Hi, out of nowhere IS3 won't "see" my scenery object libraries either residing in the Addon Scenery folder or elsewhere in FSX. My libraries, housed in a "Scenery Objects Master" folder are certainly active in FSX , as it displays all of the objects previously placed. When I open a placement file in IS3, I receive a message indicating the libraries are not active in FSX, yet I can see the objects, the bounding box, and can manipulate the placed objects in IS3. To date I have tried to uncheck the libraries and rebuild the scenery indices in FSX and I've also deleted the fileindex.dat and filelist.dat files in the scenery indexes folder. Hi,sorry me again Hopefully for the last time ,for now at least. The airport I'm playing around with is a stock airport and lives in scenery 0601 in a file called apx50120. Is it possible to open this file and remove just the stock airport temporarily,as I want to look at the global textures underneath. Currently the FTX global textures do not match in well at all,so with a bit of creative blending of the satelite image of the airport and area around it I can maybe match it all together better. Most of the airport will hide the worst areas but some of the fields and urban areas at the edges are way out and I plan on trying to use some sort of blendmask around these ar…

Hi I'm trying my hand at updating an airport,and although i have a rough idea on blending the airport into the exsisting surrounding scenery,however the bits of photo scenery outside the airport that i am still using dont match the colouring of the textures of ftx global Is there some tool or other that will help blend the colours to match a bit better Thanks

This has been brought up many times before, but I just want to run a quick poll. Is there still interest in KBWI for fs, and if so does anyone have any information? This is not me asking for developers to drop what there doing and start this. I understand that any scenery or project can require alot of time and effort. But I've sort of given up hope on the airport guys, not trying to discredit them, but they have already postponed the project and its been in progress for a very long time now so I don't see it being done in the near future. Is there a file/program which will identify the AFCADs for any particular airport ? I'm hoping to reduce the distortions created by installing .bgl upon .bgl , that is new scenery on top of old or default airports. Thanks, Jack

I have the same problem at 2 free-ware add-on scenery for FSX, MWCR and MYNN. From above, the scenery looks fine, but once you get to ground level (or zoom in using top-down view), it gets messed up. Also with MWCR at the ends of the runway it looks like the tire marks are floating a few feet above the surface (forgot to get a screenshot of this). I have UTX installed for USA, Europe, and Caribbean with all add-on scenery higher than UTX in FSX. Any way to fix this?

Looking for some tips on an airport upgrade I'm attempting. I'll give you the abridged version. I upgraded an airport in my p3d using ADE, added lights, asphalt, ILS. It was a stock airport and worked like a peach. I'm not attempting to upgrade and airport within an orbx region. When I open the airport in ADE it has no runway. I think it's using the terrain as the runway as it only has a super narrow strip in ADE. If I try to change it in ADE, my runway is way up in the air. So.... orbx is actually using an invisible runway and instead you land on the terrain. Ok. Now, the question is.... how do I add some lights. I just want to be able to see the joi…

I have created a few models in FSDS in the past but always used default texture. I decided to get braver and work out how to create transparency in scenery objects using my own created texture, starting with smallish vegetation of the ''top down view cross hair'' type, and using software that is either free or is not ripping us ossies off. The scenery is being made in FSDS with a 4 sided poly and texture added and then cloned and rotated to be reverse orientation to the original and the same done for the 3rd and 4th poly set at right angles to original. Ive overcome dark sides to the polys (see my other post) and then got rid of cloud draw issues (clouds were in front …

I have made a few scenery items over the years such as hangars but have always used default textures. Ive recently decided to make some vegetation scenery and just learnt how to make it transparent around the edges using my own original photos and working with FSDS and DXTBmp. The end result looks ok in FSX on the sunny side but on the side that the sun does not hit it is very dark. I notice the default scenery has the same illumination all over and is next to the vegn scenery I created. How is that achieved. I am clearly missing a crucial step somewhere.

Hello everybody, so I'm having a small problem with the scenery ( stock and add-on ), and it is as follows, while the plane is one the taxiway/runway/etc it is actually on grass and all the planes parking at the gates are inside of the buildings. So what I'm trying to say is, that all of the buildings, runways, etc. are shifted either left or right where there suppose to be..... Can anybody help, please.

I am a newbie to this part of FSX, and I want to modify my Blueprint Simulations airports with the trick where you add a small taxiway of either concrete or asphalt (the opposite of what the airport is currently).This is supposed to eliminate the awful shimmering problem.If I want to mod the add on airport, do I open Stock Airport in ADE, or should I select the "Open Airport from BGL", and use the bgl in the Blueprint folder, then compile that one?

Hey, So I've been having this weird issue and I don't know how to fix it. This is how it looks when close to the polygon: But when I move away: Do you see that "line" between the polygons? All, The AVSIM Library has an updated BGL File for KPIT on FSX, but I have a few requests if someone can do me a favor - I downloaded the airport design editor and the update from the library here, but have FSX - SE so I couldn't save the airport after I fixed it. But I think I did see what is wrong with it. In real life, 28L and 28R are the primary runways for all landings and takeoffs. (I think they use those unless the tailwind is above 5 knots). I believe that BGL file is setup to have 10L and 10R as the primary landing and takeoff runways. Also, 28 / 10 C is used only for takeoffs and only if the other runways are backed up (KPIT is not busy, so basically…

I wanted to replicate the landing on taxiway Tango last week and noticed there is no 16C for KSEA. I noticed flyaway sim has a file for this, but it only got 1 star rating. Is there any other scenery that'll move 16R and add 16C to KSEA. I need someone that does it automatically as I anm not too computer savvy.

I have been updating some P3d airports using Airport Design Editor (ADE)...I am running into the problem of having some bushes, trees, etc., showing up sticking through the new ramp areas...I am familiar with the Exclude Area function within ADE, but this does not seem to work for the thres, bushes etc...Can anyone advise me how to get rid of these bushes? I saw the post in the Bargain Hunter's section back in August of this year that let everyone know that Imaginesim had released their FS2004 KDTW and KMSY Payware Airports as Freeware. I downloaded both and was very happy with the look and feel of the airports. Imagine (pun intended) my chagrine when I realized today that with the release of AIRAC 1511 the runway numbers at KMSY changed and runway 6/24 is now taxiway D. I have successfully edited the runway sign textures for 11/29 and 2/20 (the old 10/28 and 1/19) to read correctly and for lack of any other ideas blanked out all the 6/24 runway signs. What I have not been able to figure out is how to change the r…

Sorry if this has been already found but I had been looking for a way to correct the default airspace control centers of my region. I found that it had to do with the bvcf.bgl file which need to be modified but there was very little information on this and nobody reported to have done it satisfactorily. I tried to do it myself using the bgl2xml tool and recompiling it with bglcomp in the sdk. Although the process went without errors the resulting file with little to no changes the size difference was huge. Testing with the modified bgl although I got the changes to my region reflected I found many other airspaces messed up with control centers from far away regions appear…
