Hi out there, I found a link to a very nice freeware scenery for Milano Malpensa made by Darren Carey: http://www.fsopen.co.uk/forum/posts/listposts.php?threadid=2551 Darren posted a download link via 4shared. He added a new link on the 2nd. April 2012. The first link is dead and with the second link I get to 4shared but instead of downloading the zip file I get a lot of different commercial sites or banners. Is this link working for anybody, does anybody has this scenery or is able to provide a working link? Thnx for any help Tom

Looking for some advice - I finished my first "real" airport scenery (KMKG) and I'm starting on my next: KAZO. Kalamazoo is interesting as it has some cool terminal buildings as well as a stellar aviation museum. And that is my challenge. The museum has several parked aircraft outside in the grass right next to the taxiway. What would be the best way to model these in game? Is anyone aware of the following aircraft created as a bgl? Aircraft needed: Fedex 727 S-3 Viking T-33 Shooting Star Lear 25 (I'd be ok with any Lear) F-84 Thunderstreak B-57 Canberra F-104 Starfighter MiG-21 (not a deal breaker if I can't find) Several options for planes I cant find: …

Succinctly: Is it possible? I understand that any scenery designed with those libraries would need to be used on a computer having the same libraries installed, but I'm mainly thinking about personal-use only work and nothing for distribution. Thanks for any insights and experiences, -Greg

Greetings, Not sure if this is the right forum or not, but giving it a whirl. I am a GA flyer only, and one of the cool add-ons available for GA airports is the Orbx AI Traffic freeware product. It puts static and active GA aircraft in select Orbx regions (AU, PNW, PFJ, hopefully more as time goes on) to make things more "alive". For example, while I am at Ramp Parking 6 at Portland-Troutdale I can have a Learjet pass behind me while I am going through start-up procedures. Other airports will have a host of GA aircraft on the apron, ranging from tail-dragging Cubs to Piaggio P-180 and helicopters, mostly static, but some are animated with Object Flow mobility. V…

Is there a way by using something (e.g. shp2vec) of generating an exclude for photo scenery in a lower priority layer? I would prefer getting whatever non-photo scenery is below that (which I will then embellish).

Hello! I have been dealing with photoscenery for many years now, but this one has me stumped. I have compiled a BGL (LOD=Auto,13) from a BMP source after geo-referencing correctly in the INF. The resultant BGL looks correct (and is in the right place) when viewed in TMFViewer. However, adding this into the simulator does not seem to load the BGL. Layers and correct, Scenery sub-folder is correct etc. Tried playing with the scenery resolution slider but that also does not have any effect. Any other things to consider? Thanks! Arvind.

I've recently installed the Weather Themes SDK and have been using it to create a few of my own weather themes. I've been generall successful, however, I am having a problem though that I hope I can get resolved. When I load one of my weather themes, the weather that I see is the weather I've created for the default cell (the yellow box), rather then the theme I've defined within the boundaries of my workspace. Only if I reload my same theme, can I see my complete theme (i.e. I see the weather as I defined my theme, only after I reload it a second time, otherwise, I get the Global weather I defined in my theme). Hi all, I am looking for a very simple light object included in a library. Basically a light without a lamp pole. Ideally just the round shining ball, if such a thing is possible. Or else a streetlamp with a very simple pole. This could be a great improvement for my Evo release because the street lamp light objects I used for my 3D lights are causing a fps hit. I am seeking some scenery library objects for the usually stand-alone big retailers like Wal-Mart, Lowes Building products, etc. I had a file for Winn Dixie (Grocery) Shell Oil (retail gas station) and Walmart that I used a couple of years ago but it evidently did not make it to my current PC and my searches are turned up empty. I am looking to overlay my MegaSceneryEarth V2 with some of these to add a little 3D in the flight paths. Regards, Ray

