  1. Howdy,Redesigning the Grumman Goose panel, and am looking for a (windshield) wiper gauge that works in FS2K2. Had downloaded the (FS98?) FPDA_A320_wiper.gau and installed that, but there were all manner of problems associated with it (namely FS causing a Kernall32.dll error as well as the creation of a number of "phantom" wiper.gau in me Gauges directory).Anyone able to point me in the direction of such a gauge for this project?TIA.

Hello, I am looking for a person or company that is free that paints FS aircraft. I have colours but not sure how to paint an aircraft and I was wondering are there groups that paint aircraft for virtual airlines. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. you can e-mail me at [email protected]

Guys, we have it!Thanks to Chris Koegler, it is now possible for anyone using the GDI or GDI+ to display vectors in the VC that are updated like any other gauge (previously some people were able to make them show, but it would never update). The procedure is described below in Chris' post here http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho...10989&mode=full, which to my amazement had only two replies, where it should have hundreds, for even though FS2004 is around the corner, and we all know vectors are no problem there, I am sure several people will be able to benefit from this knowledge in FS2002. I know I am!!!Notice in the attached screenshot how I was able to display…

Question for the group. For some odd reason, I am now seeing a purple hazy sort of grid-like thing on my 2-D panels for all of my planes. I don't know what is causing it, but it is quite annoying. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to get rid of this. Thanks.

Using Chris Koegler's method to put Vectors into my VC (thanks Chris!!) works great! But only when reflective textures is turned off under Settings>Display>Aircraft. With reflections on, my gauges are showing up as 100% reflective, and are unreadable.Any ideas on how to remedy this? I've tried different things in GMAX, including leaving the Specular texture slot empty. No joy...Any help would be greatly appreciated!Luhiss

HiI want to know if the XML gauge functions e.g. "rotate", "non linearity", "shift" etc. is documented? I read the SDK, sd2gau14.zip and the older C++ tut for FS2000, but don't find the functions and their use explained. Did I miss it somewhere or can someone give me a hand? Thanks

Okay, all. How is everyone? I have a quick question to ask -- are any designers out there going to make a model for the new Boeing 7E7 that everyone has been raving about? I am talking about the Dreamliner that is supposed to be in production in 2008. I absolutely love the design concept for that plane.I searched the Boeing site for specs or proposed specs, but other than the fact that this bird is going to be extremely fuel efficient, roomy and carry about 250 passengers, nothing has been released. However, if someone would make a visual model, I propose that 777 dynamics with a bit more engine efficiency and power would be a great preview as to how this bird would fly…

Hey everyone. Still no success on the disappearing and appearing double sets of parts. Still trying. I have a new question though. The elevator control surfaces on an MD11's elevator are actually two separate parts. Inner and Outer? My question is which surface begins to move first? Would that be the larger inner surface or the smaller outer surface? I am trying to assign them the "stick fore/aft" key so i can use keyframes and hopefully have one move into its working position say from 50 to 75 and 25 and then have the other one activate and move to that same position from 50 at 0 and 100. Did I just make sense with this? 50 being neutral. Any information would certainly …

Here is a copy of the error report. It seems to be that the only problems that I need to work around are the colocated vertices & colinear vertices within triangles. Can someone please help me? I am trying to get the cowling to pop open and reveal the sleek turbine turbo-prop powerplant, and called the cowlings l_wingfold and r_wingfold. But when I hit wingfold (shift-F) as well as shift-other buttons, my cowlings dont seem to rise.Is there a code to put in the air.file?I would be very grateful for any information concerning this problem. And thanks again for everyones help in the past. My plane is almost done.Take care all,Bill

  13. Hello simmers, I recently made a (XML) gauge for the calculation of the nessescary sinc rate for reaching a certain altitude in a certain distance, which I haven't uploaded to any website yet. I'm not sure if anyone needs such a gauge nor am I sure if the implemented features are ok or if some more need to be added. At the moments it calculates the sink (or climb) rate based on the actual speed. All you have to enter is the desired distance and the target altitude and then to press a calculate button. The gauge then displays the neccessary sink rate in feets per minute and the time to reach the target altitude in minutes. I placed the gauge in an own aditional window like …

Hey again gang,My propellor has suddenly been making parts (behind the fan from certain angles) disappear! What could be causing this? I dont believe I have made the skin a reflective texture, nor done anything to the prop texture. I do have a virtual cockpit and began noticing through creation of test planes to check my advances, that certain things were suddenly visible through the prop fan only. Does anyone know of this problem and know of a fix? I am curious. I really wish to release this baby at www.avsim.com and www.simviation.com for download. It is a futuristic turboprop of a Pilatus, code named Visage.Your help would be gratefully appreciated.Bill

  18. Hi folks! I'm having some issues setting up Visual C++ 6.0 for FS2002 gauges. I've tried to compile the sample FS2002 SDK gauge set but it's giving me a bunch of syntax errors and it tells me that it can't compile "gps_info.h". Can anyone give me any troubleshooting tips or common mistakes? While we're on this topic, can one use Visual C++ .NET for writing and compiling FS gauges? Thanks!:) Melvinhttp://www.meljet.com/images/MelJet-logo-01.jpgwww.meljet.com

Hey gang, I need a pratt and whitney turbo prop turbine for my FSDS plane I am making. I could even use pictures, but I need something to be seen for when the cowling raises. I can actually construct an engine in FSDS in quick speed if someone had some photos I could go from.Kind regards,Bill

Hello,I've been trying to figure this out for a while.Whats the difference between a token variable and a Parameter? There are two files in the Panel SDK (parameter.doc & tokenvar.doc) I have been using the parameters.doc variable names in my xml code. However, On this board I see many references to using token variables. Please explain the purpose of the two variable lists and advise if one should be used over the other. Thanks,John

Does anyone know how to simulate failures like gear or flap asymetry?I mean I'd like to have for example the nose and left gear to come out, and left gear to stay up. Or when you extend the flaps, having only flap extension on a wing and not on the other.I couldn't find any way to do this, even using the FSUIPC offsets.Any idea?Eric
