Hi all,I've been in beautiful Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada (if you don't agrre, compared to Oklahoma at least) for a large multi-national military exercise for the last fourteen days and was wondering if someone could fill me in on some of the latest add-ons that have been released since then, or any other exciting news that I may have missed. Recently I purchased the Aerosoft Manhattan scenery which is terrific but probably the biggest boost in realism in my mind is the addition of smoke emanating from the smoke stacks. It is a very cool effect which brings a city to life and also provides a quick check of wind direction and speed. Has anyone tried to add smoke to the default chimneys in FS9? ThanksDavid

Have an interview with Mesaba coming up, wondering if there are any realistic (freeware or payware) saab aircraft with realistic cockpits?The one listed on the file section here, doesn't have 2 autopilots on the top, the panel and avionics didn't look anything like what a Mesaba Saab looks like.

This question has probably been asked and answered numerous time but I have not spotted it.On some aircraft I have downloaded, the brakes will not hold when the engines (usually jet liners) are spooled up. The aircraft creeps and in many cases will get airborn with the brakes still "on".Question: Is there anything in the aircraft.cfg or air file that can be modified to correct this or is it a more basic problem with the model that was used?Thanks for any enlightenment.

How many of you out there have actually flown a real Airbus or Boeing simulator? If you have, did you find that it enhanced or was detrimental to your enjoyment of FS2004? Or, was it neither?I could only imagine the excitement and thrill of a couple of hours in a United Airlines 747-400 simulator, for example, only to come home to a copy of FS2004 with a definite emotional letdown, which, hypothetically, would never rise to the pre-real-simulator experience again.Just curious,RH

Anyone knows where to get nice looking Dutch airports? I'm doing a lot of flights above the Netherlands, but I would like to get a bit more detailed airports... I know about the Dutch 2000NL addon (or whatever it is called) but that's thw whole off Netherlands in FS 1998 style... I only want to have the airports because I like the default FS Netherlands (with autogen) a LOT more than that add-on...

Hey folks,I have a problem with FS9 pausing, for a lack of better terms, sometimes for up to 12 seconds and then when it comes out of it's "stuck" moment everything will be grey for a moment and the graphics will reload. This sometimes happens once or twice per minute, making it unflyable. I have everything unecessary turned off in the background, basically everything but FS9. I am running AI traffic, but I can't imagine it is having this kind of impact, in fact it doesn't matter where I am at (regarding ai density). Hello, I just purchased 2 of flight one's planes.. I also have the ATR-72-500.. This is what lead me to purchasing 2 more from flight one..One thing I have noticed is the ATR on my Forcefeedback 2 joystick has some forces behind the stick and feels excellent kinda like a heavy..I have noticed the Conquest 2, and the PC-12 my stick don't even know thier there and the slightest movement and shoot I might as well be flying a f-16..Also I can work the ailerons real hard rock them from left to right and i do not get any conteracting g force from the stick..I do know these 2 planes are alot lighter than the ATR...But is there something I could do to my config so it wou…

Hello I have been having some errors on my flight sim ever since about the time I installed Real Xp GPS 530 and the RealAir Marachetti SF.260.Oh yeah I also installed FSBUILD around that time..I have an AMD Athlon 64bit 3200+ with a gig of ram and a NVIDIA 256mb geforce 5500fx with a soundblaster live 5.1I don't understand it but in the middle of my flight I get an error stating something about windows having to adjust my virtual memory and PF usage.. I don't know exactly what the hog is or where it could be.. Anxiously awaiting Ultimate Terrain for the US. I was just having a thought...could it be possible to enable the traffic lights to change as the hours of the clock change?In simple terms, late afternoon and early evening is when traffic is heaviest other than morning, so is it possible to program the points of light to be less abundant as the evening gets later? Example...flying into an airport at 11pm-there should be much less traffic showing on the roads than at 7pm. Just a thought...

I usually fly IFDG's A320 with Ken Mitchell's A320 panel and the Project Tupolev's Tu-154B-2. The Tu-154 intercepts the set course perfectly (begins turning ahead of time to level out exactly on time). But the A320 tries to intercept the course almost perpendicularly and levels out too late which causes it to swerve back and worth about four times before it levels out. This also happens to almost all the other aircraft such as the Project Fokker's F-100 anf F-70 and POSKY's 757-200 with Lonny Payne's panel. Is there anyway I can alter the panel.cfg or the aircraft.cfg (or any other way) to make the A320 interecept the course smoothly? Thanks in advance and sorry if I am u…

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you CAN use a PAI AFCAD2 file for cross-wind airports like KLAS & KORD even though I'm using Ultimate Traffic, right?I remember being told that the AFCAD2 files don't care what brand of AI traffic you use, that they only spell out gate, parking, taxiway, & jetway info, etc...The reason I ask is that I see a few more to choose from for the couple of SimFlyers airports I own at PAI compared to SimFlyers own offerings...Scott

In FS2002 I'm recently missing the Inner Marker tone and panel light. Outer & Middle Marker tones & lights are fine. On panels with a marker test function, all three lights and tones work. FS2002 Sound File contains all three WAV files and they work OK. Audio panel has "mkr" enabled. This is strange; It's almost as if the approach "trigger" function is not activating the IM, but is the MM & OM. This is occuring on all ac, default & third party (300 and counting) and at all airports. I have no scenery additions. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. Mistral2

I was facing a serious problem with FS9.1 refusing to disconnect from MultiPlay sessions (self hosted or external). When selecting to disconnect FS would freeze and only ending the program via task manager would solve the problem.After thorough searching I started uninstalling stuff.First it was ActiveCamera but that did not change anything.Then I uninstalled VisualFlight's London VFR scenery http://www.visualflight.co.uk/ which included some dynamic features like boats sailing up and down river Thames.When I did this I was later able to leave MP sessions without FS freezing.If you wish you can reply in the relevant thread of the MP forum.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.p…

Shouldn't you be able to set QNH on the A36 somehow somewhere on the panel itself...? The only thing you can do now is press 'B' to calibrate the altimeter... Or am I missing something (like the point... ;))? I also remember there is a key for calibrating the compass (wasn't that D?): shouldn't you be able to set that (or whatever) on the panel itself?

I received an Email this evening from ,I think,the folks that make Megascenery, wanting to sell me a $10 add on to make Megascenery load faster. I don't mind spending money, but if I buy some scenery and the author of the scenery finds a way to make it work better with FS9, it kind of bothers me that I have to pay another $10 to get this improvement, so I won't, but I probably won't buy any more Megascenery either. http://www.megascenery.com/megabooster.htm

I have Holger Sandmann's AI Ships installed with the Misty Fjords scenery, but cannot get them to display properly. I realize that the difference between FS9 and FSNav coordinates listed below are relatively insignificant. I have tried moving the Misty Fjord Scenery to the top of my library.If I move my aircraft to Airport/Go To Airport ID PAK5, named AI Cruise Ship Island Princes, I am located at N55deg 4.56min W131deg 8.20min and find no ship. In FSNav, my aircraft is located at N55deg 4.53min W 131deg 8.20min. There is a location marker there which has no text. Adjacent to it at N55deg 5.08min W131deg 6.62 is another marker however, which is includes the AI Cruise Ship…
