Have any of you guys tried listening to FS2002 through headphones? I was forced to recently and I don't think I'm going back now. It was incredible. I was able to pick out the tinyest of details, the background noise from AI aircraft as they transmit, the clicking of the radios as I transmit, the gentle wind noise as I descend.I tried both the Baron and the new ERJ, the Baron was realistically noisy and the ERJ was atmospherically quiet and professional. The only downside is that if some of your sounds aren't quite normalised then the loud sounds will blow your head off.Just to encourage a bit of experimentation, my FS experience is greatly enhanced.Take care,Ian

I like flying with FS2002, and I like driving too. This is why I have CH Combat Stick and CH Throttle (gameport) for FS2002, and a Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel (USB) for the need for speed...Consequently, I decided to use the pedals that come with the driving wheel to control the rudder. It used to work fine, until I updated DirectX to version 8.1b. Since that time, the pedals stop working after I use FS2002 for some time (around 30 minutes), but the stick and throttle work well. I have the latest version of the sidewinder drivers.If someone has the same config, using the Sidewinder pedals for rudder control, please let me know what version of DirectX you're using and …

I have a simple Microphone and I used to hate having it open all the time. And ALT TABBING to mute the Microphone.I made a program, that with a single key press you can mute/unmute the microphone.I am checking if there is any interest in such program, since releasing it will require me to add option to change the key (right now its F11) etc, and I'm usually lazy ;)

I can't stop. I fly everyday. I fly while I watch TV. I fly while I check the forums. Hello there,Recently I've been receiving the following message:Application Error -Instruction at "0x6c371351" referenced memory at "0x00000004". Memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate program.This of course then ends FS2002. Could it have something to do with AFCAD/AI aircraft as it only happens around the airports with AI. Any ideas?Cheers,jason

So I went down to my local CompUSA to buy this MS joystick, Sidewinder Precision 2. I'd tried it and loved it. I got it in five minutes. I came home. I loaded the software. It wasn't recognized on my trusty old P3. I'd checked with CompUSA about the version of Windows because it said on the MS box "for Windows 98SE and above". I only ever had Windows 98, plain vanilla, never upgraded. They said, if you've been updating your PC with Direct X and IE, etc., this stick will work OK.I installed the software 3 times and somehow, finally, on the 3rd attempt, it worked and Windows was able to build a driver dBase and instal it. I notice that the default aircrafts come with a visible light on rwy when taxi and landing lights are switched on. Many planes however to not create this effect. How is this being done ? How can I add this feature to a plane that does not have it but only the switches.The pictures explain. One is with taxi/landing lights on the other off.Regard

I'm using PAI aircraft and manually inserting them into my own flight plans. I see lots of models on their site, but no textures available in the repaint section.For example. Recent additions of FS Painter's models like the F50, CRJ200, Saab 340b, and the F100] and B727. The base model is there, but there are no repaints, or at least no visible access to them.I don't want to use the auto-installer. I prefer my own work with flight plans.Anybody know where the key is to unlock the secret? This is a mystery that's bewildered me for weeks. Any help is most appreciated. I sent PAI an email. I always loved the 747-400 but had to wait for Meljet to come up with what I consider the best textures so far. The only thing I'm missing is the right panel. Should I wait for the new 747 commercial add-ons that are awaited for end of this year or should I go ahead with the PSS747 ?Smalco

Help,I keep getting problems when trying to fly a flight-plan with MSFS2002 and ATC. Everything seems to be going well, I get my clearance, I taxi to the runway, I get handed off to approach who gives me a vector, BUT then they never turn me to my final course. They keep handing me off to other ATC controllers, giving me altimiter settings and altitude, but I am still going about 45 degrees off of the course that I should be.If I try to turn to the course that I should be on, ATC tells me that I should expedite my turn back to the original vector that I had been given... Hello everyone!A few months ago, I downloaded a Frontier 737-200 in the old Red and Orange livery. I can't remember if it was the complete aircraft, or the textures only. I have installed various freeware programs, quite a few to mention, and no longer see AI traffic. I do have Squawk Box installed and use it frequently. For those times I do not use Squawk Box it would be nice to see AI traffic. Is there anyway to get this back now. I can access AI Communications through the "`" key, but I do not see any traffic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good evening all --I have a question on AFCAD -- What does it do? It adds gates right?The reason I ask is that I have downloaded the PAI addons and haven't really seen that much of an increase in traffic, even in airports such as ATL, LAX, and DEN.
