Anyone with a Nvidia 3D card has got to check this out. So worth the 4 mins to set up. See the world from space in color. Check out your own house. The next photoreal texture generator? Could this be next how we get textures for future releases? www.earthviewer.com Kilstorm

Oh yea. I just flew the tutorial from Schipol to London using the FMC and landing with the ILS. What a blast. Jet are NOT boring! Didn't hit the center line perfectly, but I got it on the runway and "Welcome to Heathrow baby". Some of you veterans will probably say "Big Deal", but I feel some accomplishment and now have added another dimension to FS2002 experience.regards,Thaellar

Version 6 of my DreamFleet Boeing 737 Checklist is now available. It is a combination of normal and non-normal checklists as well as reference information for the aircraft. It is highly accurate and detailed based on all of the docmentation provided with the model, real commercial carrier 737 operation manuals, and real 737 simulator experience. The latest version includes modifications for handflying of the departure procedure among other improvements. The file is available through AVSIM as well as through my website at http://home.houston.rr.com/checklist/checklist.html. The next time someone either wants to quit the hobby or wants to quit doing whatever they're currrently involved with, please just quit and don't bother to post the decision here. Those posts are like trying to teach a pig to sing, it wastes your time and annoys the pig. Anybody got any ideas how to put some of the fun back into simming...?Trip

I just rented the Air nav software before reading all the details, and would like to inform anyone who is thinking of renting it. You must realize that it is like those 10-10-220 phone sevices, in that every time you logon the minimum usage charge is 15 minutes. Stupid me didn't realize this until I logged on a bunch of times tonight!!! And also it is not actually realtime but is updated every 3 minutes.

Has anyone who owns this package got the INS to follow the programmed flight path? I can program in the waypoints OK, but cannot get the auto pilot to follow the INS. Could some one email me the steps they've followed. I have AETI's classic 747 so I'm not new to these [email protected]

Hi All;Well, I was away from simming for a few months (even my login expired :)), and I tried to use my second monitor last night to display my FSNav. Problem is; I can't get my mouse cursor to move from my main monitor up to the secondary. I know it worked before, because my FSNav still goes to the secondary display when undocked. Am I missing something obvious here? The second monitor accesses fine when FS2002 is shut down.Help cure my brain f@rt. :-zhelp

I've spent most of my simming time on larger aircraft and I've come to appreciate the autopilot in flying, especially for longer periods of time.Every now and then I'd like a change of pace and fly some of the smaller G/A aircraft such as the Mooney Bravo and the light Beech Twin. I notice they have Autopilot switches on them but after spending some time trying to activate and use the autopilot I have given up in frustration. Can anyone give me a step by step as to how to use autopilot on the mooney and the light twin? I like the autopilot especially for use in the IFR environment. it helps to stop ATC from hollering at me for being more than 300' plus or minus my IFR alt…

  11. I'm a newbie when it comes to adding sceneries (including mesh files and/or landclass files) into FS2K2. Mostly I just let them pile up in the Scenery Library as they install, unless there are specific instructions in the ReadMe to do otherwise. However recently my FS2K2 has refused to play. I don't KNOW for a fact but I suspect it must be related to either the number of sceneries I have installed or how the sceneries are installed. So I'm turning to you........ the users who have been adding sceneries (and planes) to the various versions of FS for a long time. Is there some trick to adding sceneries/mesh/landclass files to the program? Unless instructed otherwise, I p…

So for like six months I have been dealing with the people over at Thrustmaster. Complaining that their Thrustmaster drivers crash FS2002 when you have enabled the Force Feedback settings.I just checked their board and they updated them on the 10/14. So I thought I would give them one more try. Well on a flight from KCOS to KMSP the Force Feedback was on all the way and not one crash. So at least they have passed test one. I will keep trying them, but so far so good.Anyways, heres the link in case anyone needs them.[div align=center][link:members.cox.net/fstimes/|http://members.cox.net/joshieca/fstimeslink.gif][link:members.cox.net/fstimes/wetimage.html]Click Here For We…

I see David MacDonald has a beacon add-on for CYYG (Charlottetown). I thought there was no default scenery for PEI. I'd sure like to know if there has been a scenery release for PEI other than the MASSIVE 4 or 5 part file that was an add-on created a while ago. Is anyone aware of a scenery file for PEI?Thanks, Adam

Say for example I am flying along in the default Cessna Skylane at 110 KIAS and 5K feet AGL. How should I have my prop and mixture set? Is it just me or does mixture not really seem to have an effect until you get it all the way lean (at which point the engine dies)? The EGT doesn't seem to move at all when adjusting the mixture... How about prop? Do I just dial it back a bit to keep the RPM in the green band? Is this just for fuel efficiency reasons? when making a short hop (50 nm or so) is there any reason not to keep the prop at full? How do I know when I have these two settings set to the correct position? Thanks :)

Hiya guys,Living in England I have no idea about US flying schools. I have always wanted to be an airline pilot and I did plan to start training in a few months. Now I have decided to go to university many more doors have been (will be!) opened for me, one of them is possibly moving to the US (actually a very strong chance). My question is this, what are the main flight training schools in the USA, are their any particualar ones that airlines look out for? Could you post links possibly? In England a few airlines offerd part or full sponsership, somthing which has now died out, were there any or are their any sponsorship schemes open in the US? How do the majority of people…

clearly the most dangerous airport on the earth, at least on the earth microsoft created...sometimes the mix up between mesh data and airport data proves to be fun.this is Banff, in British Columbia, Canada.hmm...something's changed since the last time i tried to post with pictures...hope this works..i'd be curious to see what the biggest aircraft is that any of you can manage to land on this strip and stop in time.the last pic is what you see if your approach is too low...and trust me, you don't want to run off the end, either :)

I'm not looking for super-accuracy or anything, but I'd like to replace the AI commercial flights with real world airline textures and airline names. I don't mind which terminal they go to or which planes they fly, I just don't want to see the bogus airline liveries and hear their callsigns. Is there an easy method to make this switch? I don't think I'm ready to make the jump to actually changing the AI flights, destinations, etc. Just a texture/callsign swap. Thanks for any assistance
