I am designing a EIS (Engine Information System) for my ultralight (after those by Grand Rapids Tech). I want this unit to have master warning light. This light needs to come on when the EIS detects an alarm condition. I want the light to be a seperate gauge so that it can be placed anywhere on the panel for maximum visibility. Most of the examples in the Beech and 747 XML warning and annunciator gauges have left me confused. Most warning lights are independent gauges. Each gauge monitors a simulation value and lights up if it exceeds some parameter. The master warning light is also an independent gauge. However, it has a "many to one" relationship with the the flight displa…

Hallo, I tried to construct a light that warns, when you are leaving altitude.Of course i failed, but the whole weekend was rainy. The light must go on when you are 200 feet + or - of the altitude set -in the autopilot altitude window. My gauges give red and orange lights when i'm above or under that alt. Thanks for the advices,PH-JVH

    Greetings,I am having a problem getting an autofeather switch to operate correctly. Here is the code for the gauge. <Gauge Name="Autofeather" Version="1.0"> <Element> <Select> <Value>(A:PANEL AUTO FEATHER SWITCH,bool)</Value> <Case Value="0"> <Image Name="switch_off.bmp" ImageSizes="27,39"/> </Case> <Case Value="1"> <Image Name="switch_on.bmp" ImageSizes="27,39" /> </Case> </Select> </Element> <Mouse> <Help ID="HELPID_KINGAIR_AUTOFEATHER_SWITCH"/> <Cursor Type="Hand"/> <Click Event="TOGGLE_ARM_AUTOFEATHER"/> </Mouse></Gauge> …

I havet tried to make a simple altimeter. It works if I just copy all the code from somewhere. Now i have difficulties with nonlinearity.I have nonlinearity table(A:Indicated Altitude, meters) 100 /But when I start gauge the needle is pointing upwards. And it should be pointing down. How exactly those coordinates have to be? I mean that I measure them from PSP and then put in table. Do they have to be exactly that point where the needle points?Or is it possible to make nonlinearity table with degrees?Hope you understand.

Working with the following gauge - I'd like to add the key event (K:MAGNETO4_LEFT) so that I can play a sound file using Bill M's xmlsound gauge. Is this possible in the following gauge, or do I have to take it to bits (:-zhelp) and start using G:vars?I have two types of gauges I would like to work with.First example: -(A:ELEVATOR TRIM Position, degrees) 17 > (A:ELEVATOR TRIM Position, degrees) -17 < Second example: -(A:CG PERCENT, percent) (A:CG FWD LIMIT, percent) < I have a feeling someone's going to tell me this cannot be achieved with this gauge layout - after spending most of the weekend creating around 30 of these! :-lolThanks for any help/suggestions!Rega…

I think someone here asked how to create a warning light that flashes. Well, I've discovered how to do this.Frustrated with my XML failures, I closed FS and restarted it some hours later when I had a moment to work on the EIS master warning light again. To my surprise, the warning light was FLASHING steadily on and off! Reloading FS must have engaged something.Anyway, here is the code that causes the warning light to flash: <Element><Text Bright="Yes" X="60" Y="12" Length="10" Fixed="Yes" Font="Quartz" BackgroundColor="Black" Color="Red" Adjust="Center" VerticalAdjust="Center"> <String>%((A:indicated altitude, feet) 250 <= if{ (L:EIS Alarm, bool) !…

HiI have this kind of advanced EHSI (Sandel SN3308 'wannabe') that displays the tuned in navaid ident as a textual string. Must the 'ident' function on the radio be switched on before the EHSI can 'decode' this information, or is the signal always present and the radio only 'routes' the signal to the audio panel? Any differences on what type of navaid is tuned in (VOR, LLZ, ADF, DME etc)? Can anyone explain this?EHSI, radios, and audio panel are all in xml, so I have "access" to making this as correct as possible.

