Hello to all:What cause the stuttering in Flight Sim, is the access to the hard disk , is the video card or is the proccessor speed. If is NOT the hard disk then why when my computer access the hard disk to update the screen I see some "stuttering" going on. Thank you all.

Checking prices on a GeForce4 TI4600 card on pricewatch, cards without 8xAGP start at $188 US, while the first 8xAGP card is $233. I've seen several posts that indicate 8x is actually slower than 4x, so my question is, should I go with 4x? JamesJ

  5. Can someone tell me why I can't turn off the landing lights without shutting off the forward section of window lights? I used a set of the night textures from another repaint that matched my Delta window config and they don't seem to work right. If ALL the lights are on, than the windows all show up. If I shut off the landing lights (ctrl L) then the forward bitmap night lit windows go away. Not quite sure why this is right now. I think I used Ben Hewitts windows off the American repaint he did, it has the same problem. I'd like to fix this if possible and any help is appreciated.ThanksHornit

Hi All;This is probably a dumb question that's been asked and answered, but I can't seem to find it in the archives.I'm fairly new to flight simming and wanted to change panels in a few planes. I used Addit, and also tried FlightZip 2000 to do this. What I noticed is I lost my original exterior views when using the utility. I tried to get the exterior views back manually, but obviously didn't know how to do it because it never happened. Anyone else have this problem ? How can I use a panel that I want and still see my aircraft's wing, nacelle, and whatever when I look out the window ?Thanks in advance.Baron.

Is there a program that replaces the defualt 'vacuum' sound the AI planes make. I would really like them to sound more realistic like the planes that you can actaully fly. I remember seeing a program that might have done this, but i lost track of it. Could anyone piont me to a program or just tell me how to change it. Thanks :-hmmm :-)

Hello all,Maybe this is a question that has been answered b4, but couldnt find it on the forum.I have p4 2.4 ghz running with 512 mb ram on an intel mobo, and a ti4600 (det 43.00)card on windows xp sp1.I have teriffic framerates, with nearly everything maxed, and the sim in generl looks beautiful, but the scenery textures shimmer. Not all the textures, but only the ones half way the horizon. I use 4x anti aliasing, no af, and have texture sharpening turned off.Does anyone have a clue what could be causing it. Tried experimenting with rivatuner and read the tweak guide thats around, but to no help. Many thanx in advance,PH-GAL from Holland.

As you know from my post that has been anchored, I believe that this is one of the most worthwhile things that the community has done. As we only need .8% of the Avsim community, or approximately 60-70 more contributions at $50, to meet the goal, would it be possible to post a simple "progress report every 3 days or so? I want to lead the community to meeting this goal by next Friday, if not this Friday, and I think it is realistic. Let me commend the Avsim staff for forming the scholarship, and extend equal kudos to the community for building it to the level that is has become, so quickly.Christopher Michael Braun

.. suggest you check out the repaintui_manufacturer=SIAI-Marchettiui_type=SF.260ui_variation=Aeroclub Vergiatedescription=Vergiate Aeroclub livery, by Michael FlahaultLook in the library under Vergiate.I, for one, enjoy the Marchetti a lot, but often wished for a "non military" paint scheme. The Aeroclub Vergiate paint is very pretty and based on the photograph that came with the repaint, very close to the real thing.. enjoy!

Hiya, I have been looking for a schematic but can't find one so I will go from the top of my head...What happens if their is a complete engine failure on a FBW aircraft such as the 777 or A3x0? You loose the engine driven hydraulic pumps and the main buses therefore the electrical driven pumps also. What happens if the RAT fails to extend? You are left without any hydraulics and their is no manual reversion. What do you do??? Aysemtric (SP?) thrust is out of the question (no engines!) so how do you stear the thing? Also do you loose the EFIS displays?Cheers

Since yesterday there is an excellent A310 panel designed by Simon Topmann for download here at AVSIM. Just search for a313st10.zipThis panel has got lots of bells and wistles and looks very good.Since I think this news would get lost in the other A310-panel-thread here at AVSIM, I started this extra thread. Here is a screenshot of the main panelhttp://ftp.avsim.com/library/zipshow.php?D...pe=image%2FjpegWolfgang

hey guy's! Any one out there have been close to or worked with an airline that had L-1011's?? I am trying to find out if the L-1011 Had 2 sets of strobes on the Wing Tips like the DC-10 has? I remeber seeing the Delta L-1011's when they used to fly to my home AIrport of HNL Intl! but i only remeber a Strobe on the Back of the WIngtip?? So if anyone out there has any info on this, can they tell me if there is also a Strobe light in the Front of the wingtip with the Nav light's like the DC-10 Strobes are?? or if there is only 1 strobe on the back of the Wingtip on each side? I would apprecite the Info on this! Thank's MIKE -:)

I have been happy with the performance I'm getting from my config shown below. For some reason, I always experience relatively smooth scenery loading, clouds floating past me, and great visual shading, EFX, etc.I'm beginning to wonder why I keep seeing this at the NVIDIA site:******************************OS: Windows XP / 2000Version: 41.09File Size: 16.3 MBRelease Date: December 3, 2002WHQL Candidate******************************as I scan for an updated driver for my video. This baby has been a "candidate" now for nearly 4 months. I'm thinking something is seriously wrong with the code.Oh well, I'm using the 4072's and can't really complain ...WIN-XP ProPentium 4-1.8AIntel…

Well they were at one point, and then quit. However, it was not a unanmimous decision to stop. I know this was posted before, probably here, but I think it could use another airing. Some folks at CH would like to continue the project. If you are interested in getting one send an email to [email protected]. This is not a spam campaigne. I have permission to request that you send emails to the correct parties at CH. [email protected] is one of those people. They were also making a force feedback Yoke at one point, however I did not receive any indications whether that project was shelved, or still in operation. If you are interested in one of those as well …

Just curious, what would be considered too slow a machine to run FSHost 2.3 if it was the only thing running on that particular PC? Would a Pentium 166, 64 meg of ram and a cable internet connection be too slow to host, say up to 8 people on FSHost (max, realistically, it would be 3-5).Anyone messed with this? Thanks.Pieter

When do you change over Navigating from one VOR to another when on a Victor Route?Sometimes the symbol for changeover is present...other times it is not. So when it is not present, is it at pilot discression? Thanks all.
