flyin beats workin for a livin

I have test-flown the marvelous Mallard and I'm quite impressed with it's panel, it's flying characteristics, water effects, and above all, visual model. I now look forward to the G73T with greater anticipation! However, I had one small gripe about its handling. I use a keyboard to play the game, and I noticed that it does not turn on the ground unless one uses differential brakes (which is fine; I can handle that). But, when in the water, the aircraft barely turns at all, no matter how much rudder or aileron I use. I downloaded the Grumman Albatross from simviation.com, and it turns pretty easily in the water. For anyone interested their is a great Grumman Goose panel by Steve Hess that he made for FU3. It is a great representation of the actual panel. Maybe he would be willing to donate hos BMP files for use as a panel template for adding FS2002 gauges. Unfortunately I no longer have FS3 or the RESViewer utility installed but I'm sure if someone would e-mail Steve he would contribute his BMP files. So I was just wondering if anyone has any information on when this program might headed our way? I know that Chris says that they have jobs too, and I can fully understand this. I've been doing this for so long, I don't think I've ever bothered to pass it on, so here goes...I often "task switch" on longer flights, getting caught up on the forums, email or whatever. I have the pause on task switch option disabled in FS, so it runs away in the background. Upon return to FS, it's a blurry mess--expected considering it's churning away in the background while I'm tying up the cpu with Avsim's forums.... :)Anyway, I have the "5" key on my numeric keypad assigned for the "look down" view. After reading bear's reviews yesterday i downloaded the commander 114tc. he ranted and raved about how excellent the aircraft was and pretty much gave it a "thumbs up."i downloaded the aircraft and yes there was some great eye candy there. the aircraft itself was well done including the panel. however, the aircraft lacked the most important element--functionality. the flight dynamics caused the aircraft to fly like a kite. no matter how great an aircraft looks without functionality it doesn't stay in my hanger and i suspect it won't stay in most of yours either.you may be thinking--why is he being critical of a freeware design. well, i too, design freeware aircraft and…

My new quest is a round the world GA trek. The only things I have in mind is that I'm departing N99 (Brandywine), and am going to land on runways at every base to which my dad dragged us when I was a kid, every base which has a runway where I was stationed myself, and the two cities where my wife grew up (Havana and Sofia). So I've spent a long time (nearly two months) flying the Archer around the American Southwest, enjoying the mountains and canyons. I use FSMeteo for real weather. When you fly over the desert, the sky is clear most of the time. I yearned for a few clouds here and there to spice things up. I'm getting a g3d.dll fatal error on FS2002pro with the new Honolulu scenery and its happening when I'm a ways down rwy 8L....it happened when I was landing and then I rebooted up Fs2002 and it happened again, same place but during a playback of the landing. The system freezes then gives me the error. Is anyone from LAGO, and know of the problem. Any help appriciated!!!Matt

I only have money to buy one sim. I have been thinking of the 737-400 Greatest Airline sim or the Pro Air Bus 320. I would like your opinion as to which one you think is the better add on sim.I would prefer a sim that is somewhat realistic with different available liveries, but at the same time with a reasonable time for a learning curve. I do not want to spend weeks learning to fly the aircraft, and constantly having to fly the aircraft in order just to be able to stay proficient at a minimum level.I welcome your suggestions and opinions.Thank you.Stanner

Hey all. I got a problem with flight sim and was wondering if anyone might know how to fix it:Anytime I am running Flight Sim, the screen jumps every 5 to 10 seconds. Like if I am panning around in the exterior view it will be smooth and then all of a sudden just skip or jump ahead. I cant figure out what is wrong. My system is as follows: AMD Athlon 500 MHz 512 mb RAM ATI Radeon 8500 128mb DDR RAM Soundblaster Live Windows 2000 Pro OSIf anyone knows how to take care of this problem I would really appreciate it. When using the Air France Concorde in fs2002,upon engaging autothrottle, set speed is not maintained rather the throttles are throttled back ultimately leading to a stall. I don't seem to be experiencing this with other planes.Any suggestions? I was unable to come up with anything in the archives.Rick

G'day,I notice that it is possible to extract information through FSUIPC of the positions of AI aircraft. Does this mean that it is also possible to send information to these aircraft? i recently bought Airbus A320-200 for flight simulator2002. I want to know wether i have to program in all the infoevery time i wan to fly. All i want is to know where i am going and keep the altiude and speed the same thats it i don't want to be programing in for an hour where i am going for a short eueopean flight. I also tried to fly one today but every time i went to put the throttle full blast it turned around 360 degrees which is useless.
