Ok, have looked around in forums and almost everything I read about lightmaps are in regard to objects and aircraft. Here's what I need to do. I've created photoreal textures that have been installed as addon scenery and in the texture subdirectories of each are the DXT1/Alpha tiles for each LOD square. Because of the enormity of the area I'm doing I've only created summer textures (the ground doesn't change that much from season to season in Phoenix anyway). I've also taken on the huge task, using the Annotator program, of defining autogen buildings and vegetation for the hundreds of texture files I've created.What comes up missing is when I fly over the new scenery …

I remember a LONG time ago using a program which would convert aircraft model files to a bgl file, allowing you to place the aircraft as a static in the scenery.Is there such a program that will do it for FS9, at a stretch FS2002?Any help appreciated. Thanks:-hmmm

I have installed several airport scenery folders in FS2004 where some of the ground textures show up as white. All of these tend to be such things as aprons, taxiways and roads, where there should be textures like concrete, or asphalt and such.I am concerned that I may not have the correct textures installed or the program is not reading the textures properly.Can someone help? What programs should be associated with reading .r8 files? When I click on some of them in the directory I get an error that Paint can not read the file and it is not a valid bitmap or it's format is not supported. Is it possible some of my files are associated with the wrong program to read them…

Hi everyone -I want to be able to dynamically move a static BGL object on the fly by changing it's lat/lon position from an external program.I have established communication between an interface for FS9 and a simulation running on a separate computer. I'm not a scenery designer, but I'm willing to try and accomplish this if it isn't too difficult. As everyone in the Dallas, TX area knows, Reunion Tower is lit up at night. I've noticed in FS 2004 it's not lit at all. It is in there, and can be seen, but no lights on at night. Does anyone know how I could fix this, since it really is part of the Dallas skyline at night, and it's a shame it's not lit up. Any help or steering in the right direction would really be appreciated. All that should be needed is to add lights to the frame so the "ball" is completely lit, sort of like the one that drops at times square(but not to the same extent). See picture below. Thanks!…

Newbie needing some help here!I recently began using Ground2K4 (G2K4)and created an island project which I can save and re-open showing no apparent problems with accessing the VTP2 Line/Shore pick list for creating/editing LWM polys with shore and their accompanying shore lines.The problem I have now is that when I create a new project which involves a LWM poly with shore, the VTP2 Line/Shore pick list is either grayed out and non-responsive to clicks etc., or the pick list entries are missing entirely; in both of these cases, the pictures of the textures associated with the pick list items do not show.When I exit the new project and open my orginal island project, everyt…

I'm very new to this and I am trying to get into scenery development for FS9.I have a fairly good idea about every single aspect, but not the whole lot together. And it's fairy hard to find proper tutorials covering all subjects in relation to eachother. So I hope to get some help here. :)Say; I want to project a satelite photo onto the ground of a whole city. I guess I'll do this in MSN Terrain SDK; or is there a better option? Will it tile the background automagically? Hi,As the forum seems so quite, here is something that I am planing to add to SBuilder (SB) when I finish my current scenery project (in addition to support BGLCOMP).In SB data representation I will treat polygons just as lines. At the moment a line is set of 2 double precision numbers (lat and lon) and a single precision number (the width of the point). On the contrary, polygons are sets of 2 double precision numbers (lat and lon). I will add a 3rd parameter to be altitude. I plan to keep the SB interface almost untouched. Hello to all: I am newbie with this program. I made some works and everything work fine. Now I am remaking an area of a delta where there are many rivers. I place lines of river coast, polygons of coast and of rivers exclusion (to remove the previous coasts and rivers) and it assigns polygons of water to those "new" rivers and land polygons to those "new" islands. The problem is that: from the column 0 to 5 all work fine but the columns 6 and 7 appear everything less the land polygons. I have left the coast in the means of the water. This work has 382 points of VTP lines (the coast), 71 land and water polygons and 47 polygons of exclusion of rivers and coast.…