It has been brought to my attention recently that there is a new program in development called"Aircraft Container Manager" with some nice features and some bad. From the ACM web site: ACM Features:ACM is a tool that allows you to organize aircraft in MS Flight Simulator 2002.Features (amongst others) are:- organizing the aircraft folders- change data in .cfg files- export 3D-models in Wavefont .obj format- view and export aircraft texturesAs you can see this program claims to be able to export both Textures and 3D-models. I have tried the beta that is available and it can indeed read the model files of most FS models. If as it claims it can export them as well as it can di…

Is there a good tutorial for creating XML-gauges? In MS SDK there is not much about XML-gauges. Or should I start to use C as gauge language. There is many good tutorials about C-gauges.Does anyone use XML-editor for editing XML-gauges? I have tried XMLWriter but it doesn't understand MS schemas which came with MS SDK.

I woke up this morning and I was thinking about how my VA flies quite a large fleet of aircraft, most of which I have high quality models or access to high quality models of. What I was thinking was, since I have 3 payware products that contain a fully working FMC, (PSS Airbus, DF 737, and 767PIC) could it be possible to transplant just the FMC into another aircraft, say, the CRJ-200? If not, I think it would be a really great great thing, to have a FMC that you can add to any plane. Like, you can have an installation program with either all or nearly all the aircraft that would carry an FMC, and you would select which aircraft youre installing it to (so that it has corre…

Would anyone good with flight dynamics be willing to work on my latest project? The model is basically complete with just some minor detail painting left to do. It sits ok on the ground and once in the air, flys well, however, it bounces on take-off roll and landing. Would also like to have fuel comsumption checked out. If you have the time to work on it, contact me at [email protected] and I'll get you the files. Thanks,

I'm reworking the MWS and have arrived at the CG warning light - when the Center of Gravity is out of the limits this gauge will illuminate. The CG gauge included in the Concorde gauge has an example of what I am after. When out of limits, a red warning light will illuminate. I have the following code - but it was really just a stab in the dark. Can anyone offer any suggestions? (A:Circuit general panel on, bool) 1 == (A:CG FWD LIMIT, percent) %d <(A:CG PERCENT, percent) %d >(A:CG AFT LIMIT, percent) %d & & &Again, any help is appreciated. I only had to change the gear positions and the compression. I am going to ask him if I can use his file.Later.Udo.:-wave

Hello gang,Im having some trouble, Im wondering if there's an easy way to set contact points and scrape points.I have a gmax design thats a very small homebuilt pusher plane. I cant seem to get the dang thing to set on the ground. Here's what Im doing...I took one of the few pusher's I could find and used it as a template, the problem being, its like 10 times the size of my plane, so everything is way off.Is this a bad way to go about this? The sdk has been some help, but I guess im looking for a shortcut or easier way than changing the value, starting the sim, change the value, start the sim...and on and on and on.Can gmax be of some help in setting the values?Any help yo…

Hi all again,My airplane has three tanks of fuel (left, central and right) and for my panel I want to make three independent switches that control if one of those tanks is activated or not. Each switch can have only two positions, on or off, so that if it is on, that tank will give combustible and not if it is off, but working independently of the other two tanks. I have attempted it with (A:Fuel tank selector 1,enum), but this is a enumerated variable I don't know how to program the two only positions that it should admit each switch. Thanks for your ideas,RafaelAHS5466

Is there a way to program a gauge, so that when an area is clicked, the image could flash for a few seconds? I don't recall seeing any flash commands in any of the XML gauges I have viewed - is this possible? Also are there any A:vars which cover the wing anti ice systems? I could only find (STRUCTURAL DEICE SWITCH). Many thanks in advanced.Andrew

I have been learning some very neat tricks for PSP7 on the net lately. I can create some fabulous looking parts. Problem is, when I take that bitmap into FS2002 models, they seem grainey. I cannot seem to get that smooth looking colour or shadow transitions that I see on so many models. Anyone have any advice? Thanks
