don't know how to disable the default version of the airport so that the signs will not appear in inappropriate places such as the middle of a taxiway.I was also wondering if anyone knows something better to design scenery than the ancient EOD or Object Maker the payware one.

I have been working since mid-December on a modification to the default scenery for KCLT that adds the new runway. I have been using a combination of EZ-Scenery and ADE9x to accomplish this and, after a few setbacks, actually uploaded a file to the AVSIM Library for download by others. 600+ downloads later I have been trying to "tweak" the scenery and provide a better end product.Using ADE9x, I added the ILS NAVAIDS for the new runways (18R and 36L) using data from AirNav for accuracy. HiI have been using the object placement tool to place some deafult scenery objects in an xml file.When I re-open the xml file to continue working, some of the objects have disappeared but yellow box containers remain, much enlarged. These have be selected from the list to be deleted. I keep cleaning this mess up but it keeps on recurring. Does anyone know what is wrong?ThanksJason

Hello everyoneI have a problem with the FS2002 gamepack (gmax, makemdl and mdlcommander) when compiled the .bgl file (using the BGLC_9) didn't show up in FS9, I checked the coordinates and they're the same I used when exported it with the FS2004 gamepack, back then it worked fine in FS and the scenery become visible, but with the FS2002 gamepack the scenery file isn't visibleHere is the code (already tweaked) of the *.asm file And the tweaked code of the *_0.asm file Please help, what I'm doing wrong?

Hi folks,I have modified my sim1.dll (in FS9.1) file to give lower ground friction on the 'normal' ground surfaces. All works fine but now I have a new addon with 'Oil Treated' as the taxiway surface. My aircraft rolls faster on mud than on this stuff but it's there to give the correct colour surface so I don't want to change it! If anyone knows the HEX values needed to modify this setting in sim1.dll I would appreciate it if they posted them here.Cheers,Geoff

HiHave this irritating problem...I was experimenting with ADE and created a number of compiled airports which I activated to test, then deactivated. After removing all the airport bgls, I was surprised to see the airports are still referred to in the Free Flight directory of FSX. You can even go there but there's nothing there but deafult scenery of course.Evidently the airports I made have created a reference in some kind of scenery database or file, that includes LAT, LON and ALT, and that removing the bgls does not remove the reference.How can a remove this reference?ThanksJason
