Hi,I just built my first rig and I cannot get FS2002 to run more than 10 minutes without freezing, locking up, or just closing automatically.Here are the specs:-Asus A7V8X mobo-Athlon XP 2200+-Corsair 512MB DDR3200 RAM-Gainward GeForce 4 4200Ti with 30.82 drivers from Nvidia-Western Digital 80GB HD-420W power supply-DirectX 8-Windows XP home-Newest 4.42 4-in-1 drivers-New BIOS (1006)SP 1 is not installed.I usually can get into FS, fly for about 10 minutes, and then I'll get a wierd checkered-color pattern. As if the learning curve of FS2002 hasn't been steep enough for me over the last 6 months !! I have been searching the current conversations trying to find a fix to this problem, but have been unable to find it. Forgive me if has been already addresses. Anyhow, I recently installed the new NVidia 40.72 drivers. I have AF set at 8x and Quincunx AA. Am also using WinXP SP1, AMD 1800+, and 512MB RAM. The problem I am getting is a black box around many textures such as lights and buildings. Has anyone experienced this problem and knows how to fix it? Thanks.Nathan

I placed my aircraft at KDAB and was watching AI aircraft taxi at night. There NAV/Beacon lights were lit but they displayed no taxi/landing lights. I found that strange since the same aircraft are used at KMCO and KORL and the taxi/landing light are visible at night.I taxied to the active and my aircraft taxi/landing lights worked. As I waited in line for takeoff, I watched a B1900D land, its landing lights were on until it passed over the start of runway lights. Another weird occurance happened with the aircraft in front of me. When it made the 90deg turn on the taxiway to the runway hold short, its taxi/landing lights came on. Hi,I just installed the Delta L1011 that the Bear bragged about. Nice model, but I found a problem. I decided to do a single engine out approach, so I retarded number three throttle, and NO Yaw. So I advanced number three, and retarded number two, and the aircraft yawed to the right. You gessed it, numbers two (center) and number three are crosses. Now, if you advance the throttles one at a time whilst looking at the instruments, the correct instruments respond with the correct throttle. I tried to program a custom setup, with two & three crosses, and it won't accept it. Would one of you fine folks load up the new Delta L1011 and see if you get the same problem? …

Several folks have kindly responded via e-mail and in a thread here to a problem concerning ILS approaches I posted. The problem has worsened in the past 12 hours and seems to be getting generalized.Many runways in Fs2002 have the same ILS freqquency for both directions, e.g. 28R and 10L, etc. In such cases, but not always, I am now finding routinely that the ILS frequency will somehow load the reciprocal runway for me in the nav display and consequently no GS scales are displayed and the a/c does NOT perform an ILS approach.This is happening to me at KPDX, KSEA, Boeing Field, and one or two other places I've tried. I'm using the UK2000 Part 3 scenery package for my local aiport at Manston. However, there's a problem with the ILS - if you follow the glideslope it brings the aircraft down well short of the runway threshold.Is there any way I can edit the scenery to reposition the ILS?Cheers.

Hello,I'm a new member here at avsim and I have some questions about FS2002. I'm getting this game fr my birthday to help me in my flight training. I was looking at the screenshot forum and it seems that every terminal shot has gas trucks, caterers, luggage carts, and the things that push the planes off from the terminal. I was wondering if that was a dwonload or if it comes with the game? Well thank you a lot for your reply's and be prepared for my screenshots. jerrycwo4Spent 30 years as a professional sailor.... too many hours of bing seasick and as surely don't want to be airsick also ! Tried the new Active Camera Pro. I didn't like all of the distarsion (sic) with it and didn't need the 'quick' way to see the other views. I'm glad that everbody likes it, but the old, original version is fine for me. jerry

One has a vpn connection connected directly to a adsl modem via a ethernet card. The ethernet goes into the hub were it connects with other computers on the network.I want to share my dial up connection all pc on the network can acces the dial up connection(vpn). Hi All,Recently, after I've minimized FS and when I attempt to restore to full screen, I get a black screen with hourglass and a locked up system and have to re-boot. This is a real pain in the butt when trying to test modifications to aircraft etc. It doesn't seem to be related to other progs running or not running or any particular activity whilst FS is minimized. I tried re-installing FS and for a bit, the problem seemed to go away but now its baaaak!!Any help would be greatly appreciated.Happy Flying

When making a left turn during taxiing, my head turns right or actually doesn't turn with the a/c. That's ok but I should recover eventually from the sideforce which doesn't happen. If I then counteract this by panning leftview it goes opposite direction i.e. panright. I guess I have to pan to the direction I'm turning before actually making the turn (as I do when driving). Sure hope this can be solved cause the overall feeling's terribly real imho. It's like a whole new sim. Landing's are a challenge again!

I just completed a huge task of reinstalling FS2002 Pro and all my add-ons. I went to KEWR (Simflyers) to check things out and noticed that all the taxiways were a light grey color and appeared raised above the rest of the scenery.On a hunch I checked my scenery.cfg file and noticed immediately that the Flatten and Exclude switches for the scenery was missing. I scrolled through the file and every Flatten or Exclude switch for all my scenery is gone.Has anyone ever experienced this? How did you resolve it?I've spent days reinstalling and optimizing my system and its frustrating now that much I what I did is unusuable. Fortunately I recognized what was wrong with KEWR …

Could someone please tell me the correct settings I need to set in FSMeteo and Squawkbox so that FSMeteo uses VATSIM's weather and Squawkbox does not load the weather? Is it possible to turn off Squawkbox's weather update? It seems to be interfering with FSMeteo. Any help configuring these two programs to work together would be appreciated. TIA.Nathan
