Is icing still possible in FS2K2? It occurs to me that I haven't had any ice in a very long time (perhaps because it's been summer??). I know it used to be possible to get carb ice but I don't recall if structural ice is possible. Can anyone clear this up before icing season returns for real? ;-)David

OK simmers..... This new 727 from Captain Sim (I read about it on AVSIM'S front page) is UNLIKE ANYTHING I'VE EVER SEEN BEFORE! It is totally "photographic" and should bring a whole new realism to this hobby. The "chick" in the right seat is easy on the eyes and SHE'S NOT A COMPUTER GENERATED CARTOON! I certainly hope they do their homework on flight dynamics because the plane looks sweeeeeeeeeeet too! Just can't wait............ Stan http://www.captainsim.com/727/

I have just uploaded a package of three distinct data and seat-map files for the DC-3 to be used with Scott Campbell's AC Loader and Revenue Generator program. His program is freeware and available right here at AVSIM at:http://avsim.com/flightdeck/acloader.htmlThese three files consist of two different passenger configurations, one with fourteen seats as used with DC-3 Airways and another with 28 seats. the third file is for a cargo version.Just uploaded them so be patient. They should be up after while.Cheers!HeatherNOTE: I just made some last minute changes in the data files regarding fuel consumption during a climb or descent and uploaded them. Please be sure to downlo…

Howdy,Just thought I should let it be known that version 1.1 of Active Camera Pro wants to rebuild your scenery index/database ad nauseum if installing any new scenery containing .afd bgl files. Been tearing my hair out all day (and I ain't got much to start with :-lol) trying to figure out why every time I loaded up MSFS, after installing this new scenery, at the splash screen, FS builds a new database and index as well as creating a 1.16Mb file in the FS root folder variously numbered (eg: 4143, 72B3, et cetera) containing code, SCASM code, and a listing of _every_ airfield contained in the database. After a complete reinstall of FS, as well as the particular scenery, a…

Does anybody have the FS2002.cfg entry fix for this "Soundlib-Error" problem? I get the problem with the GMAX Aeroflot TU-154 by Joe Teply, panel by Dmitry Kolesnik. It might be the sound file for the panel..Love the plane, hate the sound error. I had the fix installed for this particular error for another aircraft then had to format :-roll and unfortuneately never wrote it down. Thanks in advance for any help. I do already have the FSSound.dll=1 entry if that's what you're are thinking of. That doesn't solve the problem.Mike

Just wanted to post a big public THANK YOU for that beautiful Caravelle of yours! :D Toss in Benoit Gaurant's panel and a set of Spey sounds (anyone know of some Avon sounds, which might be more appropriate?) PLUS the improved reflective textures, and you got a killer package!BTW, Mike, I did some CFG file editing and added a smoke system...looks best with the smoke effect for the Project Freeware BAC 1-11, IMO.Cheers,

I am not sure what is wrong but the latest version of Active Camera pro 1.1 (corrected version) has gone completely crazy! I think 1.1 there are 2 versions. 1.1 and a corrected version. I am talking of the latest version. Once I play around with the external pilot view and have a walk around and at one point it refused to stop and continued walking. Then I tried to switch off the external pilot view and allow only the internal pilot view and the program refused to do that either and I was unable get into the virtual cockpit.Shri.

Hi All,Just re-installed FS2K2 and was searching for the FS2002.cfg terain tweaks but the search engine is only going back to Sept. 19/02. I'm looking specifically for the [Terain] tweaks regarding blurred textures. They worked well on my system and any help finding them is appreciated.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 Mechanic

In the Active Camara pro utility they recommend a 'three button mouse'. What is meant by a three button mouse? Is it a newer version of mouse technology than what we are used to having? Can anyone enlighten me on this as i feel I am in the dark? Thanks Shri

Hi all,If this message should be placed in a different section of this forum, I apologize, but I am in the need of some help regarding my video card drivers. I have a NVidia GeForce 3 ti500 and always ran with the 23.11's, and never had a problem. Leave it to me to install the latest drivers last night (the 40.72's) and my FPS dropped considerably. I know that different drivers work differently on different machines, but would somebody be able to tell me what drivers are working best for this particular card? Thanks so much, I appreciate it!Bobber

Hello allIt's probably been covered many times before but can anyone recommend a utility/add-on to improve/enhance the FS2002 weather environment?Doesn't have to have the capacity to download 'real weather' - I'm mainly interested in having nice clouds, fog/low visibility, turbulence, different arrival point weather to departure (changing en route), etc.CheersJosh

Has anyone done Buffett's Hemisphere Dancer textures for the USAF HU-16 Albatross here in the library? I've done the biggest task of finding and editing the logo on the tail from a weird angled photo. All thats left is the striping down the side, the paint on the top of the tail and the registration.

Just before landing my Project Opensky 777 on to the runway, I think I must have missed the altimiter setting giving to me by tower. Well You can imagine what happened then..Yep! my front gear buried itself into the runway. Although not a crash, I saw myself breaking down the runway on my nose.... Anyways, when I came to a complete stop and then tried to power up again, the wings did something really kool that I have never seen in mid flight before...they began flapping like birds, just as they would in real life when flying thru turbulence...So. I'm thinking, if they can do that on the ground, why haven't I seen this in mid flight...Maybe this is something the POSKY guys …

Was out today practicing some ILS landings at Osaka Bay's Kansai airport with my POSKY 767 and noticed the coolest thing I think I have found yet from any aircraft I have used. Was watching a replay of a landing on a particularly hard touchdown and I noticed the wings wobbling. Strange. Ran another approach which was MUCH smoother and did a replay making special note of the wings. I was dumbfounded when I noticed that the wings "unloaded" themselves after touchdown (after the weight of the plane was off them). Check out these screenshots. As you can see plain as day when the plane is coming in just before touchdown the wingtips are noticably bent up, and after touch…

Hi! I'm fairly new to the forums, but I've been told that someone will be able to help me with my problem!Anyway, everytime I enter cloud in FS2002, the sound goes all choppy, however the sim is perfectly smooth. Also, the mouse does seem to stutter, as if it's in phase with the stuttering of the sound. How do I get rid of the stuttering as it's quite annoying and also affects the quality of the ATC transmissions in roger wilco whilst flying online. Thanks in advance, Rob.

Hi Folks,My sim has suddenly stated to act up whenever I am in slew mode. It jerks forward in slow stages, ok going sideways, then whenever I exit slew mode the aircraft shoots off like a scalded cat. All this when on the ground and repositioning to the terminals.Any ideas?

Thanks Mike for another beautiful plane. The question--I can't figure out how to set NAV or COM radio frequencies. I know there's another panel out there, but I really do like the panel you supplied.I want to fly the Caravelle for a specific reason--back in 1967 or 1968, I had my first trip on a commercial jet--a Caravelle flown by United Airlines (I think they had only a few). The trip was from Boston to Chicago where I was to present a paper at a scientific conference--for that reason and because of first jet trip, I was really nervous. I was then a grad student, young and single. Anyway, as the plane was boarding and nearly full (I had gotten my seat), I noticed an…