Hello,I'm working on a small program for auto-creating vegetation .agn files for photosceneries. My algoritm sims not too bad, but my problem is to found how to create the names of the files. A name like : 001222131202100an.agn include the coordinates, based on the Lod13 grid. But I don't know how to calculate the Lod13 grid, neither coding the .agn filename.May be, the answer is somewhere in this forum but I can't found it. Can someone help me?ThanksPhilippe

Hi, to everybody (this is my first post :-))I'd like to modify (in part delete)custom coastlines made by a very talented italian scenery designer who has built the entire coastline for the whole Italy (AKA Itacoast2). I'm workin' now on the Palermo airport (place where I work as real ATCer) and I'd like to enhance the coast around the airport. I used many tools like coastmaker or defarea to do it, but the old custom coastline is still there, besides I don't want to switch the Itacoast2 off because I'd loose the other part I wanna keep. Hi everyone.. I need to help about sbuilderx bgl comp. I want to change default land textures to water textures.I am using sbuilderx default hydro poly. After this ,I do Select/All Polygons and going to make bgl button..But not selectable any box in bgl comp window. I guess I cant select any polygons :S I am trying again, select/all polygons, make bgl but same.. Any idea?

Hi Guys! Myself and a mate of mine have designed and are in the process of building a full scenery package for the small GA Aerodrome located in the South of Tasmania, Australia. The strips called Cambridge Airport (YCBG) and the default rendering of it just doesn't live up to what it could potentially be. We have added the extra runway, taxiways, terrain and are in the process of attempting to make 3D Buildings which will be photoreal for the strip. Anybody with any experience with scenery development and design for FSX, we would love to have on board! Hi All, I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction. My son wanted me to build an airport for him (He's 10). I can use ADE9 to make the airport itself, no probs, and i've figured out how to flatten the area and make exclusions (again with ADE9). But how do i make (I'm not sure what its called) the area that the airport is built on. Stock and add on airports have (in most cases) a green grass like area (polygon??) that everything is built onto. It appears to mask the underlying FS9 ground textures. Any help please?? Peter

Ok im asking for help on this one as i am having major problems and have tried everything so far i can think of . Ok the problem i am having im working on photo real so far i got the .BGL file done along with the watermask and blendmask its complete there before i start adding the autogen to it and models i need to clean up the areas where the default is showing up around the shore lines due to the default not being in the correct location . i tried to follow the tutorial that is out there for using sbuilderx but that shows how to do it with an island and makes really no sense to me tbh . Just starting out in ADE (Airport Design Editor) and I noticed that when I use a stock airport from FSX, I can edit taxiways just fine and they have lights if it is a lighted stock airport. When I start to draw my NEW taxi way there are no lights. So my work around is of course to use existing taxiways with lights on them. I read the ADE taxiway section and it did not address the lighting part so and I must have missed it. I have searched longer than I would have liked so now my questions here. Main question.. How do I set taxiway lights ON or OFF when setting up my taxiways using ADE? Thanks!!!

I modeled stadium lights and added environment maps to semi-transparent glass. Since there are several bulbs on each stadium light, several lights for each baseball field, and several baseball fields - the numbers of reflections/transparencies going on start to add up. I'm trying to make the scenery as lean as possible for the CPU, but don't want to sacrifice details if they are GPU-intensive or are have minimal impact. Does anyone know if these are big performance eaters? The cube map is 512x512 btw.

Hellow! I have a small problem! I made an airport, very detailed used def libraries and some libraries that i got in the net. They work fine while added them using ADE! I wanted to improove it once more, and found the instant object maker program, because it allows you to see the objects, many dont have thumbnails... I was experimenting wich files could be openned with it, and voil,a i openned the default sceneries of FSX, the ones that are in FSX/Scenery/AFRI,ASIA,AMER etc, and looked all the buildings and many interesting items that FSX have!!! I am attempting to add custom taxiway markings with ADE's custom ground polygon tool. I've followed the instructions for texture management, placed the texture in texture_def.txt, and inside the actual textures folder. The ground poly is not showing up, however, once I load up FSX. When examining my own texture and comparing it to the ones that come with ADE, I see there is a difference in formatting, even though both appear to be BMPs.
