Hey guys for those who don't Know there is a fix for the Window's Transparency Problem most of us get after converting a model to work with FS9 from FSX Removing the Mask from the windows in the Alpha Channel did the trick for me. Cheers :-) Do not remove the Alpha (this will cause fs9 to stutter) Simply open the Texture of the Modle in DXT BMP you can see the windows are there but if you look at the Alpha channel it is mask for transparency (FS9 will not render this mask as FSX does so simply send the Alpha channel to Editor and use the Fill tool to change them to white and Presto once the sim Loads your windows will show.

Hi there, I encountered a problem with resample for which I do not have a solution: For a side project, I created a FS2004 land classification from Corine Data (2006, 100 m res) and saved it as an 8 bit unsigned integer geotiff using GDAL in QGIS. At this point, everything is fine, the raster values are correct and where they should be. Also the projection of the geotiff is WGS1984, so it appears to be correct. Hey guys I was wondering how thiis is done (If an Airport is not listed in the Simulator how do i go about creating an Afcad for this Airport) I have an Airport i created for FSX a while back but chose to uninstall FSX due to System Performance although i do still have the Airport backed uo in a zip i was able to convert the Airport to work an FS9 had to change the GUID's to match the placement Files LONG and Latt and converted the AF2 file with FSX2FS9 but seems like this Airport still doesnt come up in the sImulator's list even with the Afcad Active any ideas?

I have added crows, gulls and eagles to a scenery with IS3. How can I add sounds? I remember hearing gull sounds in some FSX scenery. I'd like to add the gulls, eagles, crows and parrots sounds. Is there any way? I can add .wav sounds if none are available in FSX already but I don't know how to put them in FSX. Bob.

I've installed a very nice new freeware KALB addon scenery and no matter what I try I cannot get rid of the default terminal building. When I start FSX at a gate at KALB, there are no jetways and my plane is half in the old terminal building. I've tried both excluding it and then deleting it from the basic airport bgl using ADEX with no success. , I searched for duplicate AFCADs but with no success. Seems there is ghost hiding somewhere. any suggestions?

I installed SDK to my FSX . I then corredted the dll.xml as suggested but when i run the free flight, in fsx there is no tool or addon menus at the top of the screen, to click to open the object placement tool. I have tried to find support for SDK to find help on fixing the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions? Jerry

Need help. I have got back into creatign some airport structures for FSX using FSDS v3.5.1... I forget the process for getting night texturing on the structures to display in the game.. After creating a model part and selecting Parts/ Textures and selecting the texture file to use on various surfaces, there is an option to add N ( adds _lm) to the file name. When I do this it does not work ( i.e. no night lighting effects, even in the FSDS night view window.). If I dont tick the N box and simply choose a file that has an "_lm" counterpart in the FSX/Textures folder, then I can see the night lighting effects within the FSDS window but after compiling it, in the game itse…

I've corrupted the grasslands of all my default and self designed airports with an overlay that I can't find now. (Payware airports are OK). Been through all the folders I can think of eg. Addon Scenery, Scenery, Textures, etc. tried different detail1.bmp files (only changing the resolution of runways, taxiways etc). Does anyone recognise this and where to get rid of it? Edwards AFB but ALL airports world wide are the same. Thank you.

Hi, Can you please help me with this. I am running FSX, water effects set to Low 1.x The reason of that setting is that the water colors reminds me of the FS9 water colors. I enjoy it that way except one thing: I don't like the muddy water which did not exist in FS9. I think that the type of water is determined by the landclass/waterclass so I don't want to redo the water classes worldwide What I would like to do is replace the default FSX muddy water texture by the dark/deep green water texture. Hi all KORD by FSDT is on my buy list however the AI aircraft wont sit in their parking bays in the demo Because the AI , Do sit correctly in default KORD , Im assuming that FSDT is picking up a rogue AFCAD? My AI is by WOAI so far I have 1. unchecked all scenery in the library 2. searched for duplicates with AIRPORT SCANNER 3. searched KORD in all scenery files so far i cant find another AFCAD. I believe that AI flight plans may also be responsible but I wouldn't know how to search for them Any help appreciated

Hey guys! Good evening. I followed the tutorial on creating custom jetways for FSX using this link: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=Jetway_IK_video_tutorial After creating it, I export it as an MDL file from Gmax and Import it to FSX with SBuilderX. For some reason, the jetway never shows up in the scenery. What could I be doing wrong? I follow the development in Gmax and export the object but I can't see it once I add it in SbuilderX and compile it for FSX. Any help is greatly appreciated! Regards, Teo

As the topic asks... are we stuck using the SDK's Annotator tool for FSX autogen placement, or are there any 3rd party tools which have expanded upon the idea. I know FS9 has the AGenT tool which was developed for some UK scenery, but I am not certain that it is compatable with FSX or if there are any other tools available. I ask because if there was a tool to make annotation easier, I'd be very tempted to spin up TileProxy and start laying down autogen in various regions.-Greg

Anyway, I'm trying to fix some issues with the HDE sky textures by editing them. But I can't find this online anywhere, so here goes: which of the five pixels at the top left controls what? My edit will basically consist of changing some of them for the night textures. Second question - is there any built in smoothing between sky textures as the time changes, or do you have to edit them so that the change isn't noticeable?

I was wondering if someone could teach me or point me to a tutorial that could help me investigate the possibility of adding a PAPI light system to an add-on airport (personal use only planned since I didn't make the original). One of my favorite airports has a fairly nice add-on scenery. It is however a steep approach in mountainous terrain. The last terrain obstacle is pretty far out though, about 10 DME and it is possible (and actually typically) to transition to visual once clear and descend to something of a more normal 3-4 degree glideslope for short final. I've come to realize that I really enjoy having realistic looking city-scapes/skylines in my sim, so I'd like to try my hand at adding generic (and possibly custom) building objects to my landscape. Hello, On the stock EHAM airport i have on runway 18C 2 ILS approaches. don't know how it happend? One is right on the spot but the other is offset to the right. so this one needs removed. When i fly this is approach the aircraft pick up the one that is right of the runway. Have tried with AFX save the new bgl to addon scenery. But the stock airport ''over rule'' this one. Even with Adonn Scenery on top of the list. So how can i fix this?