I'm still on course on my huge Phoenix photoreal project (I keep finding new really cool areas to add to the peripherals) and have found the most daunting aspect to the whole process is laying down decent autogen buildings and vegetation on the over thousands of scenery tiles that have been created. Annotator from the Microsoft Scenery SDK is basic program but it's giving me carpal tunnel having to draw the box around every building and vegetation area. Some of the tiles are huge housing developments and to get the real effect of the myriad of homes (especially the night lighting from them) you have to create hundreds of little tiny buildings per tile. I would like to be able to remove the two large Cruise Ships that are berthed on the Miami City waterfront.None of the exclude programs I have tried will do the trick.This leads me to believe that they have been put their by MS - perhaps in one or two bgl files that possibly are located in the"FS9sceneryWORLDscenery" folder.If this might be true, how do I identify which of them to "remove" ? Given the new runway designations at KMIA, I have changed my AFCAD files, but I don't know how to change the facility directory inside of FS9, it has added runways 8/26 but left 9L and 27R the same and not changed 9R to just 9, ect. Any ideas?Randy Jura, KPDX

HelloI have Toni Agramont's Caribbean scenerys but have a problem with incorrect placement and elevation of buildings which i think is due to my FsGenesis mesh for this area.Can anyone tell me what mesh these scenerys where based on .I cannot seem to be able to contact Mr Agramont through the email address included in the Readme files.

...for VTP shorelines? I've been making really thin shores, and they start to become very obvious in slarti output. It is much faster just to remove them, than to try and reduce their size...Read through a few threads here, and while I think everyone agrees that they're needed, no one really stated what happens if they're not there...Just thought maybe someone here could save me the time and energy of actually doing the experiment.Thanks!sg

HiDoes anybody know of a utility that can scan a folder and "identify" the BGL-files which ar AFCAD files. I know that AFCAD 2.21 is able to tell if a certain file is AFCAD or not, but what I am looking for is a program that can scan a whole folder of files an sort out the ones that contain AFCAD data.Lars Frederiksen

Did a search on the forum topics, but didn't find this question or anything even close to it. I use XML to place all sorts of objects, and even create exclusions. One of the programs I want to use is Richard Ludowise's TCalc2004 v2 -- from the looks of it, it's exactly what I need to get the precise positons of the max/min Lats and Lons to define the excludes in XML.But I'm having a problem. D/L of the file (from AVSim, of course) was nominal, no problems. Unzipping the files into a dedicated directory, also nominal. Copying FDSConnection.dll into the FS9/Modules folder -- again, nominal (date/time stamp on the file and file size verified with original, no problem). …

I have been using this program and like it alot. The problem is at the aircraft add-on page there isn't that many static aircraft. The question is can I add more objects to this program like diffant aircraft.ThanksJonathan

I am using AI Flight Creator. Is there a way to use add-on aircraft as AI aircraft. It only shows me default FS9 aircraft as a choice. Or is there a better program to use, Thanks Again, Steve

After moving to a new hardware platform, I'm reinstalling all my software. I have a question about G2K4, which might also extend to other utilites.I installed G2K4 by installing V5.1, and the V5.4 (which is the main exe only). OK so I might have done something wrong somewhere along the line but WHERE???!!!. Let me first explain. I have large areas of gray in my scenery. Some cover about 100 square miles (diamond point and strom for example) Another covers the whole New York and surrounding area.(about 2-300 square miles and yet another place is upsyate New York with the scenery hap hazardly gray in smaller patches mixed with good but the latter covering maybe 5-600 square miles. I have installed mega scenery for NY flew it and it was good. then one day it was gray so I took it out but is still gray.I have installed "Lennarts Textures" and I have a slight suspicion it might have something to do …

Hi FolksI have designed a lot of scenery for my own personal use and would like to share some of it with other simmers.I have a question.I use FSSC, Rwy 12 and Lago for my sceneries and need to now how to find all of the Textures I used to include with the uploads. Is there a program that will read the BGLs and list the textures used or do tou have to research each macro and file to determine the textures?I guess Im looking for the easy way out to make this simple and more exact.ThanksJim
