Hello! The question first and describition later on; is there anyone out there interested in a project that involes the Fokker 50, with the main goal to create a high end simulation of the actual model, flight enviroment and performance, with high end textures and mainly created for Flight Simulator 2004?I might be new into creating aircrafts but I have been studying 3D on the university for quite some time (mostly 3D Studio Max), and even though I'm a very good 3D-artist, my highest skill is textuering. I've been looking for a good Fokker 50 model for a while now and even though the freeware options are pretty good, especially when it comes to the model, it lacks when it …

  3. plane_heading = PLANE_HEADING_DEGREES_MAGNETICvar.var_value.n;I'd like to round this value up.I'm finding that Heading value in the FSX default aircraft are being rounded up.So for example, in the default 737 the heading could read 250.But when I return plane heading as a string to see what it's doing, I'll get 249.So how do I round the value up?I tried using ROUND, but VS didn't like that too much.Cheers,

h,I edited adding at RFP panel part of the co-pilot panel. Now the Main panel window size is 1213,768 instead of 1024,768.Everything works great but the right wiper.I've installed the .XML Guy De Smet wipers and until now with the window Main panel size 1024,768 wipers were perfect but now with the new size when the right wiper enter the added windshield aerea the wiper disappears.I enlarged the windshield by windows7 PAINT using a windshield piece of a Main .bmp copy and using the men

Does anyone know what records to change in the AIR file, or what parameter to change in the aircraft.cfg file, to reduce the effect of forward airspeed on the rotation of the propeller? The FS2004 default Cessna 172 windmills quite a lot with the engine off. I'd like to reduce this if possible. Some other Cessna aircraft downloads do not rotate at all with the engine switched off in the air.I'd like some balance in the middle of these extremes. Also, if you apply full power holding it on the brakes on the runway and note the max RPM, then release brakes and accelerate down the runway, the default 172 propellor speeds up as you gain forward airspeed on the take off roll too.…

I'll be dipped in lard and fried for chicken!I became aware of something I honestly have thought couldn't be done, that is to have Mouse Areas in an XML gauge be <Visible> on demand!"Let me 'splain Lucy..."I've been coding and scripting a mixed set of C gauges and XML "gauges" for ABACUS's forthcoming revision of the B787. There are four massive LCD screens on the main panel:PFD Pilot - ND/EICAS - MFD - PFD CopilotNow for the wide-screen version it is possible to have the PFD Pilot - ND/EICAS and MFD on screen all the time on the 2d panel. The problem I have is that the normal width 2d isn't wide enough, and part of the MFD would be "off screen."Well, I thought, wo…

i would like to use the radio to tune the program enviro.enviro uses hot keys to change the "bank" of recordings it plays.i would like to be able to execute that keystroke without the keyboard, ideally using XMLI have never seen it, but it seems like it should be possible to do. perhaps someone has a C gauge that mediates between the instruction and xml, or perhaps some magic trickery via FSUIPC?

Does anyone know how to solve a problem where the main gear on an aircraft is very stiff on touchdown? Using the Caranado Arrow IV I'm finding upon touchdown (landing) the main gear is so stiff there's a major bounce even on the smoothest of landings. As soon as the wheels touch the runway no matter how light the plane bounces violently down the runway until it slows down. This is one of those cases where we have a plane that was built for both FSX and FS9 and quality control took an early lunch (I'm writing Caranado about the various issues I found but who's to say when a patch will be produced if ever). My sim of choice is FS9 and from the looks of it many things fr…

Hello again EverybodyNot quite sure if it is the right forum, but I will asume 'yes'.I am looking for a good gaming chair for my setup. My desk is overcrowded by Saitek's Yoke, X52 and peddals (actually under the desk). Can You recommend any gaming chair for FS? It have to has the pads for X52 and its throttle, a space for a yoke and a mounting points for Rudder Peddals. Also, my GF Airliner Conf has to fit somwhere close (both left and right side, depends what AC/heli I choose). It will be good to have it delivered from Europe Union (no tax).I have found this: http://www.simw.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=d...d=2&smid=96but it will be great to have a comparision with other…

Hey guys,If you ever wished you could do this:http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k282/Ben...parentViews.jpgyou can!! Note that ALL the 3-views are transparent, meaning you only see the drawing. You can see this most clearly when you look at the cross-section drawings. Yes, those are drawings, and not Max curves. While I have flipped the normals on the "box", if you choose to, you can not do so, and even have the transparent 3-view overlay your ortho views so you can see the drawing without making it see-through.It is very easy to do.First, you create a "negative" of your 3-view, meaning the lines are white, and everything transparent will be black. Then, you create a ma…

Guys, it pains me to even have to write this message, but it simply must be done... ...without pointing any fingers or naming anyone in particular, and assuming in advance simple innocence... Using anyone's artwork without explicit permission is simply wrong. When designing something, it is perfectly acceptable to use any source you can find for sample textures or ideas, but before releasing your work you simply must replace anything "borrowed" with your own artwork. To do otherwise is legally, ethically and morally wrong... Over the past few months I've noticed portions of copyrighted artwork belonging to Bobby Hayes, Eaglesoft's artist, being used in several freewar…

Well, after suffering along with my three year old "development computer" and watching it becoming slower and crankier, and lately having to "cold boot" it up to six times everyday just to get some work done......I finally broke my piggy bank and bought an inexpensive eMachine (aka: Gateway made in China) as a replacement. It's by no means any sort of hotrod, but it's considerably faster than the lamo P4 2.8 GHz machine it's replacing!eMachines ET1161-05, AMD Athlon 64 LE-1620 2.4 GHz, 2GB DDR2, 160GB, DVDRW Flash Reader, with Vista Home Basic.I slapped in my trust ATI X700 I had lying around so I can run dual-monitors. While rearranging my desk, I swapped my 22" 4:3 LCD…

Hey Gents,Does anyone know if there is a parameter in the contact points (for FSX) to increase/decrease the amount of resistance where the contact point touches a given surface? For instance, I'd like to be able to reduce the resistance of the water contact points on a floatplane to make it so less power is required to taxi.

I'm wondering if it's possible in Gmax (FSX) to configure an emissive (non-gauge) material with self-illumination so that it simply doesn't shade? While emissive, every blending mode I've tried results in some form of shading, becoming brighter or darker based on VC attitude relative to the sun. I know it's possible with gauge materials, but I would like to apply it to non-gauge materials as well.In FS9 I did this by editing the material properties of the .X file before compiling externally with BGLC_9. But I'll be damned if I see a way to do it through the Gmax material properties?Thanks,--Jon

Hi guys,I am a newbie in the whole panel design arena and I was trying out in modifying the minipanel ASI within FS9 by removing the airspeed.xml file to modify its non-linearity codes to encompass more points. I saved the file and cab in back with all the other minipanel files using Cab Maker but the minipanel wouldn't appear in FS9. I tried to check the problems but I can't seem to find out why. Any suggestions?Regards,n707jt
