    Hi, I just installed SBX after installing Prepar3d, and somethings arent working correctly. When I start SBX, it gives me prompts which say the following: -Check your Polys.txt file! -Check your Lands.txt file! -Check your Waters.txt file! -Check your Bridges.txt file! I'm currently unable to show the background in SBX. When I navigate View > Show background, the text for "Show background" is greyed out and I can't click it. Why is this? Okay so I have been using ADE for quite some time now to correct some of the runways that don't have the right runway numbers. but recently I have been thinking of making my own airport, or rather kind of remaking/updating one. But before I mess up the whole project, I was wondering what kind of the work stucture is when making an airport from scratch? Where do you usually start with? Are there any other programs I can use besides ADE? Is there a way to add runway slope to the airport? how do I make sure the airport and the surroundings are the correct heights? How do I get the right ground textures for the ground, taxiways, runways etc? …

  3. FGBT stock airport in FSX-SE is completely wrong, perched atop mountains along the Equatorial Guinea coast ...but the actual elevation is 13 ft. with nothing but flat land in all directions. I downloaded addon scenery which flattened the mountains and created a reasonable airport. AI aircraft approaching rwy 21 land successfully but on approach to rwy 03, the heading is 010 rather than 028 and the plane lands on to the east as if approaching rwy 01. What could be the cause? In ADE, I've examined all the data for the airport and the runways but can't find anything with a heading of 010. I presume that AI land on an installed runway. (Does Prepar3D handle Africa…

    Hi. Have Oryxsim Kelowna X for FS9. Worked fine before 3 days ago. Now when I load CYLW starts to load and gets to loading scenery objects and freezes at 0%. Have at # 1 priority in scenery cfg. No other afcads. If scenery deleted default CYLW works fine. No other scenerys were added. Any ideas would be helpful. Oryxsim was payware but support forum and website gone. Thank-You

  6. Hi all, I would like to add some C130s to an airport using Sim Director. I have searched all the libraries (over 17000) and have been unable to find this plane. I have had success identifying files from Orbx Worldwide airports, placing the related files into sets of scenery and texture folders in Add-on Scenery, adding them to the library, and aligning them above Megascenery in scenery library sequence. It eliminates the flattening that occurs at eye level from the cockpit at default airports. That's great for airports that Orbx has provided in their freeware offerings, like my home airport of KESN (Easton-Newnam, Maryland). There are other airports I would like to "rescue" so to speak, from the FSX default scenery, and reposition as separate scenery items in Addon Scenery so that they are not flattened by photoreal regions. …

  10. I thought I would have a dabble with the ADE. Nothing too big. Just adding some aprons with GA parking and taxiways to a small GA airfield which is currently just the runway in sim. (P3DV4) Everything seems to go ok until I try to put the compiled work into my scenery library. As soon as I do that it comes up with a non sequential layering error!     Fsx gold. gmax 1.2 I have been trying to attach lights to my animated models in g max. when I open the attach tool and tick "effect" gmax hangs and I have to use task manager to close it down. Funny thing it worked twice - bringing up the directory and asking me to choose effect , so I have attached a light to one animated model. Model convertor X allows static lights( I believe) but not animated. I am stuck at the mo as my static models have lights but unable to do my animated. Have tried repeatedly as I'm willing to restart multiple times in order to attach my lights but no go now. anyone else have this problem or is there a fiddle around?. ps, …

    Hello All, I have been searching the various scenery sites, starting here at AVSIM of course, for a static observation balloon that can be placed in a scenery as an object. A balloon like they used in World War One or like those used by the Border Patrol along the southern United States border. The only two candidates I have found are both for CFS2 and are not usable in FSX it seems. I have found a few dirigible and zeppelin flight models that are pilotable...some are quite good in fact, but no statics.     How is runway approach lighting (sequenced flashing lights / rabbit lighting) added to FSX runways? I haven't been able to determine a method of doing this with AFX or ADE. Is it even possible ?     I'm using AFX to alter, add and change parking places at certain airports. For gates there always appear the pushback tractors even when I select 'none' on the pushback type selection. How can I get rid of them. I have gates positioned to pull straight out instead of backing out but I have to run over the pushback equipment. Noel

  16. Hi, I'm new to this scenery designing. I finished my first airport which is my local aviation school by using ade. Although i made a good airport, something that bothers me is the traffic pattern. When taking off at runway 17, our school uses right downwind pattern, however in the simulator it instructs me to go left. Can anyone help me edit the pattern? Thank you in advance

  18. I downloaded a very cool looking RJAA scenery. Problem is the author did make Cargo Ramps as Parking only which means I am unable to modify GSX to work in those places. Author is not responding to emails (upload is less than a year old) so I went to ADE to change it myself BUT I guess airport uses some custom files as I have a lot of black boxes. How do I go around that? Do I need to place standard mesh in those places? **I do not know how to link to a page with that specific scenery. Always get some random stuff dunno how to get direct link.     Hello everyone, I just started playing around with ADE and I am currently trying to make an airport from scratch to understand how things work. I have now the most important things in order but I am trying to use the Madrid terminal as my airport terminal, and when I start FSX in my airport, the terminal doesn't show. I added the terminal from the objects library, adding the madrid.bgl file and then adding LEMD_NewTerminal to my airport, but even changing the display settings it just won't work.     Hello Is there no way to compile a photoscenery using SBX without having FSX installed ? I am using SBX 315. I only have P3D v4 installed. All the tools required for scenery complitation are there in the tools folder, but when I go to compile scenery, all the options are greyed out. Do I have to have FSX installed to use SBX ? Is there some alternative to SBX that can extract images which can be then used directly in ADE ? Cheers 9W

This problem relates to P3D v3.4 but is probably the same with FSX etc. Having just flown Concorde from Honolulu to Auckland I landed on 23L but my moving map software (EFB) doesn’t show the parallel runway (05L/23R) as both ends are closed for takeoff and landing. This is using the default AFCAD. So effectively it’s used as a taxiway. Using ADE how easy is it to change the runway to a taxiway so EFB can correctly show it? Currently it’s not shown at all so the map looks odd.

First off: FS2004 & Ultimate Terrain I'm trying to edit the UT (Night only) road textures and am having head-banging issues. For those famailiar to UT, there is a texture configurator that allows you to select type, i.e. Sodium, Mercury etc., and road brightness, i.e. Bright, Dim, Dark, and volume, i.e. Low, Mixed, etc. I am trying to edit only those found within the (Sodium), (Dark), and (Low) categories.   24. I have been working the past 2 months creating replacement airports for Long Island, NY. So far I've completed Bayport and Mattituck. I'd love to get these out there for anyone flying in the New York/Long Island scenery areas to use. I'm 85% complete with Brookhaven....BUT I can't find a damn thing on any airport diagram for the taxiways.     Hi everyone, I'd like to add some dynamic lighting to a P3D V3 scenery that I bought. I have talked to the author and he has said I am free to edit anything as long as I don't publish my work. I have ideas on how P3D utilizes the texture and model files, so I guess I'm not too much of a newbie. I have looked at 1 partial tutorial on a different forum but it's was too advanced for a beginner like me. Can someone please explain how I can add dynamic lighting to points in sceneries?
