    Hi,Does anyone know in what order to apply the various transforms in a MDL file? There are various "BGL_SET_MATRIX_INDIRECT" commands which seem to refer to an ANIC section, which in turn refers to the TRAN section but when I apply the most recently selected matrix, the models aren't all the right way up.Thanks,Jim

    Hi,I have a bit of an issue with FS and placing objects I've crated in gMax in certain parts of the world.I can place stuff at the default location of just off RW34 at KSEA, but, if I simply change the co-ordinates, and re-compile, and go to the new location, they don't appear!!!! I know I'm entering the co-oridnates properly as I can place the object anywhere in the USA no probs (I did this several times to confirm). If I try and place it within +/- 1 degree of the Greenwich Meridian however, the objects simply don't appear, yet there are no error messages, eiither. I'm tearing my hair out!! I first noticed it when I attempted to replace a default FS bridge with a test b…

    Hi,I can't figure out at all how you add a custom airport texture, and I've spent hours reading through the SDKs, and it still doesn't make any sense!! I've figured out how to flatten (at last!!), and how to add my own entry into the scenery.cfg file (this is where I place the flatten option). That was an FS2k (not 2k2 or 2k4!) scenery design technique that still works it seems!Anyone a basic .xml excerpt that will place a custom texture?Many thanks in advance!!Best regards,Vulcan.

    Hello all, I've been running searches on Google and here for two days now and I have not found an answer to this question or any examples; has anyone had any success, in the new FS9 XML format, combining effects and triggers? For example you have a forrest fire and want to add a thermal due to the fire. I can add the fire and I can add the thermal but the thermal is there all the time even though the fire is only there during certain dates and times. I would like to combine the two. When I try it refuses to compile. Any ideas?Chris

    Hi all, Im a total newbie when it comes to scenery design so please excuse my ignorance if the following does not make sense.I have a airport installed which uses some static aircraft which I would like to remove. There is no way of telling which bgl files contain the statics from the way they are named.Original author has changed his email so have not been able to email him.Is the a utility available that will display the contents of the bgl files?CheersPete :)

    Is there a way to exclude a model in a scenery. I ask because I found out that the hangar or building I have in front of a jetway at EHAM airport is in the X:Microsoft Gamesfs9SceneryEurwSceneryAmsterd.bgl and there are all .mdl files in it.

    As part of a learner project, I'm trying to create some bridges over a river. Using the BGLComp SDK, I've figured out how to place standard scenery library objects using their GUID and orienting them in the landscape using latitude, longitude, altitude, heading, pitch and roll. This is all done using handbuilt XML files as defined in the BGL SDK.It works quite well for the placement of single objects or groups of single objects but I've run into a snag with bridges. It seems that most bridges are built using a number of smaller generic segments which have to be placed and oriented so that they are aligned and abut one another.     Greetings, simmers. This is my first post in this forum. I hope someone out there can help me. I downloaded the Incheon Int'l Airport addon "The Winged City" from this site. Came with an auto-installer and I used it. Everything seemed fine--except that I noticed every time I would boot up the game, a new entry for the airport would automatically be added in the scenery library. So after playing the game five times, I'd now have five different listings of Incheon Int'l, each with its own little red check mark.I uninstalled the scenery, but it STILL is adding a new entry to the library every time I start the program.     I'm using CellGrid2004a to generate a grid overlay to be used in Coastline Maker. However, I've run into a bit of a snag. The grid overlay is draped over the contours of the terrain which means that when the grid is viewed using the top-down view, the gridlines are not straight and orthogonal. This is particularly evident in mountainous areas. The grid cells are irregularly shaped which makes it difficult to use the grid with any accuracy.Any suggestions on how to overcome this problem?Thanks.

    I have a default hangar sitting halfway into a taxiway which has two effects...1) the AI taxi through the building like they have some kind of Star Trek phased cloak and 2) I hit the building everytime I want to go around it.So, my objective is to move the hangar. I don't want it deleted just moved what looks like about 8 feet NNW from it's present location.I know just enough about scenery design to be dangerous so I need a little help. What I know is that I need to delete the building from the default with an exclude and then add it back, in it's new location with a new bgl created with BGL_comp2.     Hi, all I'm making custom approach light for my Inchoen Intl Airport(RKSI) scenery. I made lights using gmax LIGHT_NAV material. And I made them show only at dusk and night by BGLC code tweaking. It's great! But my custom lights don't work in fog. :(; Default approach light is visible during day time in case of low visibility. So How can I make my lights visible in fog? I searched the BGLC variable relative to visibility but it's vain. Or is there another way?And this is another question...I want directional lights (visible only one side).     Ive been trying to create scenery again after a long absence.I was just wondering... do you assign transparent textures the same way you did in fs2002??I assign a texture with an alpha channel to the opacity map, and it becomes transparent in gmax but not in the sim...Any help.. or a good link to a tutorial ... would be appreciated.JohnNewburgh, IN

    I have searched this forum as well as all kinds of web sites and have not really found any help on this question.I am working on a local airport, adding missing buildings, lakes, etc. There is a lake located very near the end of one runway and about 90 feet below runway level. The problem is that Microsoft used way too big of a flatten area (a few hundred meter past the end of the runway) for this airport and I cannot remesh the terrain near the end of the runway. Is there any way to resize this flatten so that I can remesh closer to the runway?

    I don't know if this is the right forum, but here goes..I have been searching for some light aircraft (Cessna/Piper etc) to add to a number of airports to provide a bit of realism, but I can't really find anything.There are thousands of flyable and AI aircraft in all the libraries, but macros virtually nothing.     not sure this is the place to look for this info, but am starting here!I fly a lot of GA and for a change up now and again, use my AOPA Airport directory to pick out airports that look interesting. I found a cool one at KBDE..Baudette International in Minnesota. its right on the Canadian border. Neat because it has an uncontrolled airfield with a good asphalt strip, a grass strip and a lake beside it with a designated water landing strip. Pretty cool..and thats real life.I decided to juice up the afcad for this airport and would like to create a separate afcad file bde2 for the water strip.     Is it possible to exclude mesh for a certain small area? My situation is this: I have the wonderful FS Genesis 38.2m mesh installed for Michigan, but I want to use BozAir's scenery for Mackinaw Island. The BozAir scenery has its own less accurate mesh that is incompatible with FSGenesis' and trying to use both is not an option. Is there any way to exclude the FSGenesis scenery for that small area only?
