Tried to install activesky and got error message with msstdfmt.dll.The instructions include this line,"Windows 98/NT/Me/2000 Users:- IF you receive an error about "MSSTDFMT.DLL" missing, then run the INSTDLL batch file. Or you can manually install and register the .DLL file (see the batch file). Only do this if you have the error."The trouble is, there is no instdll batch file included.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Ed

Hmm,if I set trackIR to pause I can clarly see the head latency in the VC. If trackIR is enabled I feel there is no movement at all.So either the two are not working together, or I subconciously eliminate the active camera movement with a corresponding head movement. Interesting idea. What are your observations?If I have the4 internal pilot view activated and go to the VC the red text in the upper right corner is permanent and will not go away. That sucks, especially with the flat clouds. Any fix? Or even better, is there a possibility to completely disable the text? It is totally useless anyway as I usually know which view is selected.Any help?Alex

Hi,I have build my own rudder pedals with toebrakes. And they work pretty well.I also have a MS sidewinder Precision 2 joystick which has 3 axis.I would like to use the third axis (z)of the joystick as the axis for the direction wheels of an aircraft. But I want it to be independant from the rudder. (In heavy jet, wheel direction and rudder are independant: pilot have a special joystick for taxiing aircrafts on ground)However I can't manage to have both of them work independantly.How can I do?GreetingsMinos

Flying yesterday from Rome to Dublin. Lovely day, got some good screen shots over the Alps. About an hour out from Dublin I started to prepare for the approach, got the charts out, made a note of the frequencies, headings and heights and tuned the ATIS. I was well established on the descent before the ATIS was audible at 70 miles out. In the real world ATIS is normally available about 150 miles out.Which got me thinking that it would be nice to have VOLMET. I am considering replacing my AMD Athlon 1.4 Ghz with the XP 2000 processor hoping to improve my fps in FS2002. However whilst going from a 1400 to a 2000 processor sounds good in reality the increase is from 1.4 Ghz to 1.67 Ghz therefore would I see much improvement in fps. I currently normally get 18-20 fps (locked at 20) except at complex addon airports when it drops to a jerky 6-8 fps.I have read many other posts about upgrading CPU and video cards and it would seem the processor is the way to improve fps but I would consider upgrading the video card instead (unfortunately not both at this time). First, let me state that I have no ties to the company that makes TrackIR. For me TrackIR has been the greatest evolution in FS, bar none. Yet, I get the feeling I'm one of maybe just a dozen people here that use it. I'm curious why? At the active runway or at the gate and taxi to the active? I ask this because I have had a problem I just can't resolve. I begin most of my flights at the terminal and request progressive taxi to the active. It starts out smooth enough with FPS in the 25-30 range but within a minute of taxiing the sim will start to stutter worse and worse until it locks up. If I do make it to the active runway the entire take off roll is like a slide show. The second I rotate and break contact with the ground the sim becomes absolutely fluid and smooth with great frame rates. Hi,For those that do not have downloaded the reality xp 737 ADI demo, I just want to say: get it now! I'm truly impressed to the level of realism these guys are doing. This is simply the smoothest ADI I've ever seen for flight simulator, and having flown aboard a level D simulator, I can tell it just look the same. I sincerely can't tell the difference. Honestly, I'd think twice now before getting a new payware add-on if its glass cockpit is not up to this. Rest assured the Meridian is my next aircraft!

I just got through flying a few circuits at KSAN and I can't say enough about this combo. This is the most stable plane on approach of any in my hanger, including PIC and the DF737. It just flies like an absolute dream tracking the runway with a sense of weight and intertia hard to find in most jetliners.Now, if Mr. Probst would only "finish" the package with a pilots view like Paul Golding's 707 panel (I know there is a landing view - I like having the artificial horizon dead center at all times)...Don't get me wrong, I don't want to sound critical. I just added "Southwest" to ATC and I am experiencing program hangups when running FS2K2. Has anyone else experienced this problem and have you found a solution? At first I thought the problem was related to only Southwest aircraft, but not so. I even tried letting FS2K2 recreate a new FS2002.cfg file, but that did not solve the problem. Up until the hangups, the Southwest ATC appears to work OK. Any help or suggestions appreciated.Airbus

Is anyone using this card for FS2k2. I see that it is selling for $150.00. Thinking about replacing my Visiontek GTS 32mb. FS2k2 runs fine with my present card, but I might try something new. No way I will pay $300.00-$400.00 for a card, just to run FS2k2. I might pay $150.00 though. Any thoughts? Thanks

Does anyone know how to change the EPR setting for takeoff when using TO/GA mode. When I use it I can only get around 1.31 when it should be around anywhere from 1.4 to 1.6. Is there something in the aircraft.cfg file that can be changed or is it hard coded? Thanks,

If for no other reason, this application is great just for using the head latency feature.Is it possible to always have this feature active while in FS, or is it necesssary to reactiviate it with every session?Also, what does the "travelling" switch do?Thank you again for this addon.Howard
